Squinting

I’m really good at feeding myself bread. I don’t even need Daddy to tear it into small pieces anymore. I either tear off small pieces by myself or just take a bite of the roll. But when feeding myself I sometimes make a squinting face. Mommy and Daddy don’t know if I’m happy, sad, or very very suspicious. I don’t really know either. As soon as I figure it out I’ll let you know.

Kid’s Meal

As you know, I am a big eater. I don’t always eat this much, but there are days when I am really hungry and days when I’m just kind of hungry. Today was a really hungry day.

I’m really good at eating with my fingers and I figure I should try the next step and eat using a spoon. I’m doing pretty good. This is me “using” a spoon.

Daddy kiss

A “Daddy kiss” is when I give Daddy a soft bite on the nose. I don’t know why this became a Daddy kiss or even when it started. But if Daddy leans in and asks for a “Daddy kiss” I oblige him and give him a soft bite on the nose.

Good eater at restaurants

I’m a good eater at restaurants. I eat a lot and am pretty well behaved. I try to eat nicely, but a lot of food ends up on the floor. Don’t worry, we clean up as best as we can before we leave. At restaurants, Mommy and Daddy have to eat too, so I try to be a good boy to give them time to eat and enjoy their meal. Today I tried to feed myself to give them some time to feed themselves. The result was the aforementioned mess. But a lot more food ended up in my tummy than the floor.

Snack time: Cocoa pancakes

Next month at my nursery school, there are some desserts that have cocoa so the school always checks whether or not we have had the items on the menu. I hadn’t tried coca before, so we gave it a taste today to make sure I’m not allergic. It seems that I’m okay and I liked the taste of the cocoa pancakes that Mommy made for me.

After trying out the cocoa pancakes I got to have my normal snack foods. I gave everything a taste, but wiped out my bananas first because they are my favorite snack food right now.

Wading pool

The main reason Daddy got the fake grass that we used for our picnic yesterday was so that he could setup a wading pool for me to beat the summer heat. It wasn’t super hot today, but we decided to give the pool a try. At first, I didn’t really like it because the water was a bit cold. But then Daddy grabbed some buckets of warm water from the house and added it to the pool until it was a comfortable temperature and then I had a great time! I look forward to our next pool day!

Water bottle, backpack, rest

When I play I end up doing a lot of unexpected things and use a lot of unexpected things. Today I was playing and grabbed a water bottle from the table and thought that it would be fun. Then I fond my backpack and showed an interest in it, so Mommy and Daddy help me put it on. Then I just needed a rest so I got some cuddle time with Daddy.

Makeup

Mommy made the mistake of doing her makeup in front of me, so that meant that I was snatching and grabbing all the makeup things because they were all new to me. I like new stuff and like to examine them a lot.

I got to discover and examine makeup things, but I didn’t get to put any on.

Face climbing the couch

I took my couch climbing to a whole new level. I discovered that the back cushion of the couch is stuffed with feathers and has footholds on the surface. So that meant I could climb even higher than before and reach the counter behind the kitchen sink.

Looking at these pictures makes me wonder what would have happened if I fell backwards? In the moment I never even thought about it. Us climbers are always looking up, never looking back down at the potential fall.

Snack in our “yard”

I like to be outside but I didn’t want to bother with the walk to the park again so we had our snack picnic outside in our “yard”. When I say “yard” I mean the 90 x 90cm plot of fake grass that Daddy put together. It was just the right size for us and it was soft enough that I couldn’t feel the hard concrete underneath. I may not look thrilled, but I enjoyed our snack picnic. It is just that sometimes eating is more business than fun for me.

At the park

Daddy and I went to the park today and had a great time! There was nobody there so we had the whole park to ourselves. That was good news because that meant that I got to use the swing as much as I liked!

After a lot of swinging, Daddy and I sat down in the shade to have some quiet play. I found some sticks and thought they were a lot of fun. But Daddy kept stopping me from putting them in my mouth. How am I supposed to know how they taste if I don’t put it in my mouth? Since Daddy was so intent on stopping me from putting the sticks in my mouth I gave one to him to taste. He said it tasted yucky but it didn’t look like he actually put it in his mouth. I think he was just faking it and saying it was yucky so that I didn’t try to eat any sticks.

While we were sitting there I noticed a lot of sounds. There was some landscaping going on nearby and I was curious about the noise of chainsaws and leafblowers. I even heard airplanes flying overhead and was able to spot a few of them. We had a very nice time at the park, but it was a bit hot so we didn’t stay too long.
