Yet another pool day where I refuse to wear my swimming cap. So I wasn’t allowed into the pool, but I was okay with just playing with the water from the outside. After all we have our wading pool at home that I play in all the time. Maybe that’s why pool day is notContinue reading “Pool day water play”

“Wrist” watch
This wrist watch is way to big for my wrist. Hmmm, I guess it might not be mine. I can’t wait until I can get my own. It is so cool and has so many functions. One of these days.
Talking
I’m talking more and more these days. One of the biggest breakthroughs is that I say my own name when I refer to myself instead of just pointing to myself. Actually I sayâ€Matonâ€. Close enough. Today one of my teachers asked me if I peed and I responded in Japanese “I didn’t peeâ€. My teacherContinue reading “Talking”
Not ready to go home
There have been days where I’m not ready to go home when Mommy picks me up from school. Some days I need an extra few minutes to hang out in the waiting room to peruse some books before I choose which one to borrow. Other days I throw an outright fit and refuse to evenContinue reading “Not ready to go home”
Doing my own thing
There are many times at school when I’m just not as into things as everyone else. I just kind of am there but not necessarily enjoying things as much as everyone else. There are some dancing times when I just don’t feel the vibe. I can be a bit of a wallflower. However, when weContinue reading “Doing my own thing”
Walk to school with Daddy
Some mornings Mommy has a slightly earlier shift so she has to rush off to catch the subway while we are walking to school. So I walk the rest of the way with Daddy. For the most part Daddy carries me, but there is an agreed upon leg where I walk. I like our morningContinue reading “Walk to school with Daddy”
Breakfast chair
It is good to have routines but sometimes they have to change. Since we’ve been back from Hawaii I have been insisting on eating breakfast on Daddy’s lap instead of in my high chair. This can be a bit inconvenient for Daddy when he is trying to get ready for work or get me readyContinue reading “Breakfast chair”
Look, a cat
I spotted cat on our way home and was very interested in it. Even after it left I didn’t want to leave. I wanted to go after it, but it had gone between the fence so we couldn’t reach it.
Elevator buttons
I’m very good at pushing elevator buttons. I’ve insisted on being the one to push the buttons for months now, both going to school and heading home.
Power breakfast for busy day at school
I had my usual fruits and yogurt for breakfast but I also had some crab bread. I somehow knew I would need the energy for school. We did a lot of dancing at school today. Sometimes I sit it out and other times I am really into it. Today I was somewhere in between. IContinue reading “Power breakfast for busy day at school”
Riding in my “bus”
Visiting Jiiji and Baaba
We visited Jiiji and Baaba for the first time since we got back from Hawaii. It was nice to see them again. As soon as we got to their house I was wandering around, interacting with them, and showing them how much a grew up in Hawaii. Mommy and Daddy shared with them all theContinue reading “Visiting Jiiji and Baaba”
Steak Miya & Potty
We went out to dinner tonight because I again requested to go holoholo bus again and the Steak Miya restaurant was having good deal on beer, so it was a win-win for everyone. Even though the restaurant name is Steak Miya we mainly go for the salad bar. It is really good and fully stockedContinue reading “Steak Miya & Potty”
Holoholo bus to dinner
I’ve been talking about holoholo bus all week so Mommy and Daddy made sure that I got my wish. We hopped in the bus to go out to dinner tonight. I like going out to eat, but when we go there by bus it is twice as fun.
Bus on head dancing
Itadakimasu & Gochisousama deshita
Noodles
I like noodles. I love Mommy.
Begging to be carried
Now that I’m big enough to walk and do things on my own, I don’t want to walk or do things on my own. I want to be carried all the time. Today after dinner I was begging Mommy to carry me.
Hot and humid
Oh man. It is still pretty hot and humid here in Japan. Hawaii was a lot more comfortable. Our short walks to the park are quite draining. I think I need a water break.
“Pants” bowing
I’m pretty good now about saying itadakimasu at the beginning of meals and gochisousama at the end of meals. But sometimes I am just silly. Instead of saying itadakimasu this morning I was saying a very some “pants” with a respectful bow. I’m such a silly boy.
