Size 9-months, my big baby butt! There is no way this is meant for 9-month-old babies. Look at it. A perfect fit on me, a 3-month-old baby. I think I’d better have a word with the people in charge of clothes size standards. I would be insulted by the size label if this weren’t such a cute outfit. Teeheehee! Look how cute the little happy monkey is! Also, the design on the shirt.
Yum! There are this tiny little sausage like things that are always nearby that are so tasty to chew on. I haven’t yet managed to actually eat them, but I do munch away on them quite often. They come in packs of five. Four of them are about the same size, but one of them is a bit shorter and fatter. They are attached to this handy-dandy holder, so I usually chew on four at a time. But sometimes I manage to fit all five in my mouth, and once in a while even the holder. They are smooth and soft on the outside, but a bit hard on the inside, perfect for teething babies. Not only do they taste good, but they are always available. The moment I think about chewing on something, one of the two sets I have at hand are there in my mouth. How convenient.
I love my doggies! They are my friends who keep me company and watch over me. The probably is that they can turn feral sometimes and bite the hand that feeds them.
Nah, they’re not feral. We’re just playing. Besides, they can’t bite the hand that feeds them because nobody feeds them. Hmmm. Hunger might be a reason to turn feral. Maybe I should start feeding them, but what do you feed stuffed doggies? Cotton balls?
I was surprised to see my uncle back for another visit today. He only had a few days in his hometown and he decided to dedicate a second day to visiting me! I think he really adores me. He was brave enough to hold me even more than before. Not an easy task considering how heavy I am. I guess I’m worth it!
It is important to do stretches. First of all, I don’t want to pull a muscle or anything. I’m very active and am moving almost all the time. Warmups and stretches are a very important part of my day.
Another reason to do stretches is to increase my reach. If I stretch a little every day my reach extends just far enough to get to things that I shouldn’t be touching. Like today when Mommy was changing my diaper I started pulling a bunch of trash bags out of my diaper organizer. Thank you, stretches!
You know how I like peekaboo? Well, I like “inai inai ba” just as well. It’s pretty much the same thing. Unlike peekaboo, there is a bit more of a build up to the great reveal.
I figured out why baby clothes all have buttons at the bottom. It’s to prevent babies from stripping down and going naked. I know clothes are cute on babies, but I think we were meant to be bare and free! I must rid myself of this cumbersome covering!
When I get hungry I am REALLY hungry! The only thing on my mind is nursing. It is sometimes frustrating when I get hungry before my feeding time. I know where to get my food, but I’m not allowed to eat yet. All I can do is scream, “I am HUNGRY!”
We went shopping and found a nice outfit for me. Mommy and Daddy were having trouble with the sizes because I’m not yet 3 months old, but I was obviously too big for the 3M size. Even the 6M size looked like it would be a little too small on me or only be good for a couple weeks. So we went for the 9M size. I am far from 9 months old, but it looks like it might be a good fit.
Either I’m really big for my age or the size standards for baby clothes is really off.
Daddy and I discovered a new way to play hide-and-seek without having to get up and run around. He basically hides behind the mirror and arches of my play mat and I have to find him. It sounds simple, but it’s no. It sounds boring, but it’s not. I love it! It is so much fun! I have a feeling that this will lead to bigger things, like peek-a-boo and inai inai ba.
I’m a bit of a sportsman. I can’t stand staying still and like moving around a lot so I decided to pick up a few sports. Not only are they fun, but they help me keep fit.
I’ve been doing boxing for quite some time now. I like to punch the toys hanging from my playmat. I’m getting pretty good at my accuracy.
I haven’t sparred yet, although I do throw and occasional accidental punch at Mommy and Daddy when they pick me up or carry me. Absolutely unintentional. As are the sudden headbutts.
Footwork is an important part of boxing, but since I can’t stand up yet I had to be creative with how I use my feet. Instead of just kicking at the air, I decided to combing two sports: boxing and soccer. Boxcer! I’ve got to tell you, it is a really good workout and takes a lot of coordination. But they main thing is that it’s fun!
I have a reputation for not liking to be put down for naps, opting to be held when I sleep. I can sleep in my crib at night, but during the day when I’m put down for my nap I snap awake in a bad mood. Grandma suggested that I try napping on my tummy, while monitored by Mommy and Daddy. We gave it a shot and it worked!
I didn’t sleep for extremely long, but I did have a decent nap and woke up in in a pretty good mood.
Looking at the picture of me napping, it kind of looks like a photo right after I tripped. Kersplat!
You’ve seen how talkative I can be when chatting with Daddy. But that is not always the case. Sometimes I’m pretty relaxed and chill during our chats. I just like to sit in his lap and listen to his voice. Instead of giving him my attention, a lot of times I like to look at Mommy. I’m still listening, I’m just enjoying the time the three of us spend together.
I met my uncle for the first time today! He is a teacher in Tokyo and came home for the summer break. He was very excited to meet me for the first time. He was very happy to see me and was instantly infatuated by me. At first he gave me my space, but kept watching me intently. Then little by little he would reach out to hold my hand and touch my cheek. He really admired how soft and smooth my skin was.
As he watched me, I was watching him. He looked somewhat familiar. He looked a little like Ojiisan. I was in a pretty good mood so we decided it was a good chance for him to carry me. His initial reaction: “Heavy!”
I was okay for a bit, but then I started to feel that something was off. This was not what I was used to. Uncle tried his best to keep me calm, but I was not comfortable with this change. So the result was inevitable.
There was nothing wrong with the way he was carrying me, it is just not what I’m used to. I like the way Mommy and Daddy carry me. The proof is in the smile.
Even though I wasn’t so in the best mood when he carried me, I did like having him around. I had fun meeting him. It’s nice to have another person who adores me.
It was really nice to finally meet my uncle, but I realize there are many more relatives who are eager to meet me too! I can’t wait!
I’m usually in my best moods right after I eat. I either drift off into a deep peaceful sleep or I am very alert and responsive. This morning was the latter. I was alert, responsive, and happy, but also busy digesting my meal. What a good start to the day!
I enjoy it so much that I get too excited and start kicking a lot. So much that I sometimes kick myself right off my play mat.
I don’t get hurt, but I do get surprised. The floor is hard and cold, which can be quite a shock. But you would think I would try not to do it, but I quite often end up in this position.
