Mat play

It was another rainy day so we played inside instead of going for our walk. We had fun walking on the balance beam, hopping into hoops, and climbing over the mats. We got a lot of exercise even though we couldn’t go for a walk.

Things to watch at the park

There are so many things to watch at the park. As you know, one of my favorite things to watch are the vehicles going by. Today I saw a few buses and a cement mixer truck. I hung out at the fence to see them all go by. Later on our walk we watched some ducks trying to climb up the fountain steps. We were all cheering them one and hoping they could reach their goal.

Crying before school

I had a bit of a sad morning today. I was having a great morning, woke up in a great mood, ate all my breakfast, and had a lot of time to play with Daddy. I even didn’t put up much of a fuss when it came time to choosing my outfit for the day. But when it was time to put my socks and shoes on and head out I started crying. It was all of a sudden and quite a flip from my happy mood moments before. Mommy and Daddy asked me what was wrong and I said that I wanted to play with my cars. Then I started to say that Mommy and Daddy were going to go down down down to the subway, which is how I say go to work. They figured out that I was sad that they were going to work and that I wanted to extend our great weekend with all of us together. They were very understanding and ensured me that they would see me after school and we’d have a lot of time together again. They also reminded me of all the fun I have at school with my friends and teachers. After I cried it all out I calmed down and put my socks and shoes on without trouble. I was a little quieter on our walk to school than usual, but once we got there, I was fine. I like school, but I love spending time with Mommy and Daddy!

Haircut time

It’s that time again. Daddy cut my hair again today. I was a very good boy and sat still without fussing. Of course, I had my train videos to watch on YouTube and Mommy fed me the fruit jelly and sorbet that I made with Daddy. That kept me happily distracted as Daddy cut my hair with scissors and clippers.

I’ve always like corn, but today I had fresh corn on the cob for the first time. It was absolutely delicious! I loved it! I ended up cleanly eating the corn off of an entire cob all by myself. I did really well at biting the corn off the cob. We didn’t flavor the corn at all and it was very sweet and crunchy. I couldn’t stop chomping away at the corn on the cob. I can’t wait to have corn on the cob again.

Helping Daddy in the garden

Our little garden has been neglected for quite a while. When Daddy was working from home, he had time in the morning to tend to the garden, but for the past several months he hasn’t had any time. We are always busy in the morning getting ready for work and school. As of late he’s been trying to make more of an effort on the weekend to bring the garden back to life, and things are looking up. We have more plants flourishing, maybe because of Daddy’s new assistant gardner: me. I like helping out in the garden. I check the leaves with Daddy, check the soil, water the plants, and chase away the bad bugs. I have to admit that sometimes I’m distracted by the bugs and forget my gardening duties, but overall I’m a very big help.

Subway holoholo

I love going out! I often ask about going out in the car and am often told that I have to wait until the weekend. I always look forward to those drives. Every so often I get a surprise holoholo outing like today when we rode the subway to go shopping. I am always thrilled to see the subway pulling up to the platform watch intently as the doors open and close at each stop. Subway holoholo is always welcome!

Shabu shabu

We went out to a shabu-shabu restaurant for Mommy and Daddy’s belated anniversary dinner. It was all-you-can-eat and boy did I eat all that I could. I enjoyed everything! I had a lot of meat and vegetables, but I really enjoyed the fact that the desserts were all-you-can-eat as well! Mommy and I had fun sampling all the sweets!

Oh, by the way, just to let you know, I’ve been finding the changing tables at restaurants a bit cramped recently.

Shirtless

I can’t explain the details about how I ended up shirtless, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with me being sweaty. So even though she is smiling, Mommy was not happy to have a sweaty little boy lean and rub up against her.

Making fruit jelly and sorbet

I really enjoyed the fruit jelly that Daddy brought home the other day so Daddy suggested that we make our own. We had some grapes and oranges that were about go bad so we made some jelly and sorbet. I helped wash the fruits and watched as Daddy blended them. Then I helped him pour, strain, and mix the fruit juice with gelatin. That was the easy part. The hardest part was waiting for a few hours before we could eat anything.

Update: The fruit jelly and sorbet turned out great and it was a very tasty snack. It was extra special because it was a snack that we made!

Saturday morning

Saturday mornings are the best! After a long week of work and school we kind finally take it easy in the morning and enjoy all the little moments. Like eating breakfast on Daddy’s lap and chilling out on the bed. But the weekend is not all rest and fun. There are chores to be done. We usually have a bunch of laundry to do on the weekend and I help out where I can.

Running around at the park

Today on our walk to the park my classmates and I ran around the park and played with balls. We weren’t playing any particular game. We were just having fun running around in the wide open space.

I also went off to the fence to check the cars going by. While I was there I noticed some ants on the ground and started watching them. My teacher came by to see what I was looking at and I pointed out the ants. Then I pointed out some birds. I wanted her to see all the animals that I saw. Then soon after that I was running off all over again.
