Lying on my play mat all day can get boring and a bit hot on my back. Being carried is great, but also hot. I found that a few breaks on the couch with cushions is relaxing and not too hot. Aaaaaah, that’s nice.

Coffee break
We had to do some grocery shopping during Daddy’s lunch break, but we all needed an energy boost so we stopped by for some coffee before we headed home. We did take out but the weather was great and there were empty seats outside so we sat down for a few minutes. I’m not aContinue reading “Coffee break”
Driving
Okay, everyone, hop in the car. We’re ready to go. I’ll drive. Just kidding, of course. When the car is really hot we turn on the engine and AC to cool the car down a bit before putting me in my car seat. Instead of carrying me while standing in the hot sun, Daddy justContinue reading “Driving”
So so close to rolling over
Aaahh, just a little more,…maybe if I…I think I can get…just need to move my…aaahhh—never mind. I give up. Rolling over has been my major goal recently and I make a decent effort pretty much every day. I think about rolling over. I dream about rolling over. I even do some rolling over preparation inContinue reading “So so close to rolling over”
Like putty
My late night feedings are a bit of a blur. I’m sure I wake up hungry, but I’m not really clear on what happens after that. The sleepiness and hunger kind of interfere with my memory. My body still knows how to cry and feed because it needs to, but my mind is kind ofContinue reading “Like putty”
Sea otter sleep
Remember how I mentioned before that I sleep on Daddy like a tree frog? Well, tonight it was more like a sea otter. Good thing we don’t have to sleep in water. I think I am so big that we would just sink.
Wild one
Yes, it’s true: I’m a wild one! I’m always on the prowl. I poo and pee whenever and wherever I want to (while properly diapered). You never know that to expect of me. I attack smaller animals and chew on them to show them that I’m at the top of the food chain. Yes, IContinue reading “Wild one”
Chilling with Daddy before work
Daddy’s almost off to work. He is working from home so he is only going to the room next door, but still, that means I won’t see him for a few hours. We got in a last few minutes of father-and-son time before work started.
Breath of fresh air
The things that make me laugh. Daddy was puffing air into my face and I thought it was funny! It felt kind of ticklish. I enjoyed it like a breath of fresh air (even early morning breath)!
Sea otter therapy
My sea otter friend is a good pal. When I’m feeling stressed or have to vent, he is always there for me. He listens patiently to my complaints and lets me chew on his feet. That’s what friends are for.
Closer to rolling over
I’m getting so close to rolling over. It looks like I just need a tiny little bit more effort and then I would be there. I just can’t seem to get my head to come around and when I do, my arm gets in the way. This is way harder than it looks. This mayContinue reading “Closer to rolling over”
Reading the fine print
I’ve read my book hundreds of times, but I thought I might have missed something. So this time I gave it a really careful close look. As it turns out, I didn’t really miss much the first few hundred times.
Morning nap
Sometimes I wake up to nurse and then drop right back off to sleep. I usually have a morning nap, but when it is this early it could mess up my routine. I guess any deep and peaceful sleep is a good thing.
Nearly rolling over
I’m getting so close to rolling over. I’m trying really hard. I get almost there, but I just can’t seem to move my head the last bit to tip the scales in the right direction. I’m so close. Mommy and Daddy are getting really excited and don’t want to miss that moment when I firstContinue reading “Nearly rolling over”
Low-riding pants
Oops! How embarrassing. With all the wriggling and twisting I do, sometimes my diapers drop down a bit. Or a lot in this case.
Pardon?
We were headed out for a walk and Daddy said something that I didn’t quite catch. My face says it all. “Pardon?”
Ball in hand
I’m getting better at controlling my hands and my ball is becoming one of my favorite toys. It is easy to grab and easy to control and it is fun to chew on. That’s why we have hands, right? To find things to chew on, right?
Tummy Time: Showing off
I was showing off to Grandma and Grandpa during our FaceTime today. I wanted to show them how easily I hold me head up now during tummy time and how I am eager to start crawling already. I think they were very impressed. I feel like I have the strength for crawling, but just lackContinue reading “Tummy Time: Showing off”
Cheeky
Look at those cheeks! Yes, they are as soft and marshmallowy as you imagine. Mommy says that my cheeks look like Crayon Shinchan’s cheeks. He is a Japanese cartoon character. Not the best role model, but I must admit that he has some very impressive cheeks.
On Daddy’s shoulders (practice)
It seems like Daddy can’t wait for me to grow up so that he can carry me safely on his shoulders. He sometimes practices putting me on his shoulders and imagines carrying me around for the whole world to see is beautiful son. Personally, I don’t get what the big deal is about carrying meContinue reading “On Daddy’s shoulders (practice)”
