I’ve been saying a lot more words recently. Some words I’ve known for a while, other ones I’m learning and saying for the first time. Today at dinner I was eating natto and then started saying natto without any coaching or prompting. It just came out. From then on when Mommy asked me to repeat or to say “natto” I could. It is one of the useful words that I learn from Mommy. I learned how to say “UnderArmour” from Daddy. He didn’t exactly teach me. He wears a lot of UnderArmour shirts to work and when I asked about the logo he told me what it was. I picked it up immediate and have been saying it for several weeks now. Not the most useful of words for a 2-year old to know. But I can use it almost every workday morning!
Walk to the prefectural office

On our walk we stopped by the prefectural office. There we had a water break, which I wasn’t too interested in. And we checked out a food display outside a restaurant, which I was very into! Naturally, I pretend ate the food.
Ready to go

I surprisingly got ready for school early and have a little relaxing time with Daddy to watch TV. He got ready for work early too. Maybe it is because I woke up early today and got everyone else up an hour earlier than usual. Yes, that must be it. If it means there is less rushing, less tantrums and more play time and TV time then maybe I should get up early every morning.
(Daddy: Please don’t.)
Talking vehicles
Caravan

I finished my dinner and am just playing on my own a bit while I wait for Daddy to get home. I hope he likes the caravan that I mad.
Caring for young classmates

I like taking care of my younger classmates. They are so cute and cuddly that sometimes I just have to go over to them and give them a gentle pat. Some mornings at school I do my rounds the first thing I get there and visit all the babies. I pet them or hug them just to let them know that Mason is looking out for them.
Visiting Jiiji on Father’s Day

We went to visit Jiiji for Father’s Day! He was very happy to see me two weekends in a row. First we went out to lunch and Jiiji seemed to really enjoy the sushi we were having! I enjoyed it too!

I ate quite a bit and we had a great time at the restaurant. Then we headed back to Jiiji and Baaba’s house and there I ate quite a bit and we had a great time!

Baaba kept giving me fruits to eat and I did not complain. In fact I kept finding my way to the kitchen to see what else there was to eat.
Jiiji broke out the tape cassette player to play some kids song for me. I knew a few of them and sang along!

Then of course I went off to get more fruits to eat!

We had a great Father’s Day together, but it was getting late so we had to head home. I’ll miss you Jiiji and Baaba! I can’t wait to see you again!

Chilling

Just chilling and relaxing while watching TV. But it is so much better to watch TV with company. Come chill with me, Daddy.

Muscle, muscle

Mommy and Daddy were trying to get me changed when I ran off wearing my tanktop undershirt. Daddy started complimenting my muscles and asked me to pose by saying, “muscle, muscle”. I obliged with some macho man poses.
Singing, cooking, playing in bed

Usually when I wake up I want to eat right away, so I get fed before Mommy and Daddy eat. Not only do I get food, but I get entertainment as well. Daddy was singing songs to me this morning. I was happy and I knew it so I said (gestured) “Yipee!”
After I finished eating it was time for Mommy and Daddy to eat. Daddy went to the kitchen to cook breakfast and I followed him to help. We did a pretty good job cooking breakfast. Just a side note, I usually end up eating about half of Daddy’s breakfast for my second breakfast.

After we both ate breakfast, Daddy and I played all over the house. I wanted to play in bed so we went to the bedroom to pretend to sleep, chat, and sing.

What a great start to a day!
Happy Father’s Day!

Grocery shopping again

We sure have to go grocery shopping a lot. I wonder where all the food goes. Oh, wait. Yeah, that’s right. It goes in my tummy.
Daddy plays games while I nap

I woke up from my nap to find Daddy playing video games. So that’s what he does when I’m asleep. I had fun watching him play for a while, but then I got hungry for my snack. I had some cheese.

Even though Daddy likes playing video games it seems like he likes hanging out with me a lot more. I’m here Daddy. Let’s play!

Playing in the dinosaur pool

Setting up the pool

It is looking to be a very warm and sunny day so Daddy and I are setting up the pool for me to play in. I had a lot of fun helping set it up and checking the water. Maybe too much fun. Needless to say I ended up soaked and needed to change all my clothes. It’s not my fault. I had to check the water.
After all that hard working setting up the pool, I needed a water and snack break.

Chasing a butterfly in our garden
Gardening with Daddy

Our little garden had been neglected for a while, but Daddy has been putting more effort into upkeep and now it is flourishing. I like to help with the gardening on the weekends. I’m very good at pruning. Too good at pruning actually. I like ripping things off the plants, which Daddy does not seem to like. He tries to direct my pruning but sometimes I go rogue. I also like gardening when the sprinklers are on because I get to play in the mist and then the water puddles that start to accumulate.
Heading to the park

On our way to the park today there were a lot of cars to look at. It may have been too distracting and a bit unsafe while walking, but we love watching cars go by.
When we got to the park we went searching for grasshoppers, which is one of our go to activities recently. We didn’t find any today. So we were drawing in the sand. I like drawing, but I don’t like getting my hands dirty. So I would often have to have my teachers dust them off.

Bedtime for cars
We are playing bedtime with cars. We put them to sleep and then we wake them up. I want to make sure they are well-rested before our next time to play together.
