Hats off

Even though it is October, it is still pretty hot and sunny. So when I go out for a walk, I usually wear a hat. Or sometimes the hat wears me. The end result, I end up falling asleep in my stroller.

First food

I started eating solid food today! Well, it wasn’t really “solid”. I ate okayu, which is a Japanese rice porridge. It took a couple of tries to learn how to keep the food in my mouth, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. And the verdict is that I like food! I don’t

Finding sneaky Daddy

I was taking my nap in my crib and then I woke up in a fairly good mood. I didn’t cry or call out for Mommy or Daddy. I just stayed in my crib. I got bored and started to move around and thump my legs, but I still didn’t cry or call out. By

Festive fireworks

It is already October, but it is still quite hot. About 32°C, which is nearly 90°F. In OCTOBER! I have no frame of reference, but October is supposed to be autumn and much cooler. The nice thing is that I can get more use out of my summer wardrobe which is already getting to be

Windmill arms

One day I may like something, and then the next day I won’t. I used to like relaxing on Mommy and Daddy’s lap so that I could see them and talk to them. Recently, I rarely am able to relax like that. I twist and fuss a lot nowadays. I even get windmill arms. Beware

Steering wheel

Daddy has fun making me do funny things. Most of the time, I enjoy it a lot. This time I was less than amused. This is him making it look like I’m handling a steering wheel.

Afternoon nap

I would like to say that easily fall asleep at night and for my naps, but that isn’t always true. Most of the time I have a hard time sleeping on my mat and often jolt awake when I’m put down. But every so often I am in such a deep peaceful sleep that I

Playmat peekaboo

Peekaboo is still one of my favorite games. The nice thing about peekaboo is that we can play it anywhere and with anything. So when there isn’t a towel or blanket handy, Daddy just uses the play mat.

Towel

Daddy loves playing with me. Of course, that means that he likes to be my playmate and entertain me, but it also means that he likes to play with me for his entertainment too. Here are exhibits A and B. Exhibit A is titled “toothache” and Exhibit B is “Japanese Construction Worker”. This is what

Roll over head flick

I can roll over so easily now that I wonder why it took me so long to do it the first time. I’m rolling over several times a day, which usually makes Mommy and Daddy happy, but sometimes causes them trouble. When I’m playing on my mat, they understand that I need to roll over

Pardon?

I am a very talkative baby. You’ve seen the conversations that I have with Mommy and Daddy. But it is hard for them to video my talking because when I notice the camera I get camera shy and stop talking. It’s not that I don’t want to talk, I just need to be asked to

Daddy’s working

This past month Daddy has been working from home, which I am really happy about, but it is hard for me to understand why he is at home but not spending the whole day with me. He checks on me whenever he can and we can spend his lunch hour together, but it is not

Weight plateau

Mommy weighed me today, and I’m happy to say that my sky rocketing weight gain has suddenly plateaued. I am 9510g (20.97 lbs.) fully clothed. About a month ago I was 9210g (20.3 lbs). So that is only a 300g increase compared to about 1kg increase from 3 months old to 4 months old. It

TV

There is this rectangular object in our living room that has a lot of pictures and makes a lot of sounds. Apparently it is called “TV”. Mommy and Daddy play my nursery rhymes and songs on it as they sing to me. And they turn it on for the kids shows in the afternoon. I’m

Day time naps

Most of my daytime naps start off like this. I’m so big and heavy, that Mommy needs to use a baby carrier to carry me for long periods of time. Her poor back is suffering a lot because of my size. Just carrying and rocking me is quite a workout for her, so she needs

Tummy breaks

Once I rolled over the first time, it was easy to do it a second time…and a third, and fourth…let’s just say I’m rolling over all the time now. And I mean all the time. Mommy and Daddy turn away for a second and the next thing they know, I’m on my tummy. I still

Relaxing is a group effort

Mommy put me down for awhile to let me relax and have some quiet time. And then she lay down beside me to take a break as well. Daddy saw us taking a break and decided to jump in on the activity (or lack thereof). I guess relaxing is a group effort in this family.

Crying

Yep, I’m crying. Why? I don’t know…I’m a baby. I just cry sometimes. I know it is hard for Mommy and Daddy who try to figure out what’s wrong and try to help me calm down, but sometimes I just have to cry for no reason. It’s like baby law or something.

Found my feet

Well, I found my feet. I always knew they were down there, and I’ve seen them time to time, but I finally got a hold of them. I still haven’t figured out what they’re for, though. I kick them around and thump them on the floor, but they don’t seem to be very useful. I
