This morning we went on a train ride. I know what you are going to say, “There aren’t any trains on Kauai.” You are mostly right. There aren’t any trains for transportation, but there is one for a plantation tour.

All I ever do is talk about trains, cars, buses, and airplanes. I mention them every day, either when playing, reading books, spotting them in the wild, or just expressing my wishes. So I have been talking about this train ride for a long time. Daddy even made the mistake once of mentioning it while we were walking to school. I misunderstood and thought I would get to ride the train that day. I was so disappointed when I got dropped off at school and cried my head off when there was no train there.

I was very happy to finally be riding a train on Kauai! It was my first ride on a real choo-choo train! I thought it was awesome! The tour conductor talked about the plantation, the plants, and other facts about the island, but I wasn’t listening. All I cared about was the train.

The train made a stop to feed some animals on the plantation. There were a bunch of pigs, some cows, horses, and donkeys. I was not very interested in the animals. I came here for the train ride, not to see animals.

Mommy was pretty interested in the animals though.

I finally came around to the animals and was able to get close to a horse and feed a donkey that seemed harmless and friendly. It was kind of cool

But I came here for the train so I wanted to get back on the train.

It was a very fun train ride and I can’t wait to ride it again!
