Airplane

I like to play airplane with Daddy. I hop up on his legs and he moves them around so I can soar like an airplane. At least that’s how it started. It ended up with me learning that if I leaned forward he would launch me over him in a flip and have me land on my feet. So it became more of an acrobatic airplane than a regular airplane.
Waiting for our laundry to dry

The weather today was not great and we needed to dry a bunch of our laundry. It would take to long in our small Japanese combo washer/dryer, so we walked down to our local laundromat to dry everything in a large dyer. Everything was done in no time, but I had enough time to enjoy some juice.
Mommy sit down / See you later
Baby Mason
Recently I like to play with “Baby Mason” which is a cushion with a baby picture of me. I play with the cushion as if it is a doll. We play together, I talk to him, I read to him, and I even let him play with my toys. I also like to take care of him. His my Baby Mason, he is me.
But with all the attention Baby Mason was getting, I felt like being a baby again too.

Picture in Facetime

I had fun being silly during our Facetime with Nana and Papa. I purposefully moved my picture over their faces while we were talking. I thought it was hilarious!
Mommy’s Birthday Dinner

Even though we had a mini birthday celebration for Mommy on her birthday, we went out tonight for her birthday dinner. We went to yakiniku! As usually, I ate really well and I ate a lot!

It was all-you-can-eat, which is great, but with so much good food it is hard to choose what to eat next.

Well, you can never go wrong with a lot of meat and ice cream!
After a great dinner I took a break and pretended to be strict Daddy with glasses and arms crossed.

What a great dinner! Happy birthday Mommy!
Taking the bus to see Mommy

I was on a mission to meet up with Mommy, but I also just really wanted to ride the bus. After getting ready in the morning Daddy and I headed into the city on the bus. The bus ride was fun and I was happy to meet up with Mommy.

I also got to try out my new hat today too! Cool, huh?
Trying to go after Mommy
Mommy had an appointment this morning, so she got up early and headed out before I woke up. But I heard the door close and popped awake right after she left. I quickly realized that she was gone and tried to go after her. I was so sad. I wanted my Mommy. It took Daddy quite some time to get me to calm down.

Eventually we worked things out and came up with a morning plan that ended with seeing Mommy. Talking it out made it easier for me to deal with my feelings and knowing that I would see Mommy again helped me calm down.

Instead of waiting for Mommy to come home we decided to head into the city to meet up with her. That made me happy!

Smell exhibition and lunch

We visited the smell exhibition on our walk again today. We were all very into smelling everything. There were no weird smells, only good smells. There were a lot of good smells. It was a good way to get our appetite going for lunch.

Bathing myself

I’m getting to be such a big boy. I can even wash myself in the bath. Mommy still had to give me a wash to make sure I got everywhere clean, but I did a pretty good job on my own.
Out to eat

Daddy was home surprisingly early today and Mommy and I hadn’t eaten yet. So he suggest that we all go out for dinner. It was a nice unplanned dinner out that was a lot of fun! Not only did I eat well and behave well, but I was very talkative. I asked a lot of questions and also answered a lot of questions. It is nice to be spontaneous sometimes.
Grasshoppers and chase

Today at the park my teacher caught a grasshopper and showed it to us. We were very intrigued to see one up close. We have seen them hopping around before but we never got a chance to really examine them. Cool!

After that, it was time to run around and play chase! In our version we don’t really decided who is “it”. We just run around and chase each other and are chased by each other. This is the most fun way to play chase.
Elevator seat

Just walking to school can be quite tiring. So even though my nursery school is only on the 4th floor, I usually take seat for the ride.
Under dress

No, no, I’m not under duress. I’m under “dress”.
Happy Birthday Mommy

Today was Mommy’s birthday so we had a mini celebration for her. Daddy picked up some cake for each of us so we could all have our own. Mommy was very surprised and happy. I was happy too because I got to eat my very own pudding cup. It was very rich and yummy!

Mommy liked her gifts too! I didn’t really have any part of choosing the gfts but I took credit for it.

Happy birthday Mommy! I hope you had a great special day!
Sand cooking

Today at the park we had some beach toys so we could play with the sand. I was cooking up a storm with all the sand. I know it doesn’t sound appetizing but it is all natural organic and low in calories.
Itai no itai no tonde ike (Ouchie, fly away)
When kids in Japan get hurt, their parents say, “Itai no itai no tonde ike” or (Ouchie, fly away). When Mommy does that, my ouchie often ends up landing on Daddy who says “Itai itai itai” or “Ouchie ouchie ouchie”. I think it is so funny, so even though I wasn’t hurt, I was saying the chant just to see Daddy pretend to be hurt.
English lesson

We had a fun English lesson today. We learned a lot and did a lot. Aaron-sensei was picking some of us up and we all loved it. But I held back. I enjoyed watching other be picked up instead of being picked up myself.

We also went for a walk to the prefectural office today. It was nice to be outside and it was nice to be able to see the city from above. Everything looked so small. The cars looked like toys.
Hakozaki Shrine

For today’s walk we walked to the Hakozaki Shrine. Well, some of us walked. Many of us rode. It was an interesting change, but I think I much prefer going to the park to play.
