I’m really liking the free samples I get from Kodomo Challenge. Shimajiro, the main character in the series, is very interesting and teaches me a lot of valuable lessons. I also really enjoy his educational toys and DVD. I’m seriously considering subscribing. I’m just checking the ad to be sure what is available.
Sensitive

As I grow up, I understand a lot more and have a lot more things that I want. Sometimes dealing with wanting something and not getting it can be difficult. I can be very sensitive at times and shed tears in an instant if things don’t go the way I want. It is frustrating dealing with these emotions. Some days it might be that I want to wear a certain shirt but it is not washed, so I cry. Other times I want to press the elevator button, but Mommy or Daddy forget and push it before me, and I cry. Often when I’m scolded for doing something that I’m not supposed to do or for not listening to Mommy and Daddy I feel really bad and tears start to flow. Mommy and Daddy are very understanding of my feelings and emotions. They try to be aware of my position and reasons and acknowledge my feelings. But I still don’t necessarily get what I want.
For example, this morning I was playing with my Legos and I was being silly. I was taking the door off of the frame with a mischievous smile and made Daddy repair it. Daddy got the game and fix the door for me at least a dozen times. He knew it was all in good fun but did not want me to get carried away with doing rascally things so he gave me a limit of how many more times he would fix the door. I could still take it off, but then it was up to me to fix. I was aware of the final warning but when Daddy didn’t fix it and tried to show me how to do it I started crying. Mainly because I was embarrassed and knew that I had been given more than ample forewarning. I quickly as the tears come, they fade away as Daddy came up with a different way to play with my Legos and then I was fine. This growing up thing can be tough, but I’m glad I can do so in a safe and nurturing environment.
Yakiniku & ice cream
We went to eat yakiniku and I was so excited. I had been to this restaurant before so I knew what wonderful eating I had in store for me. I couldn’t contain my excitement, so while we were waiting for our food I was practicing eating. I didn’t want to waste any time or food with sloppy eating.

I ate a lot of corn and spaghetti again, just like last time. I also ate up all the meat given to me. Everything tasted so good. But nothing could beat dessert. I got to eat ice cream! I’ve only had ice cream a few times, so this was quite a treat. You can see in my face how much I enjoyed it!

At the park

Song requests
I like when Daddy sings my Wheels on the Bus song to me with different vehicles and parts. Luckily I can sign and tell Daddy exactly how I want him to sing the songs.
Heart shape

A lot of my dishes, toys, and books have hearts on them and I saw Daddy making a heart shape with his hands. I’m tried to do the same thing but it was pretty difficult. I’ll keep working on my heart shapes.
Titipo

There is a show on Netflix that is all about trains and it is now one of my favorite shows! Not only do the trains talk, but they are friends and deal with all kinds of issues. It is like a new Thomas & Friends. I can actually sit there and watch entire episodes and be thoroughly entertained! I even love the intro song!
Sign language

My communication skills are getting better and better every day. Not only do I understand more, I’m also speaking a little bit more and signing more. Recently we’ve been practicing signing colors. My favorite one is “orange” because I can use it to sign for the food orange and for the color. When Mommy asks me what jacket I want to wear or tries to put a different color one on me, I sign “orange” to let her know I want the orange jacket.
I have been able to say “blue” for quite a while and can repeat purple. I’m working on saying yellow. But today I surprised Daddy by signing “pink” out of the blue at dinner. I pointed at something pink and signed pink. I did it again when we were playing with Magnatiles. My vocabulary is growing a lot!
Lip-smacking good dinner

Walking home from school

Relaxing before dinner

Today was a long day, so when I got home I didn’t really want to do anything. I just wanted to sit back, relax, and watch some TV until dinner. Aaaah, now that’s the stuff.
English lesson at nursery school a walk in the park

Our class got to join in the big kids’ English lesson at school today. I really enjoyed it! We sang the finger family song and I was pretty good at doing the hand gestures. The language was pretty easy for me since I mainly speak English at home. The English lesson was a walk in the park
Speaking of which, I had a fun time on our walk in the park!

Stacking cups

There are so many things that I’m getting better at. I have so much more control over my hands and fingers that I can do things like put together Lego pieces and stack cups quite steadily.
Eating up dinner

I was quite hungry and ate a great dinner! I worked up quite an appetite. There were some rocky times today, but I had a great time with Mommy. It’s been great spending time with Mommy, but I hope I can go to school tomorrow. I miss my teachers and friends and can’t wait to see them!
Picnic in the park with Mommy

The weather was pretty nice today, so Mommy and I went for a nice picnic in the park. After a snack, we walked around, played on the rockers and slide. It was nice to be outside and I had a great time!

I chose a weird time and a weird thing to throw a fit over today. Mommy was changing my diaper but all of a sudden I wasn’t happy with the situation. I kept telling Mommy that I wanted to do it, but obviously I couldn’t change my own diaper. I grabbed the diaper away from her and threw it on the side, crying the whole time. I must have been tired because I’m usually fine with diaper changed. I can’t tell you what was happening. Eventually I calmed down and Mommy changed my diaper, but it took a while. It was not one of my proudest moments.
Opening and closing doors

I keep getting these freebie samples that have Shimajiro on them. I find them to be both very entertaining and educational. And since they are freebies I don’t mind when they get all bent out of shape and we have to throw them away.
