Another attempt at couch barriers

Well, even after another attempt to get past the couch barriers, I failed, so I shifted my focus to something easier can close at hand. So I started to play with one of my soft books. It was fun at first. Then somehow I ended up sitting on it and could not pull it up and out from under me. It was a bit frustrating.

Cardboard box pounding and couch barrier

Sometimes Mommy and Daddy try to guide my play. I was wandering off to the kitchen so Daddy lured me back to the living room by pounding on a cardboard box. I came back and started to pound on the cardboard box for a bit, but then I decided that I wanted to play on the couch, where Mommy and Daddy don’t want me to go, so they put up some cushions as barriers. Check out the video below and you’ll see that I don’t give up so easily.

Baby talk

Mommy and Daddy were watching some videos about raising babies and I just had to talk about the babies that I saw. I don’t think Mommy or Daddy understood what I was saying, but they seemed to be impressed with how much I had to say. Sometimes you just have to be happy with quantity over quality.

Visit from Obasan (Aunty)

We had a nice visit from Obasan today! I was really happy to see her, but I still cried a bit at the beginning. I warmed up to her again fairly quickly and we were best buds!

She brought me a Hinamatsuri (March 3rd) card and a Kodomo no hi (May 5th) card. It was a bit early for Kodomo no hi but she found a really cool card and didn’t want to risk it selling out, so she bought it right away. It’s pretty cool! It is koinobori (flying carp) and they light up and play music! Wow!

It was a nice visit and I showed off all the things that I can do now, and Obasan was very impressed! She played with me, put me on her lap, and even lifted me up in the air! I was impressed by her strength! Even Mommy and Daddy struggle picking me up sometimes. We all hope that the next time I see her I will skip the crying and get right to the getting along part.

Further desk exploration

I enjoy exploring around and under Daddy’s desk, even when he is not there. I find that I can get further when he is not working because he is not in his chair to stop me from getting under his desk. I tried to sneak off and mess with his printer, but I got caught red handed.

Fine weather

It looks like it is going to be another nice day! The weather is warming up a bit. Some days the temperature goes as high as 15°C (59°F). The temperature drops to about 3°C (37.4°F) at night and some does it doesn’t go above 10°C (50°F), so it makes me appreciate the warm and sunny days!

Quick crawl

Even though I figured out how to crawl on all fours, I still find it much faster to do my army crawl. I can really move when I decide to. The clip below is not even my fastest sprint. It is more like a nice jogging pace for me.

Barrier breaker

I kept touching Daddy’s PS4 and Switch, and trying to chew on the cables, so Mommy put up a barrier to stop me from getting to them. I broke the barrier within a couple of days and got to all the goodies. To keep me out of something, I think Mommy is going to have to look beyond a piece of cardboard and couple of strips of tape.

Finding Daddy

Daddy is not a morning person. Sometimes when he “wakes up” in the morning he comes out to the living room only to cover himself with a blanket and doze off. Then it is my job to find him under the blanket and coax him out of the blanket and his sleepy dozing. Once he sees that I want to play, he wakes up quite quickly and we have all kinds of fun!

More new foods (okara and pork)

Okara

Okara is soy pulp that is dried and then rehydrated during cooking. It is quite healthy and can be mixed with a number of things to add texture, flavor, and fill you up with healthy soy. It is kind of like mashed potato mix, but with soy instead of potatoes. Mommy and Daddy really like it and often have it mixed with vegetables. I thought it was pretty good.

Pork

More meat! Now we’re talking! I think that covers all the main meats. I’ve had chicken, fish, beef, and now pork. Yum!

Still sleep

Recently I’ve been going to bed without any crying for quite a while now. But recently I have been going to sleep without any sound or movement. I go through my usual routine of dinner, bath, nursing, and bedtime story. Then I’m put into my crib peacefully and quietly. No crying and no moving Instead of moving around to find a comfortable position, the past few days I have just been lying in my crib waiting to fall asleep. After all, I am very tired after all the activity I have during the day. I wait for slumber to take me and ease me into a good sleep so that I can have a lot of fun the next day as well!

Love yourself

I saw this really cute baby boy in the mirror and just had to give him a great big kiss! Yeah, I realize it was me in the mirror. But it is important to love yourself! So this is how I show myself the love I deserve.

Wow, that’s a lot of love!
