Sunny Saturday

I woke up pretty early today and announced that I wanted pancakes, so I helped Daddy make them.

We FaceTimed with Nana and Papa and they watched me play a lot. But then I got upset because they were talking to Mommy and Daddy instead of focusing on me. After I made my feelings clear they watched me in silence the rest of the call.

I made more interesting creations with my MagnaTiles. I made a snowplow tow truck today.

It was surprising sunny the day after a typhoon. We went to the park and I had a blast.

I didn’t want to go shopping with Daddy so Mommy and I stayed home. He brought home a Starbucks treat which I “shared” with Mommy, even though my sips seemed to be deeper and longer than hers.

Yakult

When walking home with Daddy yesterday, we stopped by the convenience store for dinner and I ask Daddy to by me a Yakult drink as well. As it turns out, I was so full from dinner that I didn’t have room for Yakult, so I said “Mason drink tomorrow.” And sure enough, I drank it today and it was so yummy!

Motchan and Penpen

Last night when lying in bed, trying to go to sleep, I had an interesting conversation with Mommy. I started calling her “Motchan”. Mommy asked why I was doing that and I said that her name was “Motchan”. When she asked what my name was, I told her that my name was “Penpen”. So now we are Motchan and Penpen. We kept this conversation going for much longer than we should, considering what time it was and that I should be asleep. But how could we resist? It was such a funny and entertaining conversation.

Rainy day

It was another rainy day, so we stayed inside and did crafts instead of taking a walk. Today we played with clay.

When playing with connecting blocks my friends and I got really excited when we made a passenger boarding bridge (jetway). We love vehicles so we can get really into building anything related to vehicles.

Daddy picked me up from school today and since it was raining I got to wear my full rain gear. We had a nice chat on the way home. We talked about everything and nothing.

When we got home the rain got worse and there was even some lightning. I don’t like lightning so I said that I would get rid of it. When asked how, I spanked my but. I was planning to spank the lightning away.

Mommy carry

Today I surprisingly ask Mommy to carry me on our walk to school. Somehow Mommy manage to carry me and see where she was going. It is getting harder and harder for her to carry me.

Today was a little bit rainy so we couldn’t go on our walk. Instead we stayed inside and made origami. I did alright, but I asked my teacher for some help.

Hand in pocket runway walk

Just doing a model walk with with one hand casually in my pocket. Just because we are walking to school doesn’t mean we don’t have to me fashionable.

We had gymnastics class today and I joined in on the fun. I finally came around to enjoying the class. We practiced the jump box and the bar today. I did pretty good considering I did not have my practice (because I chose to opt out). I followed our teacher’s instructions and got better and better.

Evacuation drill

We had an evacuation drill at school today. I listened very intently because I’m always a bit nervous during these drills. I take them very seriously and am actually a little scared. I understand that we do this for a reason and that reason can be scary. Sometimes I shed a few tears as we calmly walk down the stairs to evacuate the building. But today I was okay.

On our walk we saw four police cars and that made our day. It was very exciting. I told everyone, “Look! So many police cars! Yay!”

When we got to the park I found some ants and spent a good amount of time just watching them running to and fro. They are very interesting creatures.

At school we took a quick shower and went right to playing. I was lucky enough to find four tires to make a bus out of connecting blocks, so I was very happy. Sometimes it is hard to get my hands on tires and my friends and I sometimes fight over them.

Late Sunday morning

We all slept in this Sunday morning and it was great! We woke up refreshed and ready to face our last weekend day.

I said I wanted to eat pancakes and then I said I wanted to make pancakes. So I did all the prep work and let Daddy work the range.

I actually couldn’t wait for the pancakes so I ate some melons first. But I followed up and ate a lot of the delicious pancakes that I helped make.

In the afternoon I wanted to play with the sink water but Daddy told me it was dirty. So he found a less dirty, but more messy, thing for me to play with: ooblek. It was really fun to play with and boy did I make a mess. We had a mat down, so the carpet was okay, but I needed to change clothes.

After that we headed into the city to check out a water activity area that was set up in a shopping mall. So we hopped on the subway.

I was a little hesitant at first but ended up enjoying the bubbles, water spray, and atmosphere.

After all that bubble and water fun it was time to take a break. We found a shady spot where I could eat my banana jelly. After I finished I discovered a little water fountain thing behind me. So I went to investigate. It was pretty cool watching the water jump up and down. I managed not to get squirted in the face and I also managed to catch a few drops too.

We had special dinner plans to go to a buffet and I was very excited. There was steak on the menu and Daddy got several plates but I only had a bit. I was more interested in eating all the fruits available. First we found some pineapples in a stir fry so we took a lot of them and left the meat and vegetables. Then when the desert table was set up there were tons of fruits for me to eat my fill.

I ate so much and so quickly that I was full. So I got to watch some of my shows while Mommy and Daddy kept eating and played Bingo. We didn’t win a case of peaches like we did last year, but we did get a six-pack of beer.

After a great dinner we headed home, but we had to stop by the supermarket to do some grocery shopping.

I woke up in a good mood today and ate a good breakfast while watching my shows. Then after brushing my teeth and changing it was right to playing.

We went out to lunch and I ate pretty much my entire kids’ meal. It was very good. But while eating I got some email on my watch so I had to check it. Hmmm, nothing important.

We had to do a little shopping at the bookstore, which was fine by me because the bookstore was right next to the game center. I got to try to increase my Tomica collection at the crane game. And guess what. Another crane game win for Mason! I didn’t show it, but I was very very excited and happy!

Back at home it was back to playing again. I constructed a bridge out of MagnaTiles with Daddy and we kept making it bigger and bigger so that different vehicles could pass underneath it. We ended up with a pretty cool bridge.

Not ready to get up

Some mornings I wake up, ask to watch TV, sit down and eat my breakfast, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Today was not a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed day. Still, I (we) rallied and ate breakfast and got ready with enough time to play. The mini post-waking-up nap was enough to game me energized.

I even had enough energy to walk a balance beam on the way to school.

School pool day

Today was pool day at school and I participated for the first time. I have been resistant to wearing a swimming cap so I haven’t participated in a school pool day these two years. But since we got a new swimming camp that I like, I was much more cooperative and had a great time in the pool with my friends.

Jelly and fun

When Mommy and Daddy found out that I joined in on gymnastics, they both independently picked up desserts for me as a reward. Even though I didn’t join gymnastics for jelly dessert, I was very happy for the treat. It was yummy! Yummy enough to slurp off the table when I spilled.

I was energized by both the treat and the supportive and encouraging words from Mommy and Daddy. I started to feel a bit like a superhero. Somehow we got to talking about Wolverine and I tried to copy the superhero poses as best as I could.

Joining gymnastics

We started off our day with a short walk and then came back to school to play inside.
Today is our gymnastics day, and I started off on the sidelines like I usually do. But when asked if I wanted to join in, (as I am asked every time), this time I said yes. I did very well on the bar even though I haven’t had any practice on it. Sports day is only couple of weeks away, but I think I might make it in time to do all the poses. Everyone knew that I would join in at my own time, and I appreciate the space. I joined at my own timing and I enjoyed the class.

Improving language skills

The more my language skills the develop, the more interesting observations and comments I make.

The other day while eating with my hands I was trying to touch Daddy’s face. Daddy said, “Don’t touch my face with your sticky hands,” to which I replied, “Don’t touch my sticky hands with your face.”

Today, Daddy had some laundry on the couch to fold, but I insisted that I needed to play on the couch and started throwing the clothes on the floor. Daddy said that I was making more work for him. Then I told him, “That’s Mason’s job.”

Pop-up Pirate

While looking through some storage boxes outside for more Lego, Daddy found a Pop-up Pirate game. The object is to shove swords into a barrel and not be the one who makes the pirate Pop-up. I didn’t really understand the game but was really good at it. I beat Mommy three times in a row. I guess the no-fear attitude is and advantage.

P.S. We played it as a family again later and one of us must not have pushed the sword in all the way because the game ended without the pirate popping up. Daddy checked all the swords and then we got our surprise. (2:35 mark)
