Cheerios

Sometimes my normal breakfast is not enough for me so I am still hungry. I usually get soup, cheese, or cheerios. Today I got Cheerios and ate them while watching TV. But those little O’s were cheerier than I expected and a few got away from me.

Sometimes I’m still hungry and have to supplement my supplemental breakfast.

Happy walk

The weather was so nice today that we all enjoyed a lovely walk! We were so happy since we didn’t have many walks last week because of a the rain. Even though I like playing at school, I must say that I prefer sunny day walks to rainy day indoor play!

The Outlets Kitakyushu

Today we went to visit a new outlet mall! It was complete last year and Mommy and Daddy hadn’t been there yet. It was an exciting trip because I haven’t left the city except to visit Baaba and Jiiji and to visit Grandma and Grandpa. This is my first trip to Kitakyushu! And Daddy hasn’t been there in about 4 years. It is a ways away and I comfortably fell asleep in the car on the way there. I’ve been napping in the car on most of our medium to long car rides. It is just so calming and comfortable there. The nice thing is that I’m quite rested by the time we arrive at our destination.

First thing we did when we got to the outlet mall was eat lunch. I was very happy that they gave me my toy with my kids’ meal right away so I had something to play with as I waited for my food. As usual, I enjoyed my meal and ate it all up.

After lunch we were walking around and checking out all the shops when we found a little area that had some food trucks. I was very excited to see some vehicles. Mommy found a food truck that served a warabi mochi drink, which is gaining popularity, something like boba tea. While she waited for her drink Daddy and I went exploring and found some capsule machines that I was very excited about.

Then I was distracted by Mommy’s drink because it looked very tasty. Mommy was nice enough to let me have a sip. She wondered if I would be able to drink anything from the big fat boba straw, but I had no trouble what so ever. In fact, I drank so easily and quickly that her drink level quickly went down. She should know by now that I am very proficient at any skills involving getting food into my belly.

After a few sips we got me a capsule, which I agreed to open when we got home, and then we found a nice area for me to run around. I had fun carrying it around and throwing it around a bit. I was still excited by the food trucks, which until today I had only seen in books. Isn’t it wonderful! My two favorite things together: vehicles and food!

After that we checked out few more stores and finally stopped at a shoe store. Daddy needed dress shoes for an upcoming wedding. While he shopped, I did some exploring.

And then I joined him as he tried on his shoes. I wasn’t that interested in his shopping so I was allowed to watch some Anpanman on his phone while I waited for him to finish.

Daddy picked up a nice pair of shoes on sale so our mission was accomplished. He put his shoes in the car to free his hands and Mommy and I waited near a water play area. As expected, I got wet. I dipped my foot in the water and soak my shoe. After that Mommy had to hold me back to make sure I didn’t take a full dip in the water.

We did a little more window shopping but didn’t find anything else we needed. Then it was time to head home. I had a great time shopping at the outlet mall! It was an outdoor outlet so we were happy that the weather was really nice! It was a bit sunny at times, but I was covered.

P.S. My capsule toy was a Lego-like train that Daddy helped me put together when we got home. It was a little complicated to build, but ended up being really cool!

Royal Host

We went to Royal Host, a family restaurant, for dinner. I’ve been here before and this is where I learned to like french fries and other fried foods. I was so hungry that I had to make do with water until my food came.

While waiting I also did the search-and-find on the menu and found all the items that I was supposed to look for. It was really cute. They were all food items that they had on the menu! When i found each one I would eat it off the page.

Once my food arrived I attacked it! I am so good at eating by myself that Mommy and Daddy just had to make sure to cut things into small pieces and then they would let me eat at on my own.

Everything was delicious! I ate everything up. While we were there we saw another family with two boys. They were about elementary school age, maybe around 6 and 9 or so. They ordered the same meal that I had. I thought they made a good choice. But then I realized that I’m eating meals that were most likely meant for elementary school kids, not pre-two-year-olds.

Looking around the restaurant I saw a bunch of lights and interesting decorations. It was a very nice place! Fancy!

Personal shopper

On our way back from the park we stopped to get some groceries. I was very helpful and helped Mommy and Daddy look for things and helped carry them to the cart. Sometimes I needed convincing that we didn’t need to buy certain snacks or Anpanman products, but I was a good boy and listened to Mommy and Daddy. Daddy and I went off on our own for a bit and when we picked up the bread we wanted we had the hardest time finding Mommy. We went up and down the aisle and I peeked around all the corners looking for Mommy. Each time we didn’t see her I said, “Nai na” which means “Hm, not here.” We eventually found her and I could put the groceries that I was carrying into the cart.

Choo-choo train in the park

There is a park in town that has an old choo-choo train on display, so we went to check it out. It was really cool and a lot bigger than I thought! I hadn’t realized. We couldn’t go in and walk around but we took a good look at it form the outside.

I was feeling very needy today and didn’t want to walk around. I insisted that Daddy carry me. I guess that’s for the best because the park closed earlier than we thought and we had to leave. But at least I got to see the choo-choo train. I also saw real trains at the nearby station and several planes flying over. It was a good trip to see some vehicles!

Upset about socks

Oh dear. I got very upset about my socks today. I wanted to take them off but I wanted Mommy to take them off as well. I want to do it myself but I wasn’t in a mood to do it myself and was upset that Mommy wasn’t helping and I was upset that she was helping. This was not a happy mood to be in. I suspect the reason for my mood was that I didn’t take a nap today. I just couldn’t seem to get to sleep at school. Maybe I was overexcited, or maybe I wasn’t tired because I woke up late today. Either way, I was not a happy camper.

Also, I was hungry and that put me in a mood. But because I was in a mood I wouldn’t let Mommy go and get my food. I put Mommy in a very difficult situation.

Flowers and finding

We had a nice walk to the park today and saw some pretty flowers. We even found some cool things in the grass. Now that it is almost spring, there are a lot more plants for us to discover. I’m getting excited about the upcoming cherry blossom season. I can’t wait to se sakura again!

Last to wake

Mommy and Daddy suspect that I might be growing again. I’ve been eating and sleeping a lot more than usual as of late. I wonder how much bigger I can get. I’m already pretty big for my age. I’m not even two yet, but I look as big as some 3-year-olds.

Fast eater

Often I eat very quickly, almost to a point where it is no longer safe. Mommy and Daddy don’t want me to choke so they tell me to slow down or take smaller bites, but I can’t hold back. I’m hungry and everything tastes so good! Mommy, if you want me to slow down, then don’t make food that is so tasty!

Joining English lesson

Today my class joined the older kids’ class for their English lesson. They have an English lesson every week and we had joined in for parts of the lesson here and there. But since we will be moving up to the big kids’ class in April, we stayed for the whole lesson to get used to it. I already liked the English lessons when I watched from afar and now that I can join in on the English lessons, I like it even more! I especially like the English songs that we learn! Since home is an English speaking environment, the English lesson isn’t difficult at all, but it is fun to be there with all my classmates!
