At the park with (digital) Grandma and Grandpa

I was chatting with Grandma and Grandpa when I noticed that it was a very nice day outside, so I wanted to go to the park. When Daddy suggested we go, I immediately said bye-bye to Grandma and Grandpa. Then Daddy clarified that we could bring Grandma and Grandpa with us in the iPad. So we did just that. We showed them the way to the nearby park and then I showed them how I played. First I rode my Strider a bit, which I’m sure they were interested in watching because it was a Christmas gift from them. Then I ran around a bit. They followed me and chased me in the iPad. Then it was up and down the slide many many times. They had fun watching me play in the park and now know where it is so they can take me there when they visit.

Doggies in my shirt

I was playing with my doggies and one was happily tickling my tummy but then got caught in my shirt. I liked it! So then I called the other doggy to climb into the back of my shirt. They both enjoyed it as I walked around, twisted and climbed. They were very secure in my shirt and did not fall out. We had fun playing in this way!

Waking up early to study English

Even though it is the weekend, I woke up early and dragged Daddy out to the living room. I was actually prepared to go all by myself, but Daddy thought it best to keep an eye on me. We watched some kids’ shows and there was an English one and I listened carefully to the lessons they had. I even learned how to say “nice” from one part of the show.

After that show I started repeating “nice” a lot!

Chicken wings

I’m always interested in new food, especially when Mommy and Daddy eat it. Tonight they were eating chicken wings and I really wanted some. I actually had my own chicken, but I wanted the chicken wings they were having on the bone. I was very happy when I got a couple. I did very well at gnawing the meat off the bone. I also liked sucking on the bones to get all the flavor. It is not as easy as eating regular chicken, but it is more fun and pretty tasty . I still haven’t decided which I prefer.

Leaving school: good and bad

I’m very good at going to and leaving school. I can do a lot more like walk to school, push elevator buttons, put on and take off my shoes, and just be more involved. That’s good! I try to be more independent and I am developing new skills as I grow up. That’s good! I also love routine. That’s good! And I have a strong will. That’s good…but it can be bad at times. When I get something in my head it is hard to shake it loose and when I expect to do something, especially something part of my routine, I have to do it or else I get very upset.

Today I did a very good job putting on my shoes and leaving school, but when in the elevator I remember that I forgot to say goodbye to the wooden birds near the entrance. I got very upset. Mommy was nice enough to take me back up in the elevator just to say goodbye to the birds. It was for the best because if she hadn’t I would be crying all the way home. Yeah, I’m a good boy, but I’m not an easy boy.

High hopping to school

We were running a bit behind schedule on our way to school today and I was getting distracted by everything around me so Daddy decided to help me speed up by assisting me in high hopping. It did indeed speed us up and I had a great time, but Daddy was practically wheezing before we made to the end of the block. I kept asking for “more” but he was running out of gas. Come on Daddy, you can do it!

Playing indoors

Because of the rain we could go for our walk, but we had a lot of fun indoors. We were playing with old newspaper and we all had fun ripping it apart and rolling it into balls. We thought it was hilarious when our teacher did peekaboo by hiding her face with the newspaper and then ripping it to reveal herself! My classmates and I were all cracking up over it.

Rainy day walk to school

It was really rainy this morning which made my walk to school very interesting. Before when I was carried to school the rain didn’t matter that much, but now that I’m walking to school, it makes a difference. I don’t have any rain boots so my feet got a little wet, but at least I had a rain jacket. I was very good and walked straight to school without any of my usual distractions or detours.

Waking up alone in bed

When I wake up in the middle of the night and find Mommy and Daddy in bed I call for them to pick me up. They bring me to bed and then I have a nice long sleep. But when I wake up in the morning I sometimes feel very alone in such a big bed. But I’m a big enough boy to get up and go and find Mommy and Daddy.

Raspberries and choo-choo trains

I eat so much at dinner that by the time I finish we don’t have much time to play, but Daddy and I make the best of the time we have. Today he gave me a bunch of raspberries on my belly! I’m very ticklish there.

Another thing I like to do, but we don’t have any pictures or videos of, is going piko-to-piko, or belly button to belly button with Mommy and Daddy. I is like a sumo wrestler fist bump.

We had enough time to play choo-choo trains for a bit.

Then Daddy got tired out so I gave him a back massage.

Fun at school

Today we sang some songs and I was actively trying to learn all the hand gestures that go with it.

We also played on the mats a bit and practiced jumping. I nailed the landings. 10.0!

When it was time to clean up my classmates and I helped carry the rolled up mats to the closet to put away. I know it looks like we are using it as a battering ram against one of our classmates, but we are all carrying it and happily chanting, “yoisho, yoisho” as we go.

I introduced the wonderful word of cars to one of the younger kids. He seemed to catch on quickly. I think my passion for cars really reached him.
