Sewing with Nana

Nana is making my Halloween costume again this year, just like she did the past two years. I was Baby Yoda and then I was a dinosaur. That was back before I could talk or to much else so I really couldn’t let her know what I wanted to be. But this year it is very clear that I want to be a car for Halloween because as you know I’m really into cars. Since she is working so hard on my costume I thought that it was only fair that I help out in sewing it. So I let Nana teach me how to use the sewing machine. I was a very good student and listened carefully and was sure not to do anything dangerous. It was a lot of fun for me to learn about sewing.

Papa’s snack and diaper duty

Papa knows how I like my snacks and went out to buy me some Jello. So when I got back from my napping car ride he was ready with my afternoon snack. It was very yummy and refreshing!

But being a Grandpa is not all fun and games. There are responsibilities as well. Papa was on diaper duty and took care of my diaper change like a practiced pro.

Spouting horn

After such fun time at the beach I fell asleep in the car right after we left the beach. I was quite exhausted. Instead of heading home and cutting my nap short, Mommy and Daddy went for a mini island tour. Instead of just circling around the same place as yesterday Daddy took Mommy (and me) to the Poipu area and stopped to show Mommy the Spouting Horn. It is this place where the waves crash through some rocks and then send water shooting up while making a noise. Mommy went to check it out while Daddy waited in the car with me as I slept. I woke up after a few minutes realizing that the car had stopped and then we went to join Mommy.

Back at the beach

Yes, we are back at the beach again. Two beach days in a row! It’s nice to be in Hawaii. But today is different because I have a something special that I picked up at the store. What could it be? It took a bit to get ready so here I am waiting patiently for Daddy to get it ready for me.

Here we go! What is it? What do I see?

My very own airplane float! I’m I flying or floating? Even I don’t know. But I had such a great time that it doesn’t really matter.

After a lot of flying I took a break and stretched my legs a bit.

Then it was time to land this airplane.

What a great airplane. It also came with inflight drink service.

But there were better snacks on the ground so I decided to get off the plane.

Then it was time to play in the sand.

But I might have been too close to the water.

Which was fine.

After playing in the sand and riding my airplane a bit more, I noticed that we brought something else to the beach that I hadn’t used before. Daddy showed me how to use it and then I eagerly jumped on. It was a boogie board!

Another great day at the beach! This is the life!

Hanging with Nana

I’m just hanging with Nana. I don’t even bother trying to wake up or even find Mommy and Daddy in the morning. I just look for Nana and Papa in the family room or in their bedroom and then they hook me up with a diaper change, breakfast, and an outfit change. Once all that is done I hang with them. We read books, play with cars, and I turn on the charm to get Nana to let me play on the iPad.

Ice cream shop

After dinner, Daddy suggested we all go out for ice cream. He remembers family trips to the ice cream shop when he was young and wanted to share that with me. Mommy and Papa are huge ice cream fans so I think me loving ice cream is in my blood. I easily finished off my cup of sherbert and just had to have a taste of Mommy’s funky blue Cookie Monster ice cream. It was all so yummy!

Lamb

I may love my fruits and eat a lot of everything, but I am very much a meat-eater. You should see me when we go out to an all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurant. I eat up all the meat put on my plate the moment it is placed there. So tonight I was thrilled to see Papa fire up the grill because that meant he was cooking some meat. Tonight it was Nana’s famous lamb! It smelled so go and once the Daddy cut me some pieces and placed it on my plate it disappeared into my mouth. Then I saw him skipping the fork and knife part of eating, eating it straight off the bone and I wanted to do that. So I did, and I did it very well.

Backyard tent

After we got home from the beach, Daddy unloaded all the beach gear and rinsed them off. When he got the tent set up again to rinse off I thought it looked like fun. So we enjoyed a mini backyard camp in the beach tent.

It was nice to be able to run around the backyard and then retreat into the shade of the tent when it got too hot.

Mommy and Daddy decided that it was a good place to have a snack. So they got me a bowl of grapes while they ate their local otsumami of poke and pipikaula. (I had a bit of the pipikaula and quite liked it.)

Shave ice

On the way home from the beach we decided to stop for some shave ice. I woke up from my nap in the car just as we were pulling into the parking lot. The shave ice was very yummy, but I think I was still a little tired because I had a bit of a tantrum. It’s okay though. I got it out of my system and was able to enjoy my ice cold shave ice!
