I tried liver today and I liked it! That surprised Daddy because he is not a big fan of liver. But I thought it was pretty tasty!

I fell asleep on the way back from the market. It is less than 10 minutes away, but obviously long enough for me to grab a quick car cat nap.

Daddy and I were playing around and then I got a hold of his shirt. It looks like the beginning of a hockey brawl.

When I try to get off the couch I usually go head first. This made Mommy and Daddy worry about how I would handle things like steps when I encountered them. Today I found my way into the entryway and back my self down the step feet first. Mommy and Daddy were happy that I knew how to navigate the step, but are now worried because that means the area where I can explore just got bigger.

Another cushion appeared today. Apparently it had been stored away. Mommy and Daddy brought it out of retirement to use to block me from getting to stuff, as well as providing me a comfy place to sit on the floor.
Mommy thought she would get a video of me moving around the table trying to get the remote control. She was wrong. Although I can me very focused and determined, I can also be easily distracted.

No matter how Mommy and Daddy put me down to bed, I always manage to move to the very edge or corner when I sleep. It kind of defeats the purpose of having this nice big crib just for me.

We visited Mommy’s friends today. They were very thoughtful and generous so they offered me some of their three boys’ old clothes. They even tossed in a few books and toys too! They were so kind!
They were all very nice to me and made me feel very welcomed in their home. The boys played with me and showed me their toys. Even though I cried when I first got there, I quickly adjusted to the new environment and started playing with everything I could get my hands on.
Mommy caught up with her friends whom she hadn’t seen in about 10 years. They exchanged stories and relived some stories from their pasts. And Mommy learned about some things to expect when raising a boy. I also got some ideas of how I should act as a boy. It looks like there are a lot of fun years ahead of me!
We had such a great time that I was exhausted and slept on the ride home. It was such a nice visit!

I’ve noticed an increase in baby locks around the house. Mommy and Daddy are sure making quite an effort to keep me from opening stuff and getting to stuff. Well, let me take a look at this lock and see if I can break through their security. I’m sure I’ll be opening all the baby locks on my own in good time. After all, I’m pretty good at getting into places where I shouldn’t be.

Despite all the barriers and blockers that Mommy created to stop me from getting to Daddy’s game consoles, I broke through and got them. This is probably what I’m going to look like a few years from now when I actually understand how to play video games. For now I’m just going to fake it.

I was playing with Daddy and we made quite a mess. We were playing with a lot of different things. First a had fun pulling some wipes out. Daddy did not want me to do that.
Then he made paper balloons for me which ended up all over the place. Then I pulled a bunch of tissue out of the tissue box. Anyway, so as you can imagine there was quite a mess on the floor. I forgot about the mess and was trying to shuffle over to Daddy when I accidentally stepped on some of the tissue and then it stuck to my feet. It was as if I had coated the bottom of my feet with a glue stick because that tissue stuck really good and I had a hard time trying to get it off.

My hair is very long and it often gets in my eyes, which is why I wear it up in a topknot. But Daddy tried to see if we could keep my hair out of my eyes by brushing it a lot more than usual. It seems to have done the trick! Although I don’t think it will last that long. Oh well, at least I am looking quite dapper for now!

This is Daddy’s new idea to keep me from rolling away when he is trying to change my diaper. It works pretty well! But he won’t put my pants on my head when it is a poopy diaper. It’s not like my pants are dirty. Only my diaper. I guess there might still be some lingering smell.

Yes, the table has turned, and I did the turning. Daddy lent me his lap desk so that I could sit down on the floor and play with my toys on the table. I found a more interesting way to use the table.
I can understand a lot more of what Mommy and Daddy say, especially when it has to do with food. So when they ask if I’m hungry I always answer with a grunt. Or when they say it is meal time I make my way over to my chair or to them to be put in my chair. When they call me for other things besides food I often ignore them if it is something I don’t like.

I woke up with a fever today. It hovered around 38°C (100.4°F). Mommy put a cold pack on my back to keep my fever down and then we went to the doctor’s. He confirmed that it was just a cold and gave me some medicine.

At my worst, my fever crept up toward 39°C (102.2°F), but did not quite get there. The medicine to lower my fever was a suppository which was new, but I didn’t mind. Actually, I put up more of a fuss when my temperature is taken from my armpit. The medicine did the trick and brought my fever down to a manageable level by midday.
Having a cold was not fun, but I was okay for the most part. I was never in pain or in discomfort. Sure, I felt a bit hot and everything felt heavy and slow, but I was alright. I still played and laughed a lot, but Mommy and Daddy made sure I didn’t exert myself. I had a lot of quiet and toned down playtime. I took a lot of nice long naps which helped me get better.

All in all, I was a very good boy and handled my cold very well. I wasn’t fussy or anything. Mommy and Daddy made sure that I was comfortable and keep a close watch. They would have been more worried if I had a loss of appetite, but I ate my usual amount of food throughout the day. It was harder to enjoy my food because of my runny nose, but I still ate everything.
I already feel better but I’m going to take it easy for the next couple of days.

This is just a sample of the weird positions I sleep in. I have this whole crib all to myself and I always end up tucked up in the corner. I rarely every sleep lengthwise. Most of the time I sleep with my head touching the edge and my legs bent up against the other side. It may look awkward, but it is comfortable to me and I sleep quite well like this.
I really like to climb on the couch and then touch the cables and things that are behind them. Apparently this is not allowed, so after telling me multiple times not to touch the cables, Mommy and Daddy decided to try and keep me off the couch completely by putting up cushion blockers.

Another place that I want to go that I’m not allowed is the kitchen. Apparently there are a lot of dangerous things in there. So Mommy and Daddy have put many different things in my way to block me. They put my chair there, and it did the job. It stopped me. But I gave a really good effort to get by. I tried to crawl under it and did not quite fit. I even almost got stuck! I managed to get out, but was very frustrated and defeated by the result.

Just checking in at Daddy while he works and chatting about my day. I know he appreciates these visits and is energized by my conversation, but it must also make it hard to concentrate on work when he knows that he could be playing with me.
