Choosing a book

“Is it story time?”

Being able to crawl creates a lot of freedom for me, and some problems for Mommy and Daddy. I can get to a lot more things which means I can make a bigger mess than before. I discovered my bookshelf and like to choose the books I want Mommy and Daddy to read to me. I usually grab about a dozen books, so they just assume I want the one on the top.

Floor walking

Sometimes being stuck on the floor can get a bit boring. Even with army crawling, there is only so much you can see. I think I’m going to skip proper crawling on my hands and knees and move right along to walking. I’ve already got good form, now all I have to do is get up onto my feet.

On the move

Now that I figured out how to army crawl I am exploring a lot more. I can shuffle my way around the four corners of the living room pretty easily. I’m planning to expand my range pretty soon. For now, I’m just covering a lot of ground in the living room.

Early riser

When I’m hungry in the morning, I just can’t put myself back to sleep, no matter how well my sleep training is going. I just start calling for Mommy and Daddy to wake up and feed me. As you can see, I have figured out where they sleep, (my crib is at the foot of their bed), and I look directly at them as I call out for them. It’s pretty hard to ignore, no mater how tired they are.

But of course, waking up early in the morning means I need an early morning nap as well.

Peach and grapes

Oh my god! I tried peaches and grapes baby food and it was sooooo good! Peaches are not in season and we haven’t seen it in the supermarket, so we bought some off the shelf baby food. Man, that stuff is good! It was considerably sweeter than the food I have been eating. You can see how I just can’t wait for the next spoonful.

Finding Daddy at work

After I have my dinner, Mommy let’s me stay in my chair as she gets my bath ready. I usually spend my time brushing my teeth, playing with toys, or licking my table clean of any pieces of food. Another thing I like to do is find Daddy at work at his desk. I know where he is during the day, so I often come looking for him by crawling into his office nook. When I’m in my chair I have to turn and look behind me and when I see him I give him a very happy smile.

Finding laughter

We’ve moved beyond simple peekaboo and are having a lot more fun! I’m very aware of my surroundings and where everyone is. When Mommy or Daddy leave the room I watch them go and keep looking in that direction until they come back. Or I go looking for them now that I can crawl. Out of sight no longer means out of mind. This awareness and understanding makes finding them so much fun!

Tummy sleep and balding

Like I mentioned, I’m sleeping quite well on my own, but end up sleeping on my tummy. But before I get to my tummy I’m on my back tossing and turning a bit. I think it is creating a bit of a bald spot on the back of my head. I think I should start rolling over to my tummy as soon as I’m put in my crib. I must protect my luxurious locks.
