Expressing myself

I’m getting much better at expressing my feelings at school, and I have less incidences of throwing, hitting, or biting. Instead I tell my teachers how I’m feeling, what I want to do and what I don’t want to do.

When it is nap time and I don’t want to nap, I tell my teachers that I want to read a book. Sometimes my teachers try to convince me to do something and I tell them “iya” or “No, I don’t want to.” But eventually we reach an understanding and I do as the ask. I’m slowly getting more agreeable and don’t have to insist on getting everything I want. Although my teachers are very accommodating, so like today when I tell them I don’t want to walk to the park they let me ride in the stroller.

More and more I can talk about things experiences. When flipping through vehicle books at school I tell my teachers that I rode that with Mommy and I rode this with Daddy.

Thumbs up

We always enjoy lunch time at school! The school cook always does a great job making everything healthy and delicious. She also always has seconds on hand for us big eaters. It was so good that I gave it my thumbs up. (Yeah, I know it is not my thumb. I’m working on it.)

Books and bento

I love my books and often have Mommy and Daddy read me books even when it is not time for my bedtime books. I’m always ready to read.

I’m also always ready to eat. Daddy was so busy again today that he missed lunch. So he brought home the bento he had bought for lunch. I helped him eat it even though I just finished my own dinner. I didn’t mean to eat up half of his food, it just ended up that way. I just wanted to keep him company. It is not good to eat alone.

Talking with friends

This morning when I got to school and was playing with one of my friends and he said, “Mama dakko” (Mommy carry me) and I responded with “Mama onbu” (Mommy piggy back me). And that was fun for us! We kept repeating that over and over again.

Also at the park I would run up to one of my friends and say, “Te tsunagu” (Let’s hold hands). I say that to my teachers too. I’m getting better at calling them by name as well. Every day I seem to be talking more.

Halloween decorations and chase

Today on our way to the park we saw a bunch of Halloween decorations. I guess since it is already October we can expect to see a lot more Halloween related things. We were all really into the decorations, especially the inflatable jack-o-lantern. So cool!

When we got to the park we had some fun playing chase. As usual, we weren’t really sure who was chasing whom, but it was still a lot of fun.
