Dinner and dizzy

We picked up some sushi for dinner, or at least that’s what I heard. I was still sleeping in the car. When we got home I was wide awake and hungry. I was happy to see that Mommy and Daddy got me some ikura sushi for dinner. Yummy!

I ate really well and was in such a great mood after. I was being really silly and made myself really dizzy too.

Sleeping during shopping

We went shopping today…at least that’s what I heard. I fell asleep during the short drive to the grocery store. Daddy stayed in the car with me while I slept while Mommy went shopping by herself. This always happens. I don’t like to take naps, but once I’m in the car I get very sleepy.

Cookies at the park

We went to the park to play and we also brought along the cookies that Mommy and I made for snack. They were delicious! I brought house along with us too, but he didn’t get to eat any cookies because these were people cookies not doggy cookies.

I also brought my pickup truck to play with. It drove all over the place.

We coincidentally saw my friend as they drove by so they stopped by to say hi. I gave her some of my cookies and then I just kept on playing. She played too…only not necessarily directly with me. It was a bit of parallel play. But it was nice to see her and I was glad that she liked the cookies that we made.

Leakage

Had a little bit of diaper leakage so I had to change pants early in the morning. But I was very particular about which pants I wanted to wear. Even though it is still pretty cold I chose short pants. I didn’t complain though.

Hinamatsuri

Today at school we learned about Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day). Our teachers used a picture book to explain about the day and celebration. It is still early since Hinamatsuri is on March 3 (a Sunday), but it is good to be prepared. I listened quite intently to all the details.

We also went for a walk and stopped by a large Hinamatsuri display in a hotel. It was really cool! But I was more interested in the mail trucks that I saw on the way.

Bubbles and running

Today at the park we asked to play with bubbles and our request was answered. We had a lot of fun running around chasing the bubbles.

We also played Red light, green light. We understood the rules, but we kind of made the game Green light, green light.

We ran around so much that we had to take a lot of water breaks. I was actually very helpful and picked up some of my classmate’s water bottles and delivered them to them, telling my teacher, “This is so-and-so’s water bottle. I’ll bring it to him.”

I love you

I am such a loving little boy. I tell Mommy and Daddy that I love them almost every day. Not just as a response from them telling me that they love me. Out of the blue I’ll tell them, “I love you!” I also check in to see how they are doing by asking, “Are you happy?” They answer that they are and then ask me if I’m happy, I answer, “Mason is happy. Not sad. Not angry.” Then more often than not I follow up with, “Why people get sad?” or “Why people get angry?” I am very in touch with feeling and emotions and try to understand them more whenever I get the chance. And through understanding I am being more expressive as well. I love you!

Breakfast

I used to eat breakfast in my high chair, but during these winter months it has been too cold to sit there. So I started bundling myself under a blanket on the couch while sitting on Daddy’s lap. It is very comfy and I don’t intend to return to the high chair for breakfast. The only thing is that Daddy is not a morning person and is still quite sleepy so he often nearly drops my plate of food. Maybe I have to get a sturdier plate holder.

Friend in my book

In one of the books I borrow from school a lot there is a family going on a trip: a mother, little boy, and little girl. I have been calling the little girl “Kana-chan”, the name of my friend. So the story that I made is one where Mommy is taking Kana-chan and me on a bus ride. When asked where Kana-chan’s parents are I either say they are working or shopping. This has become a routine part of this story book for me.

Daddy tricking me to eat

Tonight we had some mushrooms on the menu that I was not a big fan of. I have eaten them before but I was being a little picky. Daddy tried to trick me into eating it by showing me that he was going to eat it. It almost work but his “distraction” also distracted me too.

He tried again and was successful in getting me to eat the mushrooms. Maybe a little too successful because I was stuffing my mouth with mushrooms but not actually eating it. I was having too much fun.

Oh, and by the way, I just felt like putting my foot in Mommy’s pocket while eating.

“Viva!”

There is a Japanese professional baseball player who plays for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks who has a celebratory pose when he hits a homerun. He does a “V” gesture and says “Viva!” Obachan is a big Hawks fan and follows the games a lot. She showed me the pose and it kind of stuck. “Viva!”
