My face changes a lot depending on my angle. With this huge cheeks, gravity affects the shape of my face a lot. But no matter what angle you look at me, I’m pretty cute!
Visiting Jiichan and Baachan
We went to visit Jiichan and Baachan today! Obachan (aunty) also came to visit. They were so happy to see me and really surprised at how big I grew. I was happy to see them, but it took a while to get use to their house.
This is how I started off.

And this is after I got comfortable around everyone again.
I got so comfortable that I was a bundle of smiles and laughter when playing with them.
It was nice seeing everyone again. I think everyone was impressed with how big I’ve gotten and how cute I still am. It was fun and I look forward to seeing them again!
I had so much fun that I was sound asleep for the ride home.

Lounging with a book
I’ve come so close to rolling over and not finished it that Mommy and Daddy don’t really get as excited when I am on my side. It is quite common now. It is a comfortable position for me to just lounge with a good book.

Huggable pillow
My play mat came with a body pillow, which is perfect for hugging. But I’m not actually trying to hug it. I’m trying to chew on it. But try as I might, I can’t seem to find a good way to fit any part of it in my mouth. So I end up just hugging and slobbering all over it. Not as gratifying.

Changing mat nap
Sometimes wake up because of a wet diaper and then fall right back asleep after its changed. I mean RIGHT AFTER. I look so peaceful sometimes that Daddy just let’s me sleep on my changing mat until I wake up or need to be fed.

iPhones
Mommy and Daddy are always using these little flat bricks to take my picture. They are called iPhones. Mommy and Daddy use them for a lot o things. Besides taking pictures and videos the thing they use it for the most is to record all my pees, poops, naps, and feedings. This way they can quickly check when it’s time for me to eat or how long it’s been since my last nap. They also use the iPhones to play my music to entertain me or help me sleep. These are pretty convenient little devices.
They also look at other things for communication, information, and entertainment. So these aren’t just Mason-picture-taking devices. They have other purposes as well. I wonder how old I have to be to get one of them. I know I’m too young right now at 4 months old. So maybe 6 months? 7 months? Just in time for Christmas!

Arm wrestling champ
Naturally, I am strong for my age and pretty strong for my weight class. But did you know that I’m also strong outside my weight class? I am actually the reigning arm wrestling champion of the household. The title was previously held by Daddy but I beat him hands down!
It was a tough match, but I was pretty confident that I could beat Daddy. Notice the mic drop at the end to truly establish who the champion is!
Sleeping on my side
I’m not really fond of taking naps on my mat. I much rather be carried. But it seems that if I have to sleep on my mat I prefer to do it on my side. It’s more comfortable than on my back for some reason. I can also do cute poses like these.
High
I like being held up high! When Daddy is sitting on the floor and props me up on his knees, I laugh and smile a lot. Even though I’m comparatively lower than being carried by him when he is standing, I think I just enjoy being higher than his head. For some reason that is thrilling to me.

So we tested the theory out and put me on Daddy’s head while he was seated. Sure enough, I loved it!
Groggy
Sometimes I wake up from my naps in a really cranky mood and it takes me a while to calm down. Sometimes I wake up in a good mood and am all smiles and ready to play. Sometimes I sort of wake up and am not really awake yet. At these times I’m just a bit groggy.
4 Months Old
I’m 4 months old! Wow! That was fast! I’m already 1/3 of a year old. It feels like I’m speeding toward that 1 year mark very quickly.
I had my 4-month check up and I am a healthy baby, albeit a very large baby. The nurse had to take a couple measurements again just to be sure. She measured my abdomen and then looked at the number with a tilted head an unsure face. She took my measurement again, this time with me sitting up. Same result: BIG BABY! It is even noted in my records that I am 大柄 “oogara” which means “large build”. Which is a polite way of saying HUGE BABY!
I’m now literally off the charts in weight. I was barely within the norms of the charts before, but now I broke through and I am cruising way above the 98 percentile line.

Well, as long as I’m healthy. You can check and compare my growth below

Couch fun
Just playing around on the couch with Daddy.
First some cushion wrestling.
Then some tickling and dancing.
And some quiet time to close.

Sleeping like an angel
You know, this is a very nappable couch. Quite comfy.

Couch commander
I claim this couch as my own! Even though I am the smallest and youngest member of this household, I deem that this couch is now and shall forever be mine! Since, from what I gather, this household seems to revolve around me.

I am the commander of this couch and I can do whatever I want.

What’s this? Safety precautions? I don’t need this cushion for support. I’m fully capable to sitting on my own! Off with this supportive device! I need no help!

Um…..a little help here. Anyone?
*No Masons were harmed during this blog post. All Masons were carefully monitored and safety measures were in place.
Smiles
Just a couple of morning smiles for you! Have a great day!
Off mat
I can’t roll over or crawl yet, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not mobile. You’ve seen how much I move. It turns out that all that movement equals slow and steady shuffling across the floor. This is the result.

Long effort to roll over
When I make an effort to roll over, I don’t give up easily. I really try my best to roll over. But naturally, there is a limit to my energy. If it doesn’t happen, I eventually have to give up. It is an unfortunate result, but I’ll definitely try again later.
Wriggling off couch
For a change of view I like to lounge on the couch a lot. But I haven’t quite figured out that it is not as big as the floor and that there is a risk of falling off. Today I wriggled my way off (half on purpose) into Daddy’s lap. I’d better be careful not to wriggle off onto the floor.
Lounging with cushions
Lying on my play mat all day can get boring and a bit hot on my back. Being carried is great, but also hot. I found that a few breaks on the couch with cushions is relaxing and not too hot. Aaaaaah, that’s nice.
