Future Starbucks addict

I’m happy that I get to eat solid foods, but it looks like Mommy and Daddy get much better foods and drinks than I do. When do I get to try some of that stuff. Every once in a while they treat themselves to something called “Starbucks”. I don’t know what it is, but I know that I want some!

Weight stabilization

I had another informal weigh-in today. The scale wasn’t very reliable, fluctuating a lot as I moved, but it looks like I haven’t gain much weight in the last month or so. I look to be about 9.5kg. So, it looks like my weight gain has plateaued a bit. Which is good news for my sore-back parents who have to carry me. I’m not the ideal-weight baby for parents in their 40s.

Laughing/Crying?

Sometimes my moods teeter on a pinpoint. I can be happy one second and then sad the next. Sometimes I can flip flop back and forward. The result is laughing/crying that could actually be crying/laughing. It is hard to tell. Usually this means that I’m so tired and sleepy that I don’t really know what I’m feeling.

Bouncy baby

I love playing and I particularly like thrilling sensations! Daddy played bouncy baby with me and you can see on my face how much I enjoyed it.

It’s a really fun activity, but short lived. It is quite tiring for Daddy. After 47 seconds he is pooped!

Daddy carry

Today I spend a lot of time with Daddy because it is his day off and Mommy had an appointment. Daddy carried me around a shopping mall as we bought some groceries and looked at the fall line of clothes. It’s starting to get a little cold now and I need to update my wardrobe. When I was sleepy, Daddy had me facing him so that I could nap, but when I was awake he flipped me to face outward and see everything around us. I was very excited by that and would bounce up and down and kick my legs out. As fun as it was, being out and about sure can be tiring and I was quite pooped by the end of our outing. I imagine Daddy was too after packing around this nearly 10kg baby.

Teething ring pound and toss

Not only am I very strong for my age, but I have quite good hand control now. That means that I can grab things very accurately and adeptly. But that control with my strength can lead to some violent actions. I was chewing on my teething ring today and I started to play with it, quite roughly, and that led to it just flying out of my hands! I guess I don’t know my own strength.

Phone awe

Mommy and Daddy use there phones for all kinds of things. They use it to record my daily routine (feeding, naps, diaper changes, etc.), play music, communicate with people, and of course take thousands of pictures of me. These little devices sure are amazing. I am literally in awe of them. Wow!

Hydrating

With the addition of solid foods to my diet I’ve been pooping less often. I’m not longer as regular as before. I used to poop every morning like clockwork, but now I skip a day or two in a week. I think I need more liquids. Good thing I have my mug to quench my thirst and keep me hydrated.

Spinach

I hear that some kids don’t like their green vegetables, especially things like spinach. But I also heard that Popeye loves his spinach. So I guess I’m going to love spinach too. I already have Popeye-like forearms, so I think it matches me.

New favorite snack

When I have no teething rings or toys to chew on near by, I just shove my new favorite snack in my mouth. I’ve been sucking and chewing on my feet a lot lately. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy find me awake in my crib just contently chewing away on my toes. Other times I may be in the middle of a conversation and then literally put my foot in my mouth.

Laughing and Crying

The life of a baby is full of ups and downs, laughing and crying. Often, they are paired very close together. These mood swings are quite extreme. One moment I can be crying my head off, and then laughing joyfully the next. These two videos took place within 30 minutes of each other.
