I think everyone was a bit surprised that I hadn’t tried to raid the fridge before. Well, now I know where the food is and how to get to it. What am I going to do with this knowledge?

Dinner is done but I’m still at the dining table. I’m only partly hoping for more food. It is mainly just to play with my trains with Mommy.

We had some time before dinner so I took it easy and played on some chairs. First I literally played on one and then I put my cards on one and played there.

Bath time is so much more fun with my bath cars! I don’t really remember being washed, but when we are done I’m all clean. That works for me.

Even after all that car play in the bath, I still can’t get enough of them. I am pretty much playing with, reading about, or thinking of cars all they way up until it is time to go to sleep.

After such an exciting day I couldn’t settle down, so Mommy and Daddy took me to the shopping center to walk around and burn some energy.

It worked because I got too tired to walk and wanted to be carried. And when Daddy carried me I stole his glasses again. That’s just what I do now.
After we got back from our walk we found out that Grandpa had to run a quick errand to Costco. So we tagged along and I helped him push the cart.

Daddy’s high school friends (the NerdHerd) and their families stopped by today. They try to get together whenever Daddy is back on the island. I had fun when they came over last summer and when I met everyone for the first time. But I wasn’t very social then. I just kind of did my own thing while everyone played or talked around me. I think I did better this time and mingled a bit more. I found myself in more conversations and just spending more time with everyone. As usual, everyone was having such a great time and was so caught up in talking and catching up that we don’t have many pictures or videos from the day. All I can tell you is that we all had a great time!
The only pictures we have are from the end when we took a group picture and when I surprised everyone by being a good host and started giving people high fives goodbye. It was mainly because I learned from Lucas, who is 8 months older than me. He was giving people high fives, knuckles, and even hugs. I liked that and I wanted to be like him. So I decided to be more like him starting with him. He showed me how it’s done.

Lucas is such a good teacher that I picked it up right away. Then I started to spread the love around through high fives.

I had a great day and I can’t wait to see everyone again!

When I woke up this morning I wasted no time and started to play with Lauren right away. I didn’t even bother changing my clothes or eating breakfast. I wanted to play first.
Even after I was fed and got ready I still wanted to play with her so I kind of always found away to position myself next to her to see what she was up to.

I stole Daddy’s glasses again. I don’t need them to see, and they actually may be making my eyesight worse. It is a fashion statement for me. I know they are Daddy’s but I look so much better in them!
We were running some errands and one stop was pretty short so I just waited in the car. I was being a very good boy but I started to get bored. Luckily Daddy got back to the truck just in time and started to entertain me from the truck bed.
I did some card matching again today. I often start off very strong and then slowly lose interest and wander off to do something else. That’s what happened today.
I moved on to grabbing jackets and such and dragging them around the house. I wasn’t putting them away or anything. This was not tidying up. It was just me having fun.

I surprised everyone when I didn’t want to eat poi the first few days of this visit. I ate so much during my summer visit that they thought I would be thrilled to have the chance to eat it again. But I kept refusing it. But then I remember what it was and once I got a taste I once again could not get enough of it. More poi please!

I’m a pretty good climber and people don’t realize that I don’t fall very often and when I do, I fall in a safe way. But I don’t blame them for being nervous when I climb things like the back of Grandpa’s chair. I may not fall, but I didn’t really think it through because the chair might topple over or recline suddenly. Oh well. Nothing happened and I’m fine. All’s well that ends well.
Even from my first visit to Hawaii, I enjoyed sitting with everyone at the big dining table and joining in the mealtime conversation. I’ve been sitting at the dining table a lot more this trip. Pretty much for every meal. I love it when I can communicate with my cousins there. They talk to me, entertain me, and teach me. Sometimes I end up teaching them things too!

Grandma and Grandpa’s house has a huge backyard and it is so easy just to step out and enjoy the outdoors. Back in Japan we actually have walk a bit to get to parks in order to run around or just bask in the sun. Now all that fun is just outside the door. I like to wander, run, and kick the ball around.
Today I noticed that the wading pool was still there and it was just begging me to play in it. So I obliged…fully clothed. First I leaned over the edge and splashed around with my hands. Then I stepped in and got my feet wet. Next thing you know I’m just sitting there and enjoying the pool as I normally would, but without changing into my swimsuit first. I had a great time! Although I did notice that my diaper was a tad bit heavy after all that time in the pool. Lauren came in and joined me, but she had the sense to change into appropriate clothing first.
I’ve heard the phrase “airing out dirty laundry”, but why would anyone want to do that? Wouldn’t that make the air dirty? I much prefer airing out clean laundry. It is much more sanitary and it smells fresh!

One of the benefits of having so much family in the house is that I can ask a lot of people to read to me or to entertain me. All I have to do is walk up to them with a book and they’ll offer to read to me. All I have to do is peek at people’s iPads and then they’ll show me what they’re doing. It is nice to have so many people willing to entertain me.
I might be using “entertain” loosely because one of the things that I asked Grandpa to read was the instruction manual from the train set I got from Santa. This was just to understand my toy better.
I just can’t get enough of the helicopters. At my request, Grandpa took me to the heliport again. Now that I know it is there, I know what to ask for.

I started to climb the step stool today and found that I can do it pretty easily. I get the feeling that not everyone is happy that I can do this. I sense a lot of nervousness.
