The only time I can get my hair under any kind of control is right after my bath when my hair is still damp. Any other time it sticks up and curls up and is basically uncontrollable. Once my hair dries it will start to come alive again. This is a very brief period when I have a hair helmet. It kind of looks like a Lego figure hair helmet.
