Going out to eat

Instead of a toy, I chose some stickers to go with my kids’ meal.

It looks like a lot of food, but now that I know I like french fries and fried shrimp, I’m sure I’ll eat this all up.

Sure enough, I ate everything up. I even had some of Daddy’s fish too. But then I was eyeing Daddy’s lemon for some reason. I’ve had lemons before and have never liked them. But I thought I’d give it another try.

Nope, I still don’t like it. Too sour!

Loving wheels on the bus

I love the song Wheels on the Bus! It’s my jam! I’m constantly making him sing the song. Before I would ask him to sing by gesturing opening and closing doors. Recently I’m getting getting better of using the proper sign for “sing” and even specify which vehicle I want him to sing about: bus, car, train, airplane, etc..

But it turns out that the song is not Daddy’s original and that it is quite a famous kids’ song. And now I know that it doesn’t have to be Daddy who sings the song for me to enjoy it.

In need of suspenders

My pants kept falling down today. Maybe it was because it was heavy with pee or maybe because I was scratching a lot and it pushed my pants down. Or maybe I have to face the fact that my belly is so big that my waist band slips under it instead of staying over it. I think I’m in need of some suspenders.

Visiting Baaba for her birthday

We went to visit Jiiji and Baaba today. Yesterday was Baaba’s birthday so we wanted to celebrate with her in person. When we got to their house I didn’t cry like I used to, but I was very shy. I buried my face into Daddy’s shoulder. He took me outside for a bit and I had fun looking at Jiiji and Baaba’s plants and climbing their steps. It gave me some time to get used to the house again.

We all headed out to lunch where we met Obachan and had a great meal together. Naturally I finished everything on my plate, even the French fries and fried shrimp that I wasn’t too fond of before. Now I like them a lot! Since I got the kids’ meal I also got to choose a toy. They didn’t have a car this time so I chose an airplane.

I wasn’t quite full after eating my my meal so I had some of Daddy’s chawanmushi. It was the first time I tried it. The texture was like tofu, but the flavor was very tasty! There was a lot of umami flavor!

After lunch we headed back to Jiiji and Baaba’s house. We talked, played, and ate more snacks. Jiiji and Baaba had fun watching me and interacting with me. Jiiji was really trying to connect with me but I was not being very friendly. I would shake my head when he asked me anything. I just need more time to get used to interacting with him. I had fun in the room and even explored a little into other rooms. Before I knew it it was time to go. Before we left we took some family photos. I think they turned out pretty good.

Then I gave Jiiji and Baaba a big hug goodbye and thanked them for their hospitality. I really had a great time there!

I think my visit was a great birthday gift for Baaba!

Missing Mommy

Mommy left to meet a former coworker and I was not happy about it. I’ve grown very comfortable with my bedtime routine and don’t like any disruptions to it. But in the end I was fine and had a great time with Daddy. I just had to show Mommy that I would miss her a lot.

Shoes

I can’t quite put my shoes on all by myself, but I can get them from the shoe box, sit down with them, and get ready to have them put on my feet. Then I walk home with Mommy. I rather not be carried these days and prefer to walk home on my own two feet.
