I tried watermelon for the first time today. It was…watery. It was very different from the other fruits I have been eating. I can’t say that I loved it, but it was okay. The texture was different and it was only subtly sweet, not like other fruits. And of course likeI said, it was watery.
I still have my fever, but I’m feeling a bit better. I’m still run down and a little uncomfortable, but I was able to spend a day very similar to my normal weekend. I ate well and played well. I slept well too. Then I ate well and played well again. Overall, I was a very good boy despite having a fever. Let’s hope this is the end of it.
I woke up with another fever today. It was 38.5°C (101.3°F). I was hoping not to get a fever this month like I have every month since I started nursery school. But here we are, the first weekend of June and I already have a fever.
I went to the doctor and was told it is just a fever but to watch out for other more serious symptoms. Right now I don’t even have a cough or runny nose, just a fever.
I spent most of the day sleeping. I would wake up every so often to drink some liquids, eat meals, and play a bit if I felt up to it. But for the most part I was sleeping the whole day.
Mommy and Daddy always worry about me when I have a fever, but they are happy to see that I always have a good appetite and not in so much discomfort that I can’t sleep. Today was the same. My fever went as high as 39.7°C (103.46°F), but I was still able to sleep and and eat. That put Mommy and Daddy’s minds at ease a bit as they carried me pretty much the whole day.
It was a long rough day, but I felt relatively okay despite my high fever. I got to be carried a lot by Mommy and Daddy and always felt safe, secure, and loved. They say laughter is the best medicine, but I think Mommy and Daddy’s loving arms and worried kisses do wonders as well!
Well, it’s off to bed for me. I hope I feel better in the morning!
We had a nice time at the park. It was ball day again! The older kids were running around with the balls, while my class sat nicely and played with the balls that we were given. It was comfortable and relaxing. Still, I can’t wait until I can run around like that!
I usually don’t like to where hats. I’ll pull them off once they are put on my head. But when it is a very sunny day like today, I’ll put up with the hat if it means I’m a little cooler. Unfortunately, my hat is too small for my head now, so I had to borrow Daddy’s hat. I think we have to go hat shopping soon.
One of my favorite books right now is Animals Sing Aloha to You. I like the repetitive sounding out of the letters. I surprised Daddy by pulling out the book, opening it, and then reading it, saying, “a…a…a..” which is the first line of the book. I don’t do that with any other book, just this one. This is my attempt at reading a book on my own!
When Mommy picks me up from nursery school, she usually takes me down to the lobby of the building before she straps on the baby carrier and puts me in it. There is more room to do it in the lobby and there is a nice bench where I can comfortably wait.
There is a lot to see on the way home. I love looking for buses, trucks, and cars, but we also find a lot of plants and flowers. To be honest, I like looking at everything! I’m very curious and my head is on a swivel looking at everything around me and pointing to them as well. Even though I’m being carried, I feel like I’m burning a lot of energy.
Right across from one of the parks we often go to is the Prefectural Government Office. I know it doesn’t sound like much fun for little babies, but they have to some pretty flowers on display there, so we sometimes stop by on our walks to the park.
How I sit and the angle of my body changes how I look. The first two photos show me with very soft features. But I feel the last makes me look like a big rock of a boy.
I do this from time to time. I place my food on my mug. It doesn’t get in my tea because it has a no spill cover. But Daddy thinks it is weird to move all my food to my cup when I have a perfectly good bowl right in front of me. I have my reasons.
It is so nice that we get to go to the park every day that the weather is nice! We all love the fresh air. My class can’t run around yet, but soon you won’t be able to stop us.
There is a lot of interesting things at school. Today, the older class had exercise class and a special teacher came. I cried even though he had nothing to do with me. I was peeking over the partition and saw someone new, so I cried. But then I got over it and continued to stare at the older kids as they had their exercise class.
There are a lot of boys in my class and only one girl. Poor thing. It must be tough with all this testosterone around her. Some times the testosterone can be a bit much for me too.
By the way, I’m enjoy playing with balls a lot more. I’m getting better and rolling them and chasing after them. It is a lot of fun! I don’t do that so much at the park. It is more of a indoor thing for me because I know the ball won’t roll too far away.
Instead of playing with my Lego car, I played with my PandaCrate wagon. When I first got it I was taught to play with it by pulling on the string. But I figured out that I can play with it the same way I play with my car. Vroom, vroom!
