Eager for a shower

At the end of a long day, I sometimes just can’t wait for a bath. Especially when it is summer and I am all sweaty and sticky. It feels good to wash all that grime off. I should note that I’m not really taking baths anymore. I’m taking showers. Instead of filling the tub part way, even though I always stand up in it, we figured it would save more water just to use the shower. We plug the tub just in case I want to sit in the water. It is also so hot that we don’t need the bath water to keep me warm.

I’m still really good in the bath. I like the shower and like getting washed. I don’t really put up a fuss except when it is time to rinse my hair. I don’t like my face being covered with a towel. So I try and get away from it and end up with the shampoo water running down my face. But don’t worry, it doesn’t get in my eyes thanks to my eyebrows and eyelashes.

I like playing with the water and sometimes try to drink it. I like playing with my bath toys but sometimes I don’t let go of them so I take them to the living room and they become regular toys. Overall, I like bath time, or botcha time (the local Hawaiian term for bath).

Celery

I ate celery for the first time today. It was pretty good because all vegetables are pretty good to me. At least I think it tasted pretty good. I had a runny nose and couldn’t really taste that well. I’m pretty sure it was good. Daddy made Pot-au-feu. It had a lot of veggies and was in consommé.

Snoring on the way home

Daddy picked me up from nursery school late in the afternoon because I had a slight fever. Even though I had been playing well, it became very apparent that I was feeling a bit under the weather. I fell fast asleep on the walk home. I was in such a deep sleep that I ended up snoring!

Run down buggy ride

Do I look run down in these pictures? I have to admit that I’m quite tired in these pictures. I have a runny nose and am not in a great mood. It ends up that I was feeling worse than I thought. I ended up coming down with a slight fever in the late afternoon and Daddy had to come pick me up. I was playing well and had a good appetite, but with my runny nose and slight fever my teachers thought it would be best if I went home early to get some rest.

Many mornings

I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night a lot lately. Since I share a bedroom with Mommy and Daddy, I have a hard time putting myself back to sleep if they are in the room. So usually Daddy takes me out of the room, gets me a drink, and lets me fall back asleep on him on the couch. It is harder for Mommy to do because I would want to be nursed if she held me. For the most part, I go back to sleep without much struggle. I toss and turn a bit until I find a comfortable spot and then fall asleep until morning. Many mornings Mommy often finds us asleep like in the picture. Ideally, we would all like it if I could go back to sleep even when Mommy and Daddy are in the room, but I am too aware and too stubborn to do so. Our routine right now may not be ideal, but it works and is the solution that allows all of us to get more sleep. I’m sure it will change in the future, but for now this is our middle of the night routine.

Cars on the floor to napping on the floor

One moment I was playing with my cars on the floor and then the next moment I was fast asleep. Nobody was even stroking my back or anything. I was just playing and then fell asleep.

I had a nice long nap. And a deep nap. When I woke up, we were already on our way to nursery school. I don’t remember Daddy packing up my bag or even strapping me into the baby carrier.

You could tell that I had a very deep sleep and did not move much because I had some imprints from the floor mat on my face on arms.

Not happy as a clam

I had clams for the first time today. Daddy made clam chowder for me. Although I liked the soup, it looked like I’m not a big fan of the clams. Either that or I don’t know what shaking my head means. Even though I shook my head I still ate everything up.

I also had ham. I again shook my head as I ate everything. Yep, I’m not using the head shake correctly.

Pointing at ducks at the park

I was very into the ducks at the park again today. I pointed at them and said, “Aaaaaaahhh!” Just to let everyone else know. But they already knew. All of us love our walks and like seeing the ducks and pigeons. Recently the cicada have been chirping a lot and we look for them, but they are hard to find.
