When we went to the park today, our teachers brought a bunch of beach toys so that we all could play in the sandbox at the park. We had a fun time, but I felt like something was missing. Before when I played in the sand it was on the beach in Hawaii and the ocean was just over there. This is a bit less tropical feeling. I miss the ocean.
Now that it is spring, it is a lot brighter in the morning. When Daddy opened the window this morning, light just poured in. There was so much of it, I wanted to touch it!
I ate my banana and yogurt in my highchair as usual, but after I finished eating that, I wanted to get out. That didn’t mean I was done eating, I just wanted to eat on the couch.
After dinner I read books with Daddy, but then I was feeling that I needed some exercise. After all, I ate a very big dinner! So Daddy showed my some exercises and I copied him. Not only was it a lot of fun, but it was good for our health!
Yep, I’m still steering my steering wheel instead of sharing it with someone else on our walks. It’s okay, we had enough handles for everyone, even with me taking this one all to myself.
I like to say good morning to the tulips outside of my school. They are always so bright and happy early in the morning and greet my with gleeful colors. This is a good way to start my school day.
When we got home I went through Mommy’s mommy bag and found an organizer with all my medical cards and records. I went through it to make sure everything was in order. Yep, everything looks good.
Today we rode in buggies and strollers instead of walking to the park like we did yesterday. I guess our teachers don’t want to wear us out. I kind of prefer walking, but riding is quite relaxing, so I can’t complain.
Starting next month, when the new school year starts, my friends and I will be moving up into the big kids’ (2-year-old) class. (That means we’ll all turn two by the end of the next school year in March 2024). In preparation for our advancement we practiced going on big kid walks. Instead of riding in buggies and strollers, we walked to the park, holding a walking train rope. I was the only one who insisted on holding the handle like a steering wheel with two hands while everyone else held it with one and shared. I think my way was much more fun. Isn’t it safer this way with hands at 10 and 2?
One thing I noticed about walking to the park instead of riding was that I ended being a lot thirstier. Wow, that was a workout!
I eat my banana yogurt so quickly that my toasted bread doesn’t have time to cool off before I’m ready to eat it. It’s okay because I have my bread-cooling-off Daddy to make sure I don’t burn myself on hot bread.
I like to sample foods while grocery shopping, apparently grocery stores are not like Costco with some little portions of food at every corner. So we just pretended to sample the different foods we saw. The nice thing about pretend sampling is that it is all you can eat! I had fun and was even nice enough to share with Daddy.
We arrived home safely and I immediately got back into my normal swing of things. The hotel was a lot of fun and a new experience, but it is good to be home!
You can tell that I’m growing when I don’t fit on the diaper changing tables anymore. My butt barely fits on the table. Surprisingly, having the wall there to put my feet on was actually quite useful and comfortable.
We stopped by a roadside station on the way home and I had fun looking at all the different foods that they had. We didn’t end up buying anything, but it was fun just to look. I even enjoyed looking at the souvenir shop and liked pointing out the figurines, characters, and posters around the store. I also plopped myself down on the floor in front of the little toy section that they had. They a couple of cars that I thought looked interesting, but I think I have enough cars for now. Especially since these were remote control cars and I don’t think I’m old enough to control the cars even remotely.
When we left the roadside station I had a small morning snack in the car and then fell right asleep. I guess I was more tired than I thought. I slept all the way back to the city. We were originally going to have lunch before we dropped Obachan off at home, but no one wanted to disturb my much needed nap, so they let me sleep and arrived at Obachan’s house. I woke up the instant the car stopped. Since we were already there we said goodbye to Obachan and headed home.
I was getting hungry so we stopped for lunch on the way home.
We went to a restaurant call Jolly Pasta and I was definitely very jolly after eating the pasta! I had a kids’ pasta and kids’ side of french fries. Everything was delicious and I ate really well!
Despite going to sleep so late, I woke up bright and early, ready to face a fun new day! I started off my day eating breakfast in the hotel with Obachan. We ate the food that we bought at the convenience store and the food that Mommy and Daddy brought for me from home.
After breakfast we had to pack up because we were checking out of the hotel today. That’s too bad because I had a great time at the hotel. I enjoyed playing as I normally would at home. Mommy and Daddy were very proud of me for adjusting so well to the new environment and situation. I think this will ensure that we go on more trips in the future!
Mommy and Daddy are heading to a friend’s wedding today, so Obachan is coming along on our small trip to take care of me. I’m not sure where we are going but I’m sure I’ll be fine since Obachan will be there. She is my pal. We get along so well! She came over to our place and then we all left together in the car. But before we did that I had to play with her!
Then we headed off! It was a nice easy drive. There were a lot of cars to see. I was so relaxed that I dozed off pretty quickly and had a nice nap.
When we woke up we were nearly at our destination. We stopped at a convenience store to pick up some food and drink for me and Obachan then we headed to a hotel.
It was my first hotel ever and I was so excited! It was like a big bedroom and I had all kinds of new things to discover and play with. I was so excited!
When I first got to the room I was running around and checking everything out, practically bouncing off the walls. I had to open every door and check every corner. Mommy and Daddy were trying to get everything settled for me and get themselves ready for the wedding so they didn’t take a video of my first reactions. I can say that I was quite ecstatic. By the time they got a video I had calmed down and settled in a bit.
Then I got right to play ing with Obachan as Mommy and Daddy were leaving.
I was a little sad to see them go but they said they would be back and I knew I was in good hands with Obachan. I gave them hugs and waved goodbye and off they went. Then Obachan and I had a great time together!
When Mommy and Daddy came home I was very happy to see them! Obachan told them how I was such a good boy and gave her no trouble at all. I played with her, read books with her, and watched TV with her. We had a nice dinner together and I did not cry at all. Everyone was very proud of me!
We said goodnight to Obachan and Mommy and Daddy bathed me and put me to bed. The bath was a bit different than I was used to and I cried a bit, partially because it was late and I was really tired. When we went to bed I was rolling all over the place, not quite able to get to sleep. All the excitement from the new things today made me a bit overstimulated. Eventually I fell asleep and had a nice deep sleep.
