Wristwatch

I made a cool wristwatch at school and got to bring it home today. I was so proud of it that I was so excited to show it to everyone.

Daddy finished work fairly early and we were all able to meet up for dinner at a restaurant on the way home. The first thing I did was show him my watch and all the functions. He thought his Apple Watch was cool, but he was really jealous of my one-of-a-kind Mason Watch.

After a great dinner we talked more about my watch on our walk home.

Park and bus stops

At the park we played cops and robbers and ran around a lot! It was fun but quite tiring.

For a change of pace I also played in the sand a bit.

On the way back to school I announced, “Next stop, flowers”, “Next stop, the flag pole” and “Next stop, nursery school” like a bus announcement.

New pajamas

I tried out some new pajamas today and I really like them. They are quite tight, but that makes them feel nice like a firm embrace. Also they are cooler than my other pajamas so I have a feeling I’ll have a better sleep in these.

Update: I slept the whole night without waking up.

Crane game

Daddy and I went to the book store today while Mommy worked. We picked up a couple of very cool books after having a lot of fun perusing the selection at the book store. Next to the book store was a game center and we went to check it out.

There were a lot of games and rides that Daddy thought I might like, but I wasn’t feeling like doing any of those. Then I spotted a crane game that had Tomica (toy cars) as prizes. So we gave it a shot. Without really knowing what I was doing I was able to scoop cars to knock the Tomica off the ledge. Score!

I ended up with a Tomica police car and a couple of pocket Tomica along with several plastic filler cars. It was a pretty good haul if you ask me.

Making cookies

Today Daddy and I decided to make cookies. It has been a while since we cooked or baked together. I did a very good job helping to measure the ingredients and mixing them. I pretty much helped with every step except baking them. I hope they turn out okay.

Update: The cookies are awesome! I am a bit addicted to them. They are so yummy and even better because I helped bake them.

Second update: Mommy took some of our cookies to work to share with her coworkers and everyone loved them! They were impressed with how delicious they were, but more impressed that I helped make them. (Some were just impressed that Daddy bakes with his son). With such great feedback we’ll have to make some again soon, especially because I think I will finish off our supply fairly quickly.

Sushi

We went out for sushi for dinner tonight and boy did I enjoy it. I had five plates of sushi and most of them were ikura. I also shared some sides too. So I pretty much ate and adult’s worth of food and loved it! I think Mommy and Daddy are restricting me to the cheaper conveyor belt sushi because once I have a taste of really good sushi it is going to cost them an arm and a leg.

Play area

We went to Costco today so that means I got to play at the play area in the shopping complex! I spent a lot of time in the ball pit, particularly going down the slide into the ball pit.

I tried a few new things like bouldering, but not for long.

I played with trains a while but then discovered the dolls. I had fun playing with the dolls, but I had a lot more fun playing with the strollers because they had wheels on them.

I also tried my hand at big building blocks. I did pretty good, but none of the blocks had wheels so it didn’t hold my interest too long.

Pooping

I’m doing pretty good with my potty training and pooping in the potty a lot more. But there are some times when I can’t get to the potty in time or just don’t feel like using the potty. For some reason when I poop, I have to lift my shirt up. It might have to do with my teachers telling me to keep my shirt up when I use the potty so it doesn’t get dirty, but I’m pretty sure the same doesn’t apply to pooping in my diaper. I do it anyway.

Evening drive

Daddy picked me up from school today. We had a nice conversation on our walk home as usual.

We got home and ate dinner so quickly that I had time for an evening drive before I had to go take a bath. The summer days are getting longer and longer.

Ambulance and bugs

On the way. to the park today we saw an ambulance and we were all very excited. We love seeing vehicles of all kinds, especially emergency vehicles. At the park we ran around and played with balls, but we spent a lot of time gathering up leaves and looking for bugs.

Language skills

My language skills are developing every day. I ask a lot of questions and use a lot of expressions that I heard. I often surprise Mommy and Daddy with word or phrases that they didn’t know I knew.

When playing outside one weekend, Daddy was working in the garden while I was driving my Mercedes around. I asked him, “Daddy, are you done? I thought you were done already.”

The other day, I was playing with Magnatiles with Daddy and he made something strange. I said, “Daddy, what are you making? It looks funny to me.”

Even though my language skills are quite good, I still have trouble with some words and phrases. I often use “because” instead of “so”. And I have trouble with pronouns sometimes. One time when I wanted to sit on Mommy’s lap I said, “Can you sit on Mommy’s lap?” Mommy corrected me, saying, “No, you say, ‘Can I sit on your lap?'” To which I replied, “Yes, you can.”

Color mixing

Today we experimented with colors. We put coffee filters into cups of watered down paints and watched how the colors seeped into the paper. We also watched as the colors bled into each other and mixed to make new colors. I was amazed to watch blue and red make purple and yellow and red make orange. Fascinating!

In English class we learned a lot of things. We learned about body parts, counting to 20, the weather, and bugs. When asked which bug I liked, I said, “spider”, which is not really true. It was just what was left to choose from. Everyone was very impressed by my pronunciation and my classmates often mimic me.

Pineapple carving

Today at school we had a pineapple carving presentation. We learned a lot about pineapples, including the parts that we don’t eat and don’t normally see. We touched the outside and saw how pineapples are cut properly so that we don’t get any dangerous parts. And of course we ate the pineapple as part of lunch. Education can be very delicious!

Dental care and railroad crossing

I cried a bit when I got to school today. I guess I still felt a bit sad about my morning behavior.

We had a lesson about dental care and we all listened very intently. We are scheduled to get fluoride treatment later this month so we want to give our teeth the best chance at good health.

At the park we played railroad crossing. Our teacher was the railroad crossing and we would stop when her arm was down and cross when her arm was up. We also played with balls. I was practicing my soccer skills by kicking and dribbling a ball. I’m getting much better at it.

Morning apology

I was in a bad mood this morning and I threw a tantrum. I wouldn’t get ready for school so we were behind schedule. It was so bad that Mommy had to leave before Daddy and me so that she could get to work on time.

I eventually calmed down and got ready for school. But I felt bad about how I behaved. On our walk to school Daddy helped me record an apology video to send to Mommy so that we could both start our Daddy without my morning behavior ruining it.

Morning songs and cops and robbers

This morning we started off with a morning song, but I wasn’t feeling it and just sat and observed instead of singing and doing the motions.

I was much more into our park playtime where we played cops and robbers. We chased our teacher around and around.

When it was time for a water break we said, “Let’s go to the gas station” and when we were done drinking our tea we head back out and said, “Gas tank is full!”
