Strawberry playdate

I had a playdate with my friend again and we had saved a few strawberries from yesterday’s strawberry picking to shared with her. Coincidentally she brought some strawberries for us as well. So we had a strawberry playdate!

We had a lot of fun playing together and just in each other’s general vicinity. We always get along really well and I was really good at sharing with her. I shared my toys and she especially liked the Magna-tiles. She had never played with them before. While she play with that I did my own thing.

I also showed her the music box merry-go-round from Grandma and Grandpa and she really liked it! The two of us watched the horses go round and round, listened to the music and clapped along!

We played so much that she started to get sleepy and before we knew it she was fast asleep. I kept playing for a bit, but it was my naptime as well so I went through my routine and went down for my nap. I didn’t get to say goodbye to my friend, but I’m sure I’ll see her again soon. What a fun playdate!

Washing the car

The weather was so nice that Daddy took me outside to play and I brought one of my cars with me. Then I realized why play with a small toy car when I can play with the real thing. I wanted to go for a ride in our car, but instead we decided to wash the car. I had fun and was big help when I wasn’t playing with the soap suds.

When we finished we decided to put up my koi nobori (carp) for Boys’ Day.

I’m Superman…hey wait

I was running around the house pretending to be Superman when I noticed that Daddy was reading a book on the couch. He needed to rest after the long drive today, but I thought that instead of rest, it would be better for him to play with me. So that’s what he did.

I ended up flying in the air, not like Superman, but flying all the same.

Garden sprinklers

Daddy was checking on the plants in our garden and I was helping. When he checked the positioning of the garden sprinklers I helped by making sure the spray and mist were spreading in the right direction. By the look of my hair the sprinklers are working fine.

Shovel car at the strawberry farm

There must be a lot of families that visit the strawberry farm because they had all kinds of toys in the waiting areas. I guess it was for kids to play with after they got full and the adults continued to eat strawberries. I saw the toys and they looked fun, but I was more into the strawberries. After our time was up we found more toys in the shop area. I played with them a bit before we headed home. I needed a lot of coercing to leave the toys behind. There was an Anpanman shovel car! Of course I wanted to stay and play, but we needed to head back and I needed a nap. I eventually said goodbye to the toys but I talked about them the whole ride home.

I’ve always liked fruits, but recently strawberries have been in season and we’ve being buying them regularly which means I’ve been eating them regularly. They are so yummy! Mommy and Daddy thought I might enjoy going strawberry picking, where I can eat as many strawberries as I like directly from the vine at a strawberry farm. Of course, the strawberries were so delicious and I at a bunch of them, and they were huge!

We tried to take a picture posing with a strawberry but I chomped on it right away, so we missed our photo opportunity. Well we are here to eat strawberries so that is exactly what I did!

There were so many strawberries to choose from that I was quite selective with my choices. I only chose the sweetest and juiciest strawberries. There were rows and rows of them, and three different types. I liked all of them, but the first batch we had were my favorite. They were super sweet and juicy, not tart at all!

I couldn’t get enough of them!

This was so much fun! I hope we get to do this again! Maybe next time I’ll wear a bib.

Ready to go

Today we are going to go on a “bu-bu holoholo” which means a car outing. Mommy and Daddy are taking me to go strawberry picking, so I had to end our chat with Grandma and Grandpa a bit early so that we could get started on our hour long drive. I was so excited about the outing that I got ready so quickly and just watched some TV while Mommy and Daddy got our stuff ready.

Early morning Lego

I woke up this morning and before anything else, I wanted to play with my Lego. I played with the shovel and cup and pretended to eat something from the cup and also pretended to feed the Lego doggy. Even though I wanted to play, I think this was a subtle sign that I was hungry for breakfast.

Cooking breakfast with Daddy

After being offered several choices I asked for pancakes for breakfast. Daddy went to the kitchen to cook and I followed him. I told him that I wanted to watch and help. So that’s what I did. Daddy explained everything he was doing, especially about the dangerous things. He didn’t want me to get hurt. But he also allowed me to help with the safe things like mixing. I did a pretty good job.

Nothing, something

One of the first words I learned to say was “nai” which means “it isn’t here” or “don’t have” in Japanese. I picked it up when shopping with Daddy and he was looking for something and couldn’t find it. He said, “Nai na” and I started copying him and later on started using it on my own. “Atta” is the opposite and means “it is here” or “have” and I picked that up shortly after. I use these words on a daily basis when looking for things or pointing out things. Often this comes up when eating. I’ll point to my empty bowl to show Mommy and Daddy that I’m out of food and then I’ll follow that up with “more”. Today I was goofing around and talking about having nothing in my mouth and then taking a bite of bread and then having something in my mouth.

Gatekeeper

I can be very particular and very stubborn at times. Often this means that we end up running behind schedule in the morning. Maybe I’m in a bad mood or maybe things aren’t going my way and then I get stuck in a stubborn situation.

Today I had several issues that set us back and then I got stuck at our gate. I wanted to open it but I didn’t want to open it. So Daddy went through and I got mad that I didn’t get to go through even though I didn’t try to go through. So I ended up stuck on the inside without knowing how to get through with my pride intact. In the end, Daddy talked me down from my stubborn place, I was able to open and get through the gate, and then it was off to school.
