Umi no Nakamichi: Photos

Umi no Nakamichi is also known for being a great photo spot. With all the different scenic backgrounds it is no wonder why people like taking pictures here. Mommy’s pregnancy photos and photos a year after that were taking in Umi no Nakamichi in front of the sakura. At this time of year the cosmos were in full bloom. So we took a bunch of photos.

Umi no Nakamichi: Wandering

Umi no Naka Michi is a large park and there are a lot of grassy fields to have a picnic, run around, play sports, or wander around in. I chose to wander.

I loved it because it was so open and big that there was a lot of wandering for me to do. Mommy and Daddy liked it because they could keep an eye on me without having to chase after and tail me. They were impressed and worried about how bold and brave I was all on my own.

Umi no Nakamichi: Zoo

We went to Umi no Nakamichi today, which is a large park area in the city. There are a lot of sections to it, including a camping area, water park, flower gardens, obstacle course, bicycle routes, and a zoo. Today our first and main stop was the zoo. It was my first visit to a zoo and even though it was a relatively small zoo, I really enjoyed it!

We spotted a turtle on the way to the zoo and stopped by to say hello.

Then I found some tracks and started to track them to the zoo. Once there we saw all kinds of animals.

There were some very noisy parrots at the entrance.

We saw a lot of capybara just lounging around. I was brave enough to touch one that was out in the open. Its fur was very hard and bristly, like broom. I touched it so quickly that we don’t have a video of it, just a picture. But I was very interested in the capybara and watched them very closely.

And a bunch of very active squirrel monkeys.

There was a petting area and I touched all the animals that I could reach. Those that I couldn’t reach I just observed.

I even pet a very friendly pony!

But once I was on my feet I wanted to explore on my own which took us to far off places. Poor Mommy had a tough time chasing and herding me.

Mommy and Daddy got me back in the stroller for the rest of the zoo visit.

They had some Halloween decorations and photo spots up so we tried to take some pictures, but I was too active and not very cooperative. I was a bit of a “demon”.

But overall, I think I was very good so I think I earned my “angel” wings.

I really had fun at the mini zoo and can’t wait to go and visit the full-sized one! I hear that they have a lot more animals and of a larger scale. It sounds awesome!

I was so excited from this zoo visit and thinking about the next one that I couldn’t contain myself!

Fashion show

I was going through some bags and I found an old shawl?/mantle?/cape?/poncho? I thought it was very fashionable. So I asked Daddy to help me put it on. I liked it a lot! Not only was it very soft and warm, but it was very stylish! I like how it twirled.

First kids’ plate

I had my first kids’ plate at a restaurant today. We went out for dinner and Mommy and Daddy decided that I was old enough and definitely a good enough eater to get my own meal instead of bringing something from home. These meals are probably meant to be eaten by elementary school kids, but I did a good job of finishing it at a year and 5 months.

It was a curry and rice kids’ meal and I loved it! Everything was very tasty, but I was really interested in the jelly dessert. I kept pointing at it and asking for it. It was so distracting that Mommy and Daddy had to hide it from me so that I would finish my meal first.

The big surprise was that I was not a big fan of French fries. Which is weird because that is one of Mommy and Daddy’s favorite foods! It always looked delicious when I saw them eat it before. I liked the flavor, but I thought it was too oily. I haven’t really had or enjoyed oily foods. Even the inari sushi wrapper was too oily for my taste. Daddy was happy to eat my fries for me and gave me some of his saba (mackerel). That I liked! It has a lot of omega 3, the good oils.

And of course the best part of the kids’ meal was the toy that I got. I was given a choice from a basket of toys and I naturally chose the car.

Breaking bread

I was not in a good mood this morning. I was given breakfast, but wasn’t eating my bread. Daddy tried to help by breaking it into smaller pieces and then I freaked out! I did not like that! I tried to put it back together but i couldn’t.

Eventually I calmed down and finished my breakfast. I was a little embarrassed about how I reacted over broken bread. But I can’t promise that it won’t happen again.

Prison break

My classmates and I were up at the fence when we visited the park today and we were watching the vehicles go by like we often do. But we wanted to get a closer view so we tried to make a break for it by trying to open the game. Our teachers were impressed by attempt, but of course stopped our escape. Maybe we’ll have better luck next time.

School walk to the park

We bring shoes to school now so that when we go for our walks to the park we can actually walk around the park. Our teachers are very impressed by how well we get around on our too feet. But I’m sure they are also a bit overwhelmed chasing around tiny toddlers toddling off in different directions. It is not so hard for them to catch up to me because I often end up at the fence so that I can watch the buses go by and wave to them.

By the way, my classmates really loved my new shirt. It has a bunch of vehicles on it and they all thought it was so cool! They came up to me and pointed at the cars, buses, and truck voicing oohs and aahs!
