Some mornings I play mostly on my own. I always make sure Daddy is nearby and I come to play with him here and there, but for the most part I just do my thing. This morning I was hanging around Daddy a lot more than usual. Can you blame me? Look how comfy it looks to play while resting on Daddy’s leg. It makes it easier to lie down and use my hands to play with my toys!
I understand that I have to stay home to get better, but that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy it. I’m just going to wait it out.
I’m feeling fine. My fever still hasn’t gone away, but I’m not uncomfortable or anything. When I take my medicine the fever goes down and then comes back later. I had a pretty good sleep last night and woke up the same as any other day. Daddy had to remind me that I still had to stay home from school because of my lingering fever. I played a lot with Daddy and Obachan despite being sick. Maybe I’ll take it easy today. I’ll start off by just relaxing and watching my kids’ programs on TV.
Ever since Easter, I have been having a lot of fun playing with my easter eggs. I like clacking them together, tossing them like a ball, and just carrying them around. I think I’ve played with them every day since I got them. The one thing that I haven’t been able to do is to crack them open. Daddy showed me how to do it, but I can’t do it the way he does it. But I found my own way to crack the eggs open. I think this would work with real eggs as well. I can’t wait to try it out!
I tried cheesecake today. To be honest, it is not going to be one of my favorite foods. It was a different texture than I’m used to. I tried a few bites then refused to eat more. I had to try it because it is on next month’s lunch menu for nursery school. Well, I didn’t have any allergic reactions or anything, it is just not my cup of tea.
Another no cry drop off at nursery school! I’m going to say it, “I like going to nursery school.” I have nice teachers, a lot of friends, a lot of toys and activities to entertain me, daily walks, and they feed me a lot. What’s not to like?
Every day is filled with fun at nursery school. Even on rainy days like today there are a lot of fun things to do. Because we can’t go out for our walk, our teachers filled the play room with toys, balls and a tunnel that I never saw before. I liked playing with the balls and I thought the tunnel was interesting, but I didn’t go through it. It was a bit scary. Maybe next time I’ll give it a try.
I woke up early to get some work done before I start my day. It is a great way to wake up, especially because I use a standing desk and I don’t use a chair.
Okay, work done. Now time to relax.
Oh wait, Daddy has a desk chair. Maybe I should rethink this standing desk situation. Maybe a chair would be bettter.

I think I’m getting used to nursery school. I didn’t cry at all today. Even after the weekend I was able to carry on from when I left off and enjoy my time at school. When Daddy dropped me off at school I didn’t cry. I made a slightly sad face, but that’s it. No tears and no crying. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of me!
On today’s walk I saw a lot of animals. I pointed at and stared at the cats and pigeons that I saw, saying “Oh, oh, oh!” My teachers were wondering if I was saying hello to the animals. I had a lot of fun and ended up falling asleep on the way back. I wasn’t the only one.
I had my first class today. At nursery school we had a class on disaster drills. I have a feeling it was mostly directed at the older students, but us longer students also attended the class. I listened very closely and am now ready in case some disaster happens.
I’m a very good student!
I like school a lot, but I was happy to see Mommy when she came to pick me up! I like school, but I love home!
I’m just pointing out the way to school so that Daddy doesn’t get lost. It’s this way!
Last night I fell asleep on the car ride home from the sushi restaurant. I was so peacefully fast asleep that Mommy and Daddy just put me straight to bed. I slept straight through the night. So that meant that I got a morning bath before I went to school. I have to admit that morning baths are quite refreshing and really wake you up and make you alert! I’m ready for school now!
But I had some time so I played with my toys and watched my kids’ shows before we left.
I tried pineapple today. It was quite sweet and not too tart! I noticed that most fruits are sweet. I don’t get to eat many sweet things so fruits are always a treat!
Mommy and Daddy always try to have a special dinner for their monthaversaries. Before I came along, they would go out to eat. Since I’ve been born they mostly order in, do take out, or just cook something special. But for the past couple of months we have all been going out to eat and I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Today we went to kaiten sushi (conveyor belt sushi). I didn’t get to eat any sushi, but I had fun watching all the sushi and other dishes march on by on the conveyor belt. I spent most of our dinner pointing at all the different things and learning about the different kinds of sushi. I think I’m going to enjoy this kind of place when I get older. Food just rolls on by and you can take whatever you want! That’s the dream!
Up until today I would either be carried in a carrier or put in a stroller when we went shopping. Even though I’m not quite old enough, Mommy and Daddy thought I should start driver’s ed and get my learner’s permit. So I started driving an Anpanman shopping cart. I think I did really well for my first time. The steering wheel and all the controls are very similar to my driving toy at home, so I was used to the operation of the vehicle. This is much better than being carried around everywhere. I wonder if I can drive this thing home.
One of the great things about going shopping is that most malls have a lot of mirrors. So that means I get to look at myself a lot! And who wouldn’t want to look at me a lot?
We were out shopping and we stopped by a rest area for a break and snack. Mommy and Daddy got coffee and I got pancakes as a snack. Check out my new way of drinking my tea. Pretty cool, huh?
Just to be clear, I’m tired from eating, not tired of eating. I didn’t have a nap this morning so I was quite tired. Also, I was chatting with Grandma and Grandpa and entertaining them with my new abilities. So by the time I ate lunch I was pretty worn out. So by the end of my meal I was yawning quite a bit. I think I’ll go take a nap soon.
I’m becoming very dexterous. My nimble little fingers are very good at grabbing, gripping, moving, manipulating, and holding things. Just look how quickly I managed to put this discs in the slot of my new toy. I just got this toy and I have already mastered it. Pretty impressive if I do say so myself.
Just moving the table around and then…Ouch! (@0:52)
Maybe I shouldn’t be moving large pieces of furniture around. Nah, that’s not it. I just need a better grip. I’ll try again later, without the “ouch” part.
