Cookbook

I love my books! They are all colorful and sometimes interactive picture books. But there are other kinds of books out there with pictures that are even more to my liking. Daddy was looking up a recipe in his cookbook and I just had to join in on the fun. Oh it all looked so tasty! Yum!

Bath hiragana chart

I am always eager to find new opportunities to learn. So when we got a hiragana (Japanese alphabet) chart for the bath, I was very excited. I can learn new words, practice ones I already know, and it also makes it easier for Mommy and Daddy to give me a bath because I stay in one place and face in one direction.

Fireworks

I saw fireworks for the first time today. In Japan, you can play with fireworks any time during the summer, but they aren’t really big fireworks, just sparklers. I had never seen them before so we decided to do some fireworks. They were very intriguing. I couldn’t take my eyes off of them. I wasn’t even scared of them. Just very very interested!

Asobi Park: Beach

We went to a cool little play area in a nearby shopping center and we were surprised to see that they had a beach indoors. It was pretty clever. I had “sand” and “water” that wasn’t real. They even had fish swimming around, crabs crawling here and there, and even a huge whale that visited and said hello. It was pretty cool!

I even made friends with a friendly soft shark who tried to eat me.

After a lot of fun, I was off to explore other areas in Asobi Park.

Sports Day

My nursery school had Sports Day today! It had been a long time since the school had one because of the pandemic, so everyone was very excited about it. I lucked out that my first year at the school and I could have a Sports Day! For the older kids this is their first and last Sports Day.

Can’t you see how excited I was?

Most of the events were for the older kids, but my class had one event. It was a costume change obstacle course. Let me just give you a heads up, the majority of the kids my age cried and did not really have much fun. I was one of them.

Whew, that took a lot out of me! So tired now.

Even though we had only the one event, we stuck around to watch all the other events. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to have a glimpse at what I’ll be doing next year.

All in all, it was a very fun day, despite my crying. I hear that there are sports days in all schools all the way up to high school. I guess I better get used to this.

Parkour

We walked by this tiny pillars and Daddy made the mistake of having me jump from one to another. I kept making him do it again and again. It really tired out my 44-year-old father. He was happy to do it though. He’ll completely wear himself out playing with me if it brings a smile to my face. And if I ask for “One more”, how can he refuse? Parkour!

Excited for bed

I am so excited for bed! Like super excited! Hyper even! Why? I’m not really sure. I was just in a really good mood and really happy! I had a great day at school and I had fun with Mommy and Daddy after school. The result of this great day is being excited about bed!

Getting ready

I was going through my diaper box this morning. It has all my essentials, like diapers, wipes, lotions, handkerchiefs, and my morning routine set: brush/comb, sunscreen, and baby powder. I was trying to get my morning routine set because I knew that it was time to start heading off to school.

Actually, we were running behind schedule. But it turns out that school was cancelled. Someone got sick so we had to stay home for a couple of days just to be safe. I guess I forgot that I was told that. Okay, that means I get to spend the day with Mommy. Yay!

Lotion

I’m just lotioning up after my bath. I have to take care of my baby soft skin to make sure it stays baby soft. I want everything to be super soft but apparently Mommy and Daddy don’t want the inside of my mouth to be soft because they stopped me from trying to eat the lotion.

Mat playtime

The typhoon came and went during the night. I didn’t even notice it at all. But it seems to have been big enough to cause some inconveniences since a lot of transportation was shut down. Daddy had to walk to work today because the subway wasn’t running. Mommy took me to school today and I was happy to see that my teachers and classmates made it there safely too!

Because it was still rainy and windy, we didn’t go out for our daily walk and played indoors instead. I had a lot of fun playing on a mat mountain with my classmate. We went up, we went down, we took some tumbles, but the main thing is that we had a great time!
