Decorating the Christmas Tree

We decorated the Christmas tree today! It had been sitting there with only lights for a few days now and I though that was weird. All the other Christmas trees I’ve seen around town have had more decorations than just lights. I was so happy when I heard that we were decorating the tree today. I surprised Mommy and Daddy by knowing exactly what to do with the ornaments.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reach the higher parts of the tree and some the ornaments were a bit tangled, but I didn’t let it stop me.

I think the tree looks pretty good!

We have a more ornaments to put up, but Mommy and Daddy will take care of those. They are sentimental ornaments and might break, so I’ll leave those to Mommy and Daddy.

Next I want to put up some more Christmas lights.

Opening Hot Wheels advent calendar

I look forward to opening a new panel of my Hot Wheels advent calendar every night. Some nights I get new Hot Wheels cars which is really exciting. Sometimes the panel only has a car part or prop, which is not as exciting. Still, I like opening things to find surprises. Mommy and Daddy are hinting that it is good that I enjoy opening stuff and that Christmas morning will be a lot of fun. I’m not really sure what they mean, but it sounds exciting!

Bread and pasta

Tonight we went to a very cool pasta restaurant that serves freshly baked bread. I like pasta and I like bread, so I was very excited about dinner. Then I found out that the bread was all-you-can-eat and that since I’m under three, I got the bread for free! Now that is a good deal!

I enjoyed the pasta a lot because it was corn cream spaghetti and I had never had it before. It tasted delicious! But as good as the pasta was, the bread was awesome! There were a lot of different flavors and I tried as many as I could. In total, I had 6 pieces of bread! I think that is more than many grownups normally eat. What a great dinner!

Snack and slide at the park

After I woke up from my nap Daddy and I visited the park. First things first, we had our snacks. (Daddy had a snack too). While snacking I had fun watching the trains zooming by. I like this park because it is close, open, has a fun slide, and because it is near the train tracks.

After my snack I headed straight for the slides. I was all smiles when sliding down!

Showing Grandma and Grandpa my curiosity and creativity

While chatting with Grandma and Grandpa I started to venture off and look for something to do. I wanted to show off my curiosity and creativity. Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed watching me. They were laughing and shaking their heads wondering what I was thinking.

I love exploring and discovering. While talking to Grandma and Grandpa I decided to explore one of the pantry containers. I was pretty sure it had food. So I went digging and tunneling in.

I also did some climbing on boxes. It made Daddy nervous, but he was also impressed at how nimble I was while climbing up there.

Bus watching and walking

Our trips to the part at nursery school are getting colder, but we are still enjoying it a lot. We love watching the buses go by (a trend I’d like to think I started).

And we all like walking around. We are all getting better on our feet and soon will be running around. We already toddle pretty fast. I don’t think our teachers will be able to keep up with us once we start running.

Mastering matching

I really enjoy my matching cards! Not only do they have a lot of cool vehicles on them, but they are challenging and educational. My matching skills are getting better and better. I can pretty much match everything in the deck nowadays. The last few are usually a bit harder because they are not my favorite vehicles and I don’t always get around to them. But I can still manage.

Christmas tree is up

The Christmas tree is up and just waiting to be decorated. We plan to put the ornaments up this weekend. It looks a bit bare without any ornaments, but I really like the Christmas lights! I like looking at the Christmas decorations popping up around town. It really puts me in the holiday spirit.

Ebi chili

To top of my full teishoku meal, I had a bonus main course of ebi chili. We’re slowly introducing new foods into my diet and hoping for no allergic reactions. I was fine with the shrimp and actually really liked it! I wanted more, but I only got a few bites this time around. I’m pretty sure the next time I have it I’ll get a lot more.

Teishoku with two hands

Daddy made me an udon teishoku for dinner tonight. I had ma-bo nasu (eggplant) donburi and udon with veggies. I was so excited about my special meal that one hand and one utensil at a time was not good enough. I had both hands working their own utensils to get as much food in my mouth as possible without any breaks. It might not be the best table manners, but it is very efficient. One-handed or two, I think my improvement with using utensils is apparent.
