When I wake up early and eat my breakfast and get ready quickly, I have a lot of time to play and watch some TV. So that is exactly what I do.

Just finishing the day with a bedtime book. I nice way to end a great day!

Recently I like to pretend play with my doggies. I like to include them in all my play and learning. So tonight I played cars with them, shared with them, and even had them join me to read some books.
When I eat, I often tell Mommy and Daddy what I want. After I finish eating I’ll sign that I want apples or oranges. Sometimes during a meal I’ll sign for milk. If I want more food, which is almost always, I’ll sign and say so. Sometimes I have to remind Mommy that although she made me a delicious dinner, she forgot to give me my tea. I say, “Ju, ju” to let her know. For some reason I call my tea “ju” for juice I think.
I also assign seating at meals. I usually want Daddy to sit on the blue chair in front of me and Mommy to sit on the pink chair to the side. I’ll allow Mommy to sit in the blue chair when Daddy is not around, but when he comes home I quite rudely kick Mommy out of the chair.

As usual, when we went for our walk at school today, I was on alert for any vehicles we may see. I’m usually the first to spot buses going by or airplanes flying overhead. And I’m also the first to hear certain vehicles as well. I’m actually quite good at identifying vehicles based on the sound. At home I tell Mommy and Daddy that I hear airplanes, ambulances, cars, or motorcycles. Today at the park I ran all the way over to my teacher to tell her that I heard an ambulance. Then after my job was done I returned to my post to find other vehicles.

Mommy was getting my stuff ready for school when she found me sitting at Daddy’s desk getting some work done. I had some time before school, so I figured why not sneak in some work time. Mommy was impressed that I climbed up onto the office chair and pulled myself up to the desk all by myself without any help or supervision.

I like raisin bread, emphasis on the raisins. Sure, I like bread too. But I love picking out all the raisins and eating them first.

It has been a while since we saw Baaba and Jiiji so I left school early and hopped on a train with Mommy to go visit them. They were so happy to see me. I was also very happy to see them and did not cry at all when I saw them. I’ve warmed up to them and we eased right into playing and learning together.
Jiiji showed me stuff around the house and I was really curious about everything. Especially whenever I saw mini animal figurines on things like keychains. I got very excited!

Obachan was also there and we played together as we always do. She is my buddy!

Perhaps the highlight of the visit was dancing with Baaba. It wasn’t planned and there wasn’t even music. I just decided to dance and she jumped in and joined me.

(We don’t have any video, just a short clip from live photos)
It was a great visit and I can’t wait for the next one!

I’m all ready to go to nursery school! And we have a few minutes until we have to leave. That means there is time to play with my cars.

The title of this post says it all. We were reading one of my books and pretend eating the watermelons on the page, and even though there was enough for both of us, Daddy ate the imaginary watermelon that I was eating. I was not happy about that.
Luckily he learned his lesson and did not try to eat my imaginary ice cream. Then I would have been really upset.

I love playing with my cars. They are still my favorite toys! I love them so much that I have to show my affection by giving them kisses sometimes.
I really like my soup! I’m also so good at using a spoon I can actually get every last drop all by myself. But my spoon is pretty shallow so it takes a while. It is especially hard to get soup in my spoon when it is low. So I figured out that if I swish it around and make waves, I can get more soup in my spoon. The things I discover and learn for the sake of eating.

I have a pretty big belly. It is especially big after I eat. Mommy and Daddy were curious about how big it was so Daddy grabbed the tape measure. When I saw it, I backed up against my growth chart because I recognized it and thought he was going to measure my height. Since I was there, he measured my height and then my belly. I’m just under 85 cm (33.5 in.) and my waist is just under 60 cm (23.6 in.) That means my waist is about 2/3 my height. Hmmm, I’m pretty sure that is not a ratio I want to keep when I grow up.
There was a time when I wanted Daddy to bathe me every day and I would kick Mommy out of the bathroom. Now all that has flipped and for the past few weeks it has been all Mommy bathing me and Daddy getting kicked out. None of us know why I decided to switch, but we are all just rolling with it.

We like to laugh and play in our household. There is a lot of teasing going on. I learned that sometimes you playfully do things you know you shouldn’t and it becomes funny. LIke when I’m supposed to wipe my hands and face and bite the wet wipe instead.
Or when Daddy unbuckles me from my high chair when I’m done eating and I buckle myself right back in.
I think I ‘m a pretty observant kid. I like looking around and spotting things that I recognize. At meals I often look around while chewing and see objects or shapes that I recognize.

I’m slowly adding pretend play to my favorite playtime things. Daddy makes my doggies come alive and they talk to me, play with me, and participate in all kinds of different things. I like it when they play for me, but I feel that they are still small and young and that I should take care of them. So I try to involve them in play a lot and teach them how to do things. It is nice to have playmates!
The older I get, the more I want to do things on my own. I have been buckling myself into my high chair for a while and feeding myself quite skillfully, but I still can’t seem to get my bib on by myself.

There is a play land nearby and we have never tried it, even though it is right above our usual supermarket. It was a bit rainy today, so we decided to check it out.

I’m sure it is no surprise to you that I spent most of my time with the cars they had there. There was an ice cream truck that I could ride in, but I had a hard time scooting around. So I just got in and out of it repeatedly for nearly 20 minutes.
Mommy and Daddy tried to get me to try the other areas and toys, but I was set on playing with the car. They were finally able to lure me away to the jungle gym, which I didn’t climb, but explored.
I tried the bouncy castle a bit, but it was a little too bouncy for me.
Then it was back to vehicles. I played a racing game with Daddy and did a pretty good job steering. I could reach the pedals so Daddy took care of that (and most of the steering too).

Then we found a game where I could drive a train! I was transfixed on everything! The controls, the tracks, the passing trains, everything! It was so cool to drive a train!

And finally I checked out what they call “medal games”. Basically you use tokens to get more tokens so you can play more. The tokens were included in the entrance fee so I could play a bunch of mini games. It was pretty interesting.
But the real treat came after our time was up at the play land. Just outside there was an Anpanman ride. It was like an Anpanman space capsule. I wanted to ride it before we went into the play land and was told that I could ride it after. Mommy and Daddy kept their promise and there I was, operating an Anpanman space capsule!
