
I tried tougan (winter melon/wax gourd) today. It was pretty good. It didn’t have much flavor but the texture was nice. It was kind of like flavorless daikon that soaks up whatever flavoring is added to it. Daddy cooked it with some minced chicken and onions and then chilled it. It was a nice cold dish on a hot summer day like today. Daddy made an adult version of the same dish for Mommy and himself. Mommy seemed to appreciate the coldness refreshing dish as well.
