At the park with Nana and Papa

It finally stopped raining so I headed to the park with Nana and Papa. We had such nice weather that it was hard to believe it had been raining so hard over the weekend.

I did some drawing in the sand with Nana, but then I changed the play style and started to erase everything that she drew. It was a fun but messy game.

Then it was time for a piggyback ride.

New toys

I loved my new toys so much that Mommy and Daddy were worried that I would bring them all to bed with me. But I didn’t. I let them rest in their new toy box home. And I played with them the first opportunity I had this morning!

Kaiten sushi

We went to kaiten sushi (conveyor belt sushi) for dinner tonight. I’ve been here before, but in the past we always brought my food. Today, everything I ate was delivered by the conveyor belt. It was delicious! Nana and Papa enjoyed themselves too and ate quite a bit. It was another fun dinner out!

2nd Birthday Party

I had my 2nd birthday party today! It is weird because my birthday is still a few days away. I guess we just wanted to have the party on a day when everyone could make it. I was very happy to see everybody. It was quite full house. Of course, Mommy and Daddy were there. So were Nana and Papa. Jiiji, Baaba, and Obachan also came over to celebrate with me. I feel so blessed to have so many people here just to celebrate my birthday party.

It was a great party! Basically it was a lot of people watching me and commenting on how much I’ve grown and being amazed at everything that I can do. But that happens anytime people see me. Let me summarize the parts specifically tied into the birthday party.

First of all, let’s talk about the birthday cake. I loved it! Not only was it decorated with cars, but it tasted great! I had a taste, then I had a nibble, then I just dove it. It was awesome!

But, before I even got a taste I had a bit of the birthday blues because I was feeling a lot of pressure being the birthday boy and I was surprised by the birthday song singing. Eventually I came around to the birthday cake and candle thing, but it took some coaxing.

Once I got over that part I was really into the cake.

Literally “into” the cake.

After my taste it was time to eat the cake. I really enjoyed it and so did everyone else!

I thought the cake would be the highlight of the party but then came the present opening.

I loved all the gifts! Thanks everyone!

After all the present opening it was playtime!

While I was playing Jiiji was trying to play with me but I kept shrugging him off and wiping off his cooties. It wasn’t my nicest moment, but I was trying to play with my toys and was not in the mood.

But I was just playing. After that I got around to being my goofy self and entertained everyone!

What a great birthday party! Thank you everyone for celebrating with me! I love you all!

Dexterous

I’m very good with using my hands both physically and digitally! I can line up my toys in a very nice line with fine precision and I can move things around Nana’s iPad with very little little practice. Pretty dexterous.

Dinner with Nana and Papa

We all went out for yakiniku to celebrate Nana and Papa’s visit to Japan and a belated Boys’ Day. Nana and Papa were very impressed by how much I could eat. I think I easily out-ate Nana. The bonus is that even though it is an all-you-can-eat, my meal was free because I’m still under two. I sure took advantage of that. I had a lot of meat, rice, curry, soup, and of course ice cream for dessert!

All the food was great! But sometimes it took a while to arrive.

We had a great meal and I think we started off Nana and Papa’s visit to Japan really well! They had a great time and of course I had a great time too! We left the restaurant will full bellies and sore cheeks because we all smiled and laughed so much! It was so much fun! Then Nana and Papa made sure to stop by the bakery and pick up some breakfast for tomorrow, intending to share some with me.

What a great first day to what is bound to be a fun week with Nana and Papa!

Hanging out with Nana and Papa

Even though Nana and Papa made it safely to Japan, their luggage did not. So we had to go shopping to get them some clothes, so we just hung out at home in the meantime.

We played a bit, read some books, and Nana showed me some apps on her iPad that she got for me.

Even with Nana and Papa here, I couldn’t skew too much from my usual weekend, so there was a lot of playing with Daddy. But Nana and Papa enjoyed seeing that live instead of over FaceTime so they really enjoyed themselves.

Once the stores opened we went shopping for some clothes to hold Nana and Papa over until their luggage arrived. I did a bit of window shopping as well. I found a cute pair of glasses that were quite fashionable, but I didn’t get them.

After shopping and lunch we went home and I had my nap as usual. Then once I woke up it was right back to playtime!

One thing that they saw me do on FaceTime was play with the sliding door. They got to witness it firsthand.

Then there was my new favorite activity at home, which is “Daddy Bu-bu” or Daddy car!

After that I showed of my athletic ability and knack for mimicking.

We also did some dancing too!

I was showing off a bit for Nana and Papa and did a bunch of goofy things.

Then it was time for Papa to step up and change me. Nana and Papa will be watching me next week while Mommy and Daddy are at work so he needed to practice for the real thing.

It was a really full day of fun and interaction! But I needed sustenance so we headed out for dinner! But not before we took a slightly belated Boys’ Day picture!

Nana and Papa are here

Nana and Papa are here! I’ve been hearing about their visit for a couple of months now but I still couldn’t believe it! I was so ready for their visit that when the finally got here I acted as if no time had passed since I last saw them in Hawaii. I got right to showing them my toys and doggies and then we got right to playing.

Bedtime book with Daddy

Reading a couple of bedtime books has been a part of my bedtime routine for what seems to be my entire life. I love this quiet time right before I go to sleep. It helps me have a good sleep and sweet dreams! Usually I have one Mommy book and one Daddy book. Mommy borrows books from my school so I get to read a new book nearly everyday. With Daddy’s books I get hooked on certain books and ask him to read the same one for days in a row. This week it is my Hawaiian shapes book.

At the park with Mommy

It looks like it is going to rain for a few days starting this evening, so Mommy and I headed to the park this morning before the weather turned. It was fun and relaxing! It is the middle of Golden Week and a lot of people must be traveling or something because there weren’t too many people at the park. We just took it easy!
