Under the Christmas tree

It looks like Santa came early and left a gift under the Christmas tree: it’s me, Mason! I shuffle over to the tree every day and try to reach the ornaments. Sometimes I get them, sometimes I’m stopped from getting them. But I make an attempt every day. Mommy and Daddy stop me from pulling […]

More peaches and grapes

I’ll eat almost anything, but you’ll know I like something by the size of my mouth.

Basket case

It was getting tiring for Daddy to keep chasing me around the house, (he is 43 years old), so he came up with a “game” for me where I sit in a laundry basket and…I think that’s it. I just sit in a basket and Daddy doesn’t have to chase after me. Not as active,

Baby ball biscuits

One of my snacks are these baby ball biscuits that are very common in Japan. They are quite tiny, about a centimeter across, and dissolve very easily, so it is the perfect snack food for babies. They are great snacks, but are not as easy to eat as my rice crackers. I can hold onto

Exploring

Now with my power of army crawling I’m exploring a lot, and very quickly. I shuffle off so quickly that Mommy and Daddy are having trouble keeping me out of trouble. Apparently there places that I can explore and places that I can’t, things that I can touch and things that I can’t. I guess

Family photo at the park

We went for a walk to the park today. I still can’t do much at the park. I watch the other older kids run around on the playground and I can’t wait until I can do that. But I was quite content sitting on the bench with Mommy and Daddy and taking in the view.

On Daddy’s shoulders again

I got to practice riding on Daddy’s shoulders again today. I’m still loving it! Mommy loves seeing me so happy! As for Daddy, I think he is happy because we are happy. He can’t really see anything and might end up with a couple of bald spots from where I hold on, but he must

7 months old

I’m 7 months old! It’s official now; I’m over the hill. I’m am closer to my first birthday than to my actual birthday. It’s all downhill form here. Look how much I’ve grown. Not only in size but also in ability. I’m rolling over, crawling, sitting, eating solid foods, putting myself to sleep, and am

Choosing a book

Being able to crawl creates a lot of freedom for me, and some problems for Mommy and Daddy. I can get to a lot more things which means I can make a bigger mess than before. I discovered my bookshelf and like to choose the books I want Mommy and Daddy to read to me.

On Daddy’s shoulders

I’m moving up in the world. I’m getting steadier when I sit on the floor, which means I know how to keep upright. That means that I’m almost ready to ride around on Daddy’s shoulders. We have been practicing.

Floor walking

Sometimes being stuck on the floor can get a bit boring. Even with army crawling, there is only so much you can see. I think I’m going to skip proper crawling on my hands and knees and move right along to walking. I’ve already got good form, now all I have to do is get

Chicken

Now we’re moving on to the good stuff: meat! I had my first taste of chicken today, and you know what, it taste like chicken. And I love it! So far I think it is the most hearty food I have eaten. This stuff is finger licking good!

On the move

Now that I figured out how to army crawl I am exploring a lot more. I can shuffle my way around the four corners of the living room pretty easily. I’m planning to expand my range pretty soon. For now, I’m just covering a lot of ground in the living room.

Early riser

When I’m hungry in the morning, I just can’t put myself back to sleep, no matter how well my sleep training is going. I just start calling for Mommy and Daddy to wake up and feed me. As you can see, I have figured out where they sleep, (my crib is at the foot of

Peach and grapes

Oh my god! I tried peaches and grapes baby food and it was sooooo good! Peaches are not in season and we haven’t seen it in the supermarket, so we bought some off the shelf baby food. Man, that stuff is good! It was considerably sweeter than the food I have been eating. You can

Looking for Mommy and getting a surprise

Remember how I mentioned that I watch Mommy and Daddy leave the room and then look and wait for them to come back. Well, sometimes that can result is some surprise followed by a lot of laughter!
