Mommy wanted to send a video of me singing happy birthday to one of her friends, but I got performance jitters and couldn’t quite keep it together to sing the song. I’m usually so good at singing, but I was just a bit bashful.

We went to the park to fly our kites today. They didn’t exactly soar, but we had fun running around with them. With all the running around we ended up playing chase. I would tell my friends, “I’m going to run away” and they would respond by saying, “Okay, I’ll chase you!”

I’m just showing how well I slept. I slept good.

Daddy stopped by the convenience store on his way home today and got us all special drinks. I drank mine eagerly and quickly. Too quickly actually. Despite being difficult at school today, I was very happy at home. I ate a good dinner and then even got to eat some dessert (leftovers from the weekend). Then I played with Mommy! And I had fun playing with Daddy when he came home. I’m just happy at home.

We went to visit the prefectural office and see some nice flowers today. It was a nice walk, but it did not start off well for me. I came out to show her the pants hat Daddy made for me and showed it to Mommy with a goofy face that cracked her up.

Today we had a fire drill. As usual, we listened intently as our teachers explained what to do in case of a fire or earthquake. After the instruction we also practiced how to protect ourselves. I got ready really quick today so that I could have more morning driving practice.

When my friend came over, one of the first things we did was prepare today’s dessert. We each got our own flavor of Fruiche (fruit yogurt mix) and we did a very good job mixing it. I’m usually good about cleaning up after I play. But I can be very particular about how I clean up. I can even waver about my position on cleaning up at that time.

Mommy got some old milk cartons and made a bikkuri bako (surprise box) for me. I definitely was surprised, but the first time did not work as well as she wanted. The second time was very surprising. Even Mommy was surprised.

Today we had a crafts activity that I didn’t really want to do. I finished quickly and then found some quiet time with a book. I love reading books. Especially picture encyclopedias. My favorite ones are of cars of course.

My new thing is to practice driving in the car. It all started when I found my baby toy steering wheel and found it fun to practice driving with that.
