I’m still having trouble getting the hang of crawling. I’m getting better at pushing me self up and lifting my tummy off the floor, but I can’t seem to get my knees under my hips. So I end up pushing myself backwards. It is quite frustrating. I’m not giving up, though. I’m going to keep at it!
Daddy chair again

Remember how I used to love sitting in my Daddy chair? Well, there was a time after that when I didn’t really like sitting that way. I don’t really know why. But now I like it again. It is a pretty comfy and I already spend way to much time on the floor on my back or my tummy, so it is a welcomed change of scenery.
Soup bowl
I am a good eater and still love all the food that I am given! Sometimes I enjoy eating too much and get into a feeding frenzy, eating anything near my mouth. Usually that is food, but sometimes that includes the bowl as well.
Mommy and Daddy better watch their hands. I might accidentally bight the hands that feed me. Actually, I already chew on their fingers and hands whenever I can, so that wouldn’t be anything new.
Flying Mason
Anything is possible when I play with Daddy. Today he made it so that I could fly! It was so much fun and thrilling! Forget trying to crawl, this is the way to move!

Toothbrush
With all the new food I am eating, it is time for me to start thinking about dental hygiene. So Mommy and Daddy got me a baby toothbrush. I think the name is a bit of a misnomer because I have no teeth to brush. Maybe “gum massager” would be a more appropriate name.
My toothbrush has these short tiny soft silicon bristles that massage and clean my gums. They are not hard or painful, but they are a new sensation. I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first, but I got used to it and started to appreciate the stimulation on my itchy gums. I think it also is cleaning my gums because it makes me drool profusely and that is likely to help clean my mouth.

Ahhh! Now my gums are clean!

Chilling with Daddy on a Saturday morning

When Daddy has his days off and doesn’t have to work, I like just hanging out with him. We don’t have to do anything special to enjoy spending time together. We often just chill out and chat with each other.
Late night drinking

Yeah…I have no explanation for this picture. I was drinking my bottle and had my legs up in the air for some reason.
Blanket hoverchair

When Daddy finishes a long day of work, he can’t wait to play with me. He is so desperate to entertain me that he comes up with the weirdest and goofiest things. Today he turned my blanket into a hoverchair and had me slide around the floor. It was odd, but surprisingly fun. It really felt like I was hover off the ground and zooming around. Apparently I have to work on my steering.
In-Vested Mason

Weather is getting colder, but that’s okay, because I’m in-vested to stay warm! Hahaha!
Not funny? Yeah, Daddy taught me that joke. Now I know what a “Dad joke” is. *sigh*
New chew toy
I made an amazing discovery today! The flooring mat is made of panels and has interlocking pieces, including a border that goes all the way around. That border can be separated from the mat and that means that it is supposed to go in my mouth to be chewed. Why else would they make it like that? So, that’s what I did. I found out how to pry that piece apart and shove it in my mouth to chew on. Mommy and Daddy say that it is not food. I know that. I don’t intend to eat it, just chew on it. It is not food, it is my new chew toy!
Frustrated trying to crawl
This crawling thing is really hard! Why can’t I get it? It is so frustrating! I want to crawl, and kind of know how to crawl, but I can’t do it. Will I ever get it? So frustrating!

Cushion desk

Look at me with my cushion desk. It helps keep me safe when I’m practicing sitting and it makes me look very professional. “Hello! How may I help you?”
Bad dream
I have a pretty reliable feeding schedule. I wake up between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. for my late night feeding. But sometimes I wake up before that. Well, not really wake up. I cry because I had a bad dream. I’m not quite awake, so it is harder for Mommy and Daddy to comfort me and calm me down. They have to pick me up, comfort me until I wake up, and then put me back to sleep. Although sometimes, I escape whatever terrors that are causing me to cry in my dream and slip back to sleep. Tonight was not one of those nights.
New Lion King cast member
Don’t get too excited, I’m not playing a major character. I’m just zebra #2 right now. But I have plans to move up in the ranks. Simba, here I come.

Frustrated with the Rubik’s cube
I don’t get it. I could solve the Rubik’s cube before without any problems. Why is it giving me so my trouble today? Maybe I’m just not on my game today. It’s quite frustrating not being able to solve this thing. Aaaaarrrghh!
Half birthday special meal

I’m too young to eat a birthday cake, so Mommy made me a special half birthday meal! It is made completely out of my normal solid foods. I had rice porridge, carrots, broccoli, and corn. These are all my favorites! I was so excited to get a special half birthday meal that I couldn’t wait!

Mommy and Daddy unintentionally yelped as I reached for my food plate, which caused me to cry thinking I had done something wrong. Of course, I had done nothing wrong (after all it was my food). They just didn’t want me to spill my food because they know how much I love to eat! Mommy and Daddy apologized for surprising me and started feeding me right away. Once they started feeding me, I calmed down and was quite happy. It looked a bit harder for Daddy to scoop my food off of the plate instead of from my usual bowl, but he was for the most part able to keep a fast pace to keep my hunger sated. When I eat and the spoon of food isn’t coming fast enough, (meaning nearly continuously), I get cranky.
My food was good in no time.

As usual, it was delicious! Mommy is a great cook and she is also very creative! The special half birthday meal and my photo shoot were all her idea! I can’t wait till my first birthday! Who knows what she’ll have in store for me then.
Half a year old!

I’m half a year old! Can you believe it? I’m so old that I can count my age in years instead of months. Half a year old sounds so much more mature than 6 months old. It goes without saying that I have grown a lot in 6 months.

My weight gain has leveled off and I am holding steady at just under 10kg (22 lbs). So I don’t know if I look much bigger than last month, but when compared to 1 month old, I have grown a lot!

Not only am I bigger, but I can do so much more! I’m not talking, walking, or crawling, but I’m working on that. I can hold my head up, roll over, sit (sort of), grab things (really well), suck on my fingers and toes, and shuffle around (backwards). I’m much more expressive and love flashing my big brilliant smile! I laugh all the time, sometimes at the weirdest things, but with an intoxicating laugh. I am very curious of the world around me and am always exploring with my hands, which means I’m eventually putting anything I can get my hands on in my mouth. I’m eating solid foods now and loving all of it!
In fact, I’m really loving my life! I am a very happy baby!

Happy half-birthday to me!
Morning nap
Waking up is a lot of work. Time for a nap.

Bundled up
It has been getting colder over here. You may have noticed that I am no longer wearing short sleeve clothes and I usually have a couple of layers on. Because of the cooling weather, it is pretty cold after I finish my bath. Mommy and Daddy have to bundle me up really well to make sure I don’t get too cold. Good thing I have a very big towel. It won’t be long before I get too big to be bundled up.
