After dinner bottle

I eat dinner, take a bath, and then usually get nursed before I have my bedtime story and go to bed. But recently I’ve been biting Mommy a lot and a little too hard. Mommy warns me not to hurt her, but I don’t know my own strength. After several warnings I lose my nursing privileges and get a bottle instead. I think I have to be gentler when nursing. The bottle is fine, but I much prefer to be nursed. I’ve got to stop biting.

Just a drink

I already had my lunch, so when it was time for Mommy and Daddy to eat lunch I waited patiently and just had a drink. I was curious about the food that they got, but I didn’t really try to snatch anything off their plates. I knew that it wasn’t food for me and that I would have my snack soon if I waited patiently.

Pebbles at the park

I enjoyed playing on the grass, but then I ventured over to the bricked area where the benches are. I discovered a bunch of pebbles on the ground. I had fun picking up the pebbles, flicking the pebbles with my fingers, and just studying all the tiny pebbles on the ground. I don’t think I’ve ever played with pebbles before. Mommy was on alert, ready to stop me if I tried to put a pebble in my mouth. Mommy and Daddy liked seeing me explore and learn, but it was a bit stressful for them to be on such vigilant watch to keep me safe. Oh, by the way, I don’t think I need my nails cut this week. They kind of got filed down by the bricks.

Crawling on grass at the park

I don’t crawl very much at home. I do my army crawl a lot, and I am really fast when I army crawl so I never really saw a need to crawl on all fours. But today at the park I was crawling on all fours a lot. I just knew that it would be really hard to army crawl and slide on my tummy when on grass. So I naturally switched to crawling on all fours. Mommy and Daddy were very surprised. They didn’t know that I could crawl on all fours so well. It’s not that I couldn’t crawl, I just chose not to based on the conditions. Since I was on grass, it just made sense to switch to all-wheel drive for the off-roading I was going to do.

Laundry

I like to help with the laundry. Sometimes I have to make sure they are folded really well so that they will fit in the drawers. A little Mason weight to compress the clothes. Sometimes I have to make sure that the clothes are clean so I do a spot check. Yum! Yes, all clean!

Curtains

I think curtains are so cool! They are like vertical blankets that you can wave around! I check outside nearly daily to see what the weather is like and while I’m there I’ll play with the curtains a bit. I like to watch them flow gently when I wave them back and forth.

Bed or book?

Sometimes I get so sleepy right after I nurse at night. I had my dinner, I had my bath, I nursed, and I had a fun-filled day. Naturally I want to go to sleep. But then I remember that I have my bedtime story. So I fight to stay awake for a few more minutes just so that Daddy can read me a book.

When the book is done, then it is off to dreamland.

Playing with wipes

Do you remember when a while back I pulled all those baby wipes out of the pack? Well, instead of just throwing them away, Mommy and Daddy let them dry out and put them in an old empty tissue box so that I had a way to exert all my mischievousness. I actually play with it from time to time, pulling out the wipes and then Mommy and Daddy later put it back in the box and we don’t waste anything. I thought just pulling the wipes out of the box was fun, but it turns out there is more fun to be had with the wipes.

In the toy box

One part of my daily routine is to take nearly everything out of my toy box and not clean up. Yeah, I know I should clean up, but I’m a little too young to understand that concept. Anyway, getting back to my toys. I like to pull out a lot of toys and play with them. But sometimes the particular toy that I want is far down in my toy box, so I have to really reach in there to get it.

Play date

My friend came over for a play date today. We had a great time! We played together, shared our toys with each other, and exchanged stories. Our mothers exchanged stories too! We all get along really well. My friend and I actually interact with each other quite a bit. Often babies our age only play around each other. I’m glad that I have a friend that I can hang out with and play with.
