I’m learning how to count. I have a lot of books that have numbers and counting and I even practice counting with the ones that don’t have numbers. Mommy and Daddy ask me a lot of questions about my books like how many butterflies there are and what color the tractor is. I can’t always answer correctly, but I try. When we count to high numbers, I don’t say the right words, but I still count along, “Da da da da da” matching the timing. But I am getting better at saying one and two. Sometimes I just show one finger for one, but my “two” is becoming quite clear.
Bringing my dishes to the ktichen

As much as I can, I try to help around the house. Today Daddy asked me to take my dishes to the kitchen and I did so eagerly and happily. And then I went back to get my utensils, bib, and mug. Mommy and Daddy were very proud of me and I was proud of myself too. I was a good boy and helped out! Yay for me!
Playing in the sand

We had a fun time playing in the sand on our walk to the park today. It might not have been the best timing since I was wearing my brand new shoes, but I guess I’d have to break them in eventually. Our teachers brought all kinds of sand toys and we got really into our sand play. There was not much conversation, just the sound of sand.
Walking to school can be tough

I like walking to school, but that doesn’t mean it is easy to walk to school. There are a lot of distractions and things that I want to do beside head to school. This can make it difficult for Mommy. For the most part I’m good, but there are difficult times as well. There are times where she just has to scoop me up and carry me to school.
Too busy to say goodbye

When I’m in a good mood in the morning I go right to playing after I finish eating my breakfast. Sometimes I don’t finish everything and get back to finishing my bread roll after I play a bit. I get so into playing that I don’t even want to change my clothes. Some times I almost miss Daddy leaving for work because I’m so focused on playing. I eventually run after him and give him a goodbye hug, fist bump, and wave at the door.
Practicing colors

I can say blue quite easily now, but I still have trouble saying other colors. We were practicing with a cool book that Mommy borrowed from my school. It was about different colored cars. I can recognize most of the colors and am getting better at repeating them. But I still have a long way to go.
Stacking a variety of toys

Toy shopping

I got a generous cash gift with my Valentine’s card from Grandma and Grandpa and I was allowed to go toy shopping today. I had a hard time deciding what to get, especially with so many Anpanman toys. But what I really wanted was a toy ambulance and toy helicopter. I’ve been talking about them a lot this week after spotting both of them. I don’t have any ambulance or helicopter toys, so I decided to get a couple of Tomycars, which are like Hotwheels.

Door peeking
New shoes and driving practice

We were chatting with Grandma and Grandpa and Daddy was telling them how I got new shoes. They were concerned because they could see how big my feet were getting and how I’ve been walking to and from school. Daddy told me that I should get my shoes and show them to Grandma and Grandpa, but I misunderstood and thought that we were going out. I was about to throw a tantrum when we settled on a compromise of driving practice in the car.

Grandma and Grandpa were very impressed with how well my driving practice was going. I was turning the wheel like an experienced driver and made sure to fiddle with every button and lever within my reach. I think after a couple more lessons I’ll be ready to hit the road.
Relaxing chat

Daddy had an arrangement to talk to Lauren today and I got so excited that I tried to barge in. After giving Daddy some space and letting him chat, he came back and included me in the chat with the whole family! I was happy to see them and missed them very much. It is nice to be able to chat over FaceTime, but it is just not the same.
Singing “dun-dan”
Just playing
Anpanman Omurice

Mommy made me a special dinner tonight: Anpanman Omurice. I love Anpanman and I love food, so this made me very happy. You would think that I would be hesitant to eat the face of a beloved character, but you would be wrong. I very quickly and eagerly dug right into Anpanman’s ketchup decorated eggy face.

Trainspotting at the park
Helping grocery shopping

When we go grocery shopping I like to help when I can. Daddy and I found a nice steak for dinner so I helped out. I carried the steak and was looking for Mommy, who had the cart. We eventually found her, but I got a little distracted on the way. Oops.
Excited about going holoholo
Basket seat

Just taking a rest from playing by sitting on the laundry basket. I’m sure that Mommy and Daddy would prefer I didn’t do this, but it is still better than me dumping all the laundry out, which I do from time to time.
Anpanman Potty

I love my Anpanman potty but I’m not so fond of going potty just yet. I have been going to the bathroom to say hi and to play with my Anpanman potty, but it is not the best place to play so I have started taking my potty out to the living room to play with. It is much cleaner and spacious there.
Studying up on my sign language

I always see Daddy checking this ASL dictionary and figured that I had better study up as well.
