⚠️Intruder alert⚠️

Daddy had pleasant surprise today. He was working at his desk and when he heard something and looked down he found me at the foot of his chair. I had snuck up on him to see how he was doing and to see if he needed any help with work. He was happy to see me and cheered up by my visit, but escorted me off the premises.

Because I army crawl instead of crawl on all fours I’m a lot stealthier than other babies.

Banana

I saw that Mommy was eating something for breakfast that smelled familiar. Sure enough, it was a banana. I’ve had it mashed up, but I’ve never had it as is. So after a lot of begging and coercing I got her to share some of it with me. Mommy and Daddy thought I would just chew on it for a bit, but I surprised them with very skilled bites of the right size and proper chewing before I swallowed them. Before they knew it I had eaten what was left of Mommy’s banana.

Pantsless

I like crawling around and exploring so much that it is hard to keep me in one place. Mommy and Daddy are struggling to change my diapers. I try roll over and crawl off before they are done (sometimes before they even start) changing my diapers. Sometimes they just have to let me go pantsless for a while before they can catch me and put my pants on.

Held back

Except for bedtime in the bedroom and bath time in the bathroom, I have been living most of my life at home in the in the living room. Now that I’m crawling, I’m wandering into other rooms. I’m really curious about the kitchen because I know that is where food comes from. It sounds like a paradise to me! Buy on the way to the kitchen I found the vacuum cleaner. I keep wanting to touch it, but Mommy and Daddy keep stopping me and telling me that I can’t touch it because it is dirty. Don’t they know that I am exploring and learning, and because of that have so much potential? I don’t like being held back…literally.

Table

Being mobile is so awesome! There are so many things for me to see, explore, experience, and try to eat. Take today for example. I found that table legs are pretty tasty. Lucky for Mommy and Daddy I don’t have any teeth yet or else I would have ruined the structural stability of the table.

I previously tried the chair legs, but since then Daddy has covered them in foam pads because I kept knocking my head on them. The foam pads don’t taste as good, but they are nice and chewy!

Sleep poop

A strange thing is happening now that I’m sleeping on my own. I am pooping a lot in my sleep. First it started off as a couple of marble-sized poops that Mommy and Daddy discovered when they changed by diaper in the morning. Then it escalated to them noticing my smelly diaper when I woke up for my midnight bottle. I’d have two or three rocks of poop or a golf ball size poop.

But last night I pooped a lot. I was crying out for my midnight bottle and when Mommy and Daddy came in to come get me, they were temporarily repelled by the smell. The room smelled quite bad. When they changed my diaper they found a diaper load in there. The smell lingered for a while. So much so that they didn’t really notice anything in the morning. When they changed my diaper they found a racquet-size poop in my diaper. What’s with all this pooping in my sleep? Or maybe I pooped while trying to put myself to sleep. I’m not really sure. One theory is that during the day I’m so busy exploring and playing that I don’t take the time to poop. But when I’m in my crib, all I have is time, so it seems like a better use of my time to poop then. Whatever the case, Mommy and Daddy are going to be doing smell checks a lot more frequently during the night.

Cottage cheese and tuna (separately)

Today we added to the fats and proteins I eat. I started off with grains, moved on to a lot of vegetables, and then added fruits. Now it is time for more hearty foods.

The cottage cheese in Japan is really expensive so Mommy just made some for me. It was pretty good. It tasted a lot like yogurt, which I like, so it was easy to eat.

The tuna I had today was a store bought meal: tuna tomato risotto. It was quite tasty! I’ll be trying tuna on it’s own later on. For now, the tuna in the baby food was a good start.

Snack time

I’m getting bigger and more active, so that means that I get hungrier quicker. So I get to have little healthy snacks to hold me over to my next meal. Today I had a couple of rice crackers. I’m such big boy now that I didn’t need to be fed. I was able to eat it all by myself. I also ate it while sitting down. Don’t I look all grown up?
