Daddy’s home

I was happy to see that Daddy got home early enough to have dinner with us. He also came home with some goodies.

After I ate all my dinner and drank all my milk I got to eat the pudding that Daddy brought home for me. It was so yummy!

After eating I had time to play with my magnatiles before getting ready for bed. I made a big rig truck, with a ramp to help cars get in the back, of course.

For my bedtime book, Daddy read a Hawaiian language book. It had been a long time since we read that one. For some reason I found the Hawaiian language really funny. I guess I knew it wasn’t English or Japanese so it just sounded like sounds to me. I found it so funny that I literally fell over laughing. I hit my head, but I was okay. I recovered quickly and enjoyed more Hawaiian language book reading.

Rainy day

When we got to school today we had to wait for our turn to get in. While waiting I spotted a bus in the distance, even through all the rain.

We started the day with our rhythmic class.

Then we played with some clay.

We did some coloring too.

Even though we couldn’t go out on account of the rain, we had a fun day!

Busy day

I got ready for school very quickly this morning so I had some time to play before we left. I made a pickup truck with my magnatiles. I even added a convenient little ramp so that my Hotwheels could up into the cab to drive the pickup truck.

On our walk at the park we saw some ducks so we stopped by to say hello.

We also stopped by to see the cherry blossoms that were still in bloom. They were so pretty. I commented to my teacher, “There are so many sakura. They are so pretty!”

Mommy made me a special happy dinner that was a great end to a great day.

Thanks

Tonight after dinner, I brought my dishes to the kitchen and told Mommy, “Mama, thank you for making dinner” without any prompting or anything. It was just something that I felt had to be said. Mommy was very happy to hear me say that. I was very happy to say it as well. It is nice to be thankful and grateful.

New school year

It is the start of a new school year. This will be my last year at my nursery school. Next year I will be moving on to a preschool. I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone by. Just two years ago I first started at my school and even though it was a rough start I have grown to love this school and I have learned so much here. I’m going to make the most of my last year here.

Today was a nice day and we went to the park to run around! Even though it has only been a couple of days since I’ve seen my friends, we really missed playing with each other. Now that we are upperclassmen we really feel much more grown up. There are two other classes of kids who will look up to us and we have to set a good example. First lesson, run around without a care in the world.

On our way back to school we talked about our Dr. Yellow spotting last week and we stopped by the bread shop just to take a look at what they had.

It was a normal school day and that is a good sign. I have a feeling that this will be my best school year yet!

Bedtime conversations

At bedtime, it usually takes me a long time to go to sleep. I like to talk to Daddy about all kinds of things while winding down and getting sleepy. This is just a sample of some of the interesting conversations that we have.

Talking about watches, tow trucks, bedtime socks, bare belly.

Talking about buses, cats, dogs, Mommy and Daddy loves Mason, closing eyes.

Umi no Nakamichi – Hanami

We headed to Umi no Nakamichi for our traditional hanami pictures. Every year since Mommy was pregnant with me, we’ve been going to Umi no Nakamichi for cherry blossom viewing.

We got to test out our wagon and it worked great. What a smooth ride! According to Daddy it was pretty easy to pull and a lot easier than carry me everywhere so we are all happy with the wagon performance.

On our way to the hanami spot we spotted something even better: food trucks. One of those food trucks was selling hamburgers and we just had to get some. We brought spam musubi and other picnic food for lunch, but Daddy and I dug into our hamburgers once we found a picnic spot. I pretty much finished that huge hamburger on my own and ate a spam musubi and other food. Picnics just make food more enjoyable.

It rained a bit so we had to take cover. Then we went exploring.

I found a fun hill to run up and down.

With our handy wagon I can help out a lot more now. I’m not only the pullee but also the puller. Well, at least for a bit.

There was a hug playground in the park and I was very eager to play there. I’ve been there before, but I was much smaller when I went there. This time I was aiming to ride the big slide. It took me a while to work the courage up for it, but once I started I could not stop.

I rode the big slide more times than I could count. It was so much fun. I commented that it was like a racecar.

We met Baaba and Jiiji at the park and it was nice to see them. They had fun watching me play on the play ground and go down the big slide again and again.

It was such a fun day at the park! I can’t wait for our next visit!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everybody! Easter is not a big holiday here in Japan, but Nana and Papa always send a card as a reminder. And, look, I even got some spending cash too! Thank you!

Even though it is Easter Sunday I was told that the Easter Bunny is very busy and he is going to postpone his visit to Japan until next week, so no Easter egg hunt today. But I’ll be sure to be hunting some eggs next week.

Bus to dinner

As I usually do, I asked if we could ride a bus today. We didn’t really have specific plans to, but Mommy and Daddy managed to arrange dinner plans that required a bus ride, which was awesome.

Dinner was great! But the star was dessert! The restaurant had an ice cream bar that we took full advantage of.

On our way home I got tired of walking so I asked for a piggy-back ride. But then my ride just kept running away. It was so much fun that even after I got my piggy-back ride I preferred my ride to run away from me.

Park in the spring

While at the park we found a ladybug. Which was very lucky because I had been looking for one since we got to the park. We weren’t too hopeful to find one but then while playing we just saw one land nearby. Then I followed it intently.

Later Daddy and I played not-catch.

FaceTime hide and seek with Nana and Papa

During our FaceTime chat with Nana and Papa I started to disappear and wander off. So Nana and Papa started to do the same. When I came back, they came back. Then it naturally developed into a game. I would run off and when I looked back at the iPad, Nana and Papa were nowhere to be seen. But when I came back to the iPad they appeared. We had a lot of fun playing this remote game! Too much fun actually. I was laughing like crazy and even ended up throwing up a bit. I was fine, but after that, we decided to have a calmer FaceTime visit.

Rain gear shopping

We decided that it was time for me to have some proper rain gear for when it rains. I’m getting to big to carry when it rains. Not only am I bigger and heavier, but trying to manage an umbrella to keep me dry is really hard for Mommy and Daddy. So if I have my own rain gear I can keep dry and give Mommy and Daddy a break at the same time.

Breakfast or dessert

We went out for breakfast today. But I must have ordered wrong because while I ordered toast and a hard-boiled egg, Mommy ordered what looked like a dessert. It was a pastry with ice cream on top. But it was only a mini order and of course she shared with me. We enjoy our “breakfasts” (read: dessert in the A.M.).

Morning wheels

There isn’t a day when I don’t play with some wheels. Or a morning for that matter. This morning was no different. Well, until a delivery arrived with a new set of wheels. We got a wagon! It is not actually supposed to be to carry me. It is supposed to be to carry bags and food when we go to the very large park for a picnic or something. But I have a feeling that I’ll be riding in it a lot.

Last day of the school year

Today was the last day of the school year. A lot of the day was just like any other day. We went to the park, we had a lot of fun, it was a great day.

But I found out that my teacher will not be coming back next year. I was quite sad to hear that. She has been my teacher these two years and has really helped me a lot. She was always kind and patient with me, and knew exactly how to deal with my outbursts and tantrums. I’m really going to miss her. She was big part of my life and my growing up. I wish her the best and hope I can see her again.

What a great school year! It seemed to have gone by really fast. Look how much I have grown!

Talking to Caitie on my imaginary phone

I like to pretend that I have a phone like Mommy and Daddy do. I sometimes pretend to check things on it or talk on it. This morning when I went to school I got a call from Caitie, who is on one of my shows, and she asked me to greet people when I see them. So when I got to school I said “Ohayo” to my teacher. Everybody was so proud of me! I got a call from Caitie tonight telling me that I did a great job and asking me to keep up the good work.
