Daddy took me to the doctor’s office because I had a 38.5°C (101.3°F) fever, so he thought it would be best to try and get my fever down as soon as possible. I got some medicine and it started to work right away. It was weird that I was sick because I felt fine.

I took a couple more naps in the afternoon, but while I was awake I was in a great mood! I showed a lot of energy and smiles. I didn’t want Daddy to worry too much about me. I’m sure he was a bit concerned when he got the call from the nursery school about my fever. But he felt better when he saw me and heard that I was in a good mood and had a good appetite. Despite how I felt, we still tried to take it easy for the rest of the day. So it was relatively calm play for the day.
I hear that it is very common for babies to get sick when they start going to nursery school. It is all the exposure to new people and environments which means there is a lot more contact with germs. I’m sure that this will not be my last fever at school, but I hope to keep them to a minimum. I don’t want to miss any more school than necessary.
