Outside

I was feeling a bit cooped up being indoors so Daddy and I stepped outside. I wanted to go for a ride, but we just walked around the carport. I waved to some buses going by and spotted some airplanes flying overhead. Then I tried to make a run for it. I got the gate open and that’s when Daddy decided it was time to go back inside.

Crayons

I got some crayons today! I’ve been doing so good with my magna doodle that Mommy and Daddy thought that I might want to doodle, sketch, draw and color with crayons. I kind of do, but I much rather put the crayons in containers. That’s the organizer in me. I do enjoy coloring, but I seem to prefer to color on receipts and mail than paper.

Another haircut in the pool

Yep, it’s that time again. I needed a haircut so Daddy gave me a trim in the pool. I didn’t like it at first, especially the sound and the hair itching my skin. But I got used to it and became busy playing with my toys and spotting airplanes in the sky and waving goodbye to buses. In the end, I was really well behaved and came out with a pretty decent haircut to show for it!

Kids’ Playland

After Costco and lunch we went to Kids’ Playland again. It is a fun play facility with all kinds of areas, toys, and play equipment.

The first thing that caught my eye was an Anpanman car; two of my favorite things. So I had to take it for a ride. I was a bit surprised at first and not sure how to enjoy it, but I ended up going back to it and enjoying it more.

Next stop was the ball pit. I enjoyed it a lot more the last time I was here. I think that because I can walk now, rolling around in the ball pit was not as appealing. Still, I had fun!

Mommy and Daddy knew that I liked slides, but they didn’t know that I could sit down the right way and push myself down. Mommy and Daddy, there is a lot that I can do that you don’t know about.

There was another Anpanman car in the play area, but this one you powered by yourself. You’re supposed to sit on it and scoot around, but I just treated it like a big toy car.

I eventually got it right and rode it.

I was having fun playing and riding the Anpanman car until a little baby girl came crawling over. She was less than a year old and very friendly and curious. She started playing with the car which I had deemed as my own. I sat there and tried to ignore her. When she reached out and played with the car I sat there and let her. I didn’t push her away or anything like that. I knew that she was littler and that I was bigger and that I should be nice to her. So I let her play with the car a bit. Eventually she had to leave and I held everything in until then. But to tell the truth, I was sad. I wanted to play with the car, but I tried really really hard to be a good boy and not be selfish. It was the right thing to do, but it was hard and I was feeling a bit down after that. This was a practice of gaman (enduring, patience, self-control, self-denial). I may be a big strong boy, but I’m also very sensitive.

Mommy and Daddy were very proud of me, as well as concerned. But I quickly bounced back and continued to have fun!

I checked out a couple of trains. The big one that you can ride was out of order. But the small one that you could run on a track was working and interested me a lot!

Back to Anpanman car.

I also finally got to play in a huge inflatable tube that I saw bigger kids play in before. It looked like a lot of fun, but also a little intimidating.

With all the fun I had, surprisingly one of the most interesting things was the floor panel on the slide that would pop when you put weight on it. I discovered it while playing on the slide and thought it was so funny! They slide was fun too, of course.

As you can see, I had a great time at the playland! What was more fun than each area was walking between each area on my own. I took the lead and Mommy and Daddy just had to follow me as I toddled from one place to another. With every step I take my world is expanding and getting far more interesting.

Noodle suction

After shopping at Costco we had lunch. I ate all the food that we brought so Daddy had to find some more food for me at the food court where we were eating. He found a kids’ noodle set for me. It came with orange juice which I loved! I rarely drink juice so the sweet fruit nectar was so tasty!

Since I’m really into udon right now, Daddy figured that I’d like the soba noodles. He was right! For the first few bites Mommy and Daddy cut the noodles into small pieces but I was getting impatient. So they ended up just giving me the whole noodles. That’s when the fun started! For a baby, I have very good noodle suction and slurping skills.
