Radish
Today’s new food: radish. Not bad. I think I like it. But I like all food so that’s not saying much. As long as it fills my belly!
Leg cross hold
I often cross my legs/feet. I don’t know why I do it. It just feels comfortable. But it looks like I can use it to hold on to stuff. Here I am practicing gripping my playmat post. I hope someday this skill will be useful when I play on jungle gyms or climb trees.
Moving tunnel
When babies start to crawl, they like to crawl through tunnels. I’m not crawling yet, but that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy tunnels. So, we improvised and made the tunnel move over me instead of me crawling through it.
A meal with Grandma and Grandpa
I was having my weekly chat with Grandma and Grandpa and wanted to show them how good an eater I am. So they watched me eat. They were very impressed with how well I ate. Before they knew it, I had finished my entire meal. After that great meal I was in a great mood.
Delicious bib
As you know, I love eating all the food that Mommy makes for me. I don’t want to waste any of it. In the process of eating, I discovered two things. One, all the food that doesn’t make it into my mouth is caught on my bib and I can eat it from there. Two,
Food court
The bigger I get, the more stuff I need. So we went shopping at Babies ‘R’ Us today. We didn’t end up buying much, but we checkout the different products and did some price comparisons. It was good to see the actual products before we buy them. Also, Christmas is right around the corner so
Amazon box/car
Daddy turned an Amazon cardboard box into little car for me. He pulled and pushed me around a bit in it. Then it broke. I guess these boxes weren’t meant to bear the weight of Mason-sized kids. It was fun while it lasted.
Slippers
I’m very interested in bedroom slippers. There is something interesting about the texture that captures my interest. I like touching them, grabbing them, and ultimately trying to chew on them. Mommy and Daddy are very careful to let me to the first two things, but not the last one. I wonder if we can pick
Sleep training
I started sleep training last night. Let’s start with the good news: I was able to sleep! What was surprising was that I was asleep within an hour. I think that is pretty good for my first night of sleep training. The bad news is that I pretty much cried for 45 minutes straight until
Komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach)
I am a good eater! I am definitely one of those people who lives eat instead of eats to live. I love eating and I can’t wait until meal time. I even dream about eating. I’m still liking all the vegetables I try. Most of the time I just gobble the food down without much
On the couch
I spend so much time on my mat and on the floor or being carried, that it is nice to just sit back and relax every once in a while.
Sous chef
With Daddy working, Mommy does most of the cooking. With Daddy working at the computer and Mommy cooking in the kitchen, I feel like I’m not pulling my own weight around the house. So I cry out until I can either help Daddy with work or help Mommy in the kitchen. You saw how I
Crawling frustration: push up
I still get really frustrated trying to crawl. I’m getting closer and can push myself up with my arms, but I still am not moving forward. I don’t get it! Mommy and Daddy say that I have to use my legs, but I though to crawl I had to use my arms. Wait, are you
What should I watch?
Like many babies, I’m fascinated by remote controls. I’m constantly reaching for it. So Daddy tried to be sneaky and gave me an old remote control. For the most part I ignore it and go for the real remote. But every once in a while I pretend that his ruse worked and I play with
Cat naps
Recently, my naps have been really short. I consistently take 30 minute naps. I rarely sleep longer than that during the day. I can be sound asleep and then all of a sudden I wake up (often after exactly 30 minutes). I’m not necessarily hungry or have a we diaper or anything. I just wake
Laugh, laugh, laugh
I wish I could say that my days are completely filled with smiles and laughter, but that wouldn’t be true. Like any baby, I have my ups and downs. I do cry here and there, I am fussy now and then, and I do require a lot of care. I’ll be honest, I can be
Working from home
Daddy says that the main reason he took a job where he can work from home was to have more time with me. Sure, I see him more and he can help Mommy out during his breaks, but I don’t think that is why he decided to work from home. I think he just needed
