Subway ride

I had to stay home from school again today but I was growing tired of staying home. So Mommy took me on the subway to run some errands. It was a bit of a short ride but I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t want to get off. Mommy kind of had to drag me off.

Lego soup

I love playing with my Legos. My lego car is still often the center of my Lego play, but I also like to build things too. I’m getting very good at putting pieces together and building large towers. I also like to play with the figurines. Today we were playing with the cup and shovel and pretending it was soup. That’s the beauty of Legos; it is powered by our imagination!

Sick day at the park

I had to stay home from school today because I still have a bit of diarrhea. I’ve had a couple of normal poos, but also still had some diarrhea. The stomach bug has been going through my nursery school, which is where I got it, so the school is being very cautious about when they let kids back. But I was feeling fine, so instead of just lounging around the house, as seen above, Mommy took me to the park!

Yeah, I know, I don’t look sick, do I? But safety first!

Strider: First ride

I was all ready for my first ride on the Strider! But safety first. Despite how much I did not want to wear my helmet before, now that I actually was about to ride my Strider I did not put up any fuss about putting it on. I knew I had to wear a helmet when I rode my Strider (since Mommy and Daddy showed me videos explaining about bike safety), I just didn’t want to wear the helmet if it wasn’t necessary.

After a couple of spins around the car, I was ready to go!

I know I wasn’t exactly zooming around, but I think I did pretty good for my first ride. I wasn’t quite striding, but I was walking very well. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. Thank you so much for the Christmas gift, Grandma and Grandpa! I love it! Before you know it I’ll be flying around here and there! But for now, I enjoy the nice afternoon stroll on my Strider!

New Strider

There was a delivery yesterday and we finally opened it today. I turns out that this is my Christmas gift from Grandma and Grandpa! I thought that all the cool stuff the got for me in Hawaii was my Christmas gift! What a nice surprise! They knew they wanted to get me a Strider or a kiddie push-tricycle, but weren’t sure which to get. Mommy and Daddy have been checking my interests in both over the last couple of months and they finally decided that I’m a bit too old for a push-tricycle and opted for the Strider. As you can see I’m very interested in it. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to ride it, but at least I’m not afraid of it.

Light lunch

I know it may look like Daddy and I are saying grace before lunch, but actually I’m just checking out his Apple Watch while waiting for Mommy to make my lunch. I’m still taking it easy on my tummy and eating only easily digestible foods. It is a bit of a light lunch just to be on the safe side.

Vehicle songs in the morning

I’m feeling better this morning despite my stomach bug. But to be honest, even with all the diarrhea and vomiting yesterday, I felt pretty good, energetic, and was in a good mood. This morning I’m choosing foods carefully, hoping not to make my tummy feel worse, but other than that I’m enjoying my normal lazy, but playful, Sunday morning.

When playing with my vehicles I asked Daddy to sing me my vehicle songs based on The Wheels on the Bus tune.

Then I browsed some books, making sure to put them back on the bookshelf when I was done.

I did some dancing, but then I quickly transitioned to some buckling.

And I also felt a little crazy and was yelling while playing bye-bye with Daddy. It is good to just let it all out sometimes!

Morning crackers

I woke up feeling much better than before. I wasn’t 100% yet, but better. I woke Daddy up and told him I wanted to go to the living room. He took me and asked me if I wanted breakfast but I said no. That should be a sign that I was not feeling good because I don’t ever turn down food. Daddy suspected that my tummy was still a bit queazy and suggested I eat crackers, which I thought was a great idea. I had a nice relaxing cracker breakfast with Daddy on the couch while watching cartoons on a Sunday morning!

Throwing up

My stomach bug got worse. I still have diarrhea and my diapers kept leaking so I had to change my clothes a lot today. I was feeling good and happy, but I kept having surprise poops that got everywhere. When my tummy settled a bit Daddy and I decided to go grocery shopping. The parking lot was full so after a few laps we gave up and headed to a different supermarket.

On the way I coughed a bit and Daddy asked me if I was okay. He could see part of my head in the rearview mirror nod. I had been very talkative up until that point but then I got really quiet. Daddy asked me if I pooped. He saw me shake my head no. When we got to the supermarket, he opened the car door to see that I had thrown up on myself. It is very rare for me. I threw up maybe only once before in my life when I had a very bad fever. I was fine, but just surprised. Daddy started cleaning me up but I started to sense that he was worried so I started to cry and ask for Mommy. This made things difficult because after cleaning me up he had to get me back in my carseat but I was not having it because I wanted to see Mommy. But to see Mommy I had to get in my car seat. Daddy finally got me to calm down and into my carseat. Then we were headed back home without stepping foot in a store on our grocery shopping outing.

I was talkative again on the ride home and was back in a good mood when I saw Mommy. We told her what happened. She was worried about me but I appeared to be okay, so I was given dinner. I ate quite well, since I had had an empty stomach. Just as I was finishing dinner I had a threw up again, but luckily most of it was caught in my bib. Still, I was done with dinner, a bit messed from throwing up, so I headed straight to the bath. I had a nice fun and clean bath and came out feeling refreshed. But soon after I had my pajamas on I threw up again. Again, I did not cry or panic or anything. It was weird to see food coming out of my mouth instead of going in, but I felt a little better so I didn’t mind too much. I was stripped of my pajamas and cleaned up a bit. Once had my diapers on, I threw up again. I didn’t mess up any clothes, but it went all over my chest and tummy, and even my feet. This stomach bug was really wreaking havoc on my system. I was whisked back to the bath for a quick wash. I came out feeling clean and much better. My the time I was dressed I was smiling again, no longer looking woozy. I went through my bedtime routine and was put to be without trouble. Mommy and Daddy kept a close I on me through the baby monitor, but I went to sleep quite quickly, worn out form all the pooping and vomiting during the day. I had a nice long sleep with no more pooping or vomiting for the day.

It was a long day, but despite all the messy excretions, I still had a lot of smiles, laughs, and fun! Daddy was a trooper, not feeling so hot himself (probably with a milder case of the bug that Mommy and I had), but still taking care of me, playing with me, keeping my spirits high, and washing who knows how many poop and vomit covered clothes and seat covers. Mommy had a good rest and is likely to be back on her feet tomorrow. And even though I would like to be done with my stomach bug, chances are that this isn’t over yet. But I’ll still do my best to be good boy and make the best out of a bad situation.

I woke up in the middle of the night and Mommy and Daddy brought me into their bed. There I finished my good long night’s sleep and thanked Daddy for all his loving care by sleeping with my foot in his face. It was out of love. I just wanted the connection.

Warming up at the park

It seems that Mommy caught my stomach bug. She is not feeling very good today. So Daddy’s taking care of me today. We played a bunch this morning and once it warmed up out side we went to the park. It warmed up more than we expected and I had to take my jacket off.

We saw a bunch of vehicles while at the park today: airplanes, trains, trucks, cement mixers, cranes, taxis, etc… What a fun time!
