Being silly

After lunch Daddy and I were playing and being silly. I wouldn’t put my socks on so he put them on his ears to look like a doggy. Naturally, I copied him but couldn’t quite get them to stay on. I guess my ears are too soft.

Then we were messing around with some sticky notes that I found.

Railroad crossing, McDonald’s, and the Sonic

Mommy visited a friend in Kitakyushu, so Daddy and I headed back home on our own ahead of her. On our way back we saw a bunch of trains at the railroad crossing, which was really cool.

Then we had a quick bite before our train home.

And wouldn’t you know it, our train home was a Sonic, the very same train that I saw earlier today and wanted to ride.

So I got to ride a Shinkansen and Sonic in the same day. What a great train day!

Too big for changing table

So this is what I look like on a diaper changing table in Japan. Yeah, I think I might want to consider potty training. Otherwise I’m going to have to be changed on the floor.

*Update: Daddy had to change my diaper on the floor of a restroom that didn’t even have a changing table. Of course he laid out a changing mat for me so I wasn’t directly on the dirty floor. Some public restrooms just don’t have diaper changing facilities.

Shinkansen

I got to ride the Shinkansen today. I’ve ridden one before, but it was for a very short distance and very short time when visiting Jiiji and Baaba. But today we rode it all the way to Kitakyushu! It was so cool! It was really fast but was so smooth that it didn’t really feel fast.

When we arrived in Kitakyushu I saw a Sonic train. I have the same toy at home and was very excited about seeing one in real life, so we took a picture.

After we reached our destination, for some reason I wanted to walk down the stairs instead of being carried. It was a long flight of stairs but I made it down all on my own.

Emergency vehicles

There was a emergency preparedness exhibition today in the city so we went to check it out. There were emergency vehicles that were really cool. I could have worn a child-sized firefighters outfit, but I was not feeling like dressing up. Instead I just enjoyed looking at all the vehicles. There were also booths that we visited and I got some cool stickers and pamphlets. It was pretty interesting.

Shirt hat

My new thing when taking a bath is to get a shirt hat. That is where Mommy or Daddy takes my shirt and turns it into a hat. I’m so proud of these hats that I have to go out and show it off.

By the way, don’t I look like a girl in this picture. So pretty!

Ready early

Sometimes I’m actually ready for school early and have a bunch of time to play. So that’s what I do. This morning I changed Ao-kun’s diaper, played with my cars, and watched a song on Daddy’s phone. All before it was time to leave for school.

Peeking at Daddy

When it is time to go to bed I come up with all kinds of reasons and ways to stall. I get out of bed to get a drink of water, change the car that I took to bed, or go looking for Daddy. After Daddy helps me get a drink of water or helps me find a different toy car and sends me on my way, I still pause at the door and peek at him. Sometimes to say a final goodnight and sometimes as a warning saying that I’ll be back to stall some more.
